Wojciech Szczesny Will Never Leave Arsenal For The Money – But He’d Go To Barcelona
Money is the root of all evil, well it is if your name is Samir Nasri or Emmanuel Adebayor. Both players left Arsenal for the money, and some would say who could blame them, but one player that will never leave purely for money is goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny.
Arsenal’s number one has been in great form this season, and had it not been for some of his saves Arsenal could actually be in a worse position than they already find themselves in. He has been speaking to the Polish media about his time at Arsenal and his words make for interesting reading.
He said, “I can’t declare that I will spend my entire career here, but if I leave I will have a very important reason or I will go to Barcelona.”
Barcelona. The dreaded B word. It seems every valuable asset ends up there. Nobody can predict the future in football, but with an attitude like that the boy will go a long way in the game.

He then explained what he meant about leaving and said, “I can’t imagine a situation where I would leave this club just for money.”
Szczesny is still young, but he is growing it seems with each game he plays and he is becoming more confident in himself day by day. He went on to add, “I feel that when I say something, everyone listens to me. More so on the field than in the dressing room, but that’s more important I think. I want to be the captain of the team. I feel that I am able to take on that responsibility. I always wanted to be captain and if I ever get that honour, I will gladly put on the armband.”
Some people do not like having a goalkeeper as captain, but personally I think it makes good sense as they get to see the whole game. What do you think guys would Szczesny make a good captain? In a few years time maybe, but he certainly has the potential, that is if Barcelona haven’t snapped him up by then.

Szczesny is a great keeper and he’ll only get better n better. He’s a young guy but I think he will be a world class keeper (the Peter Schmeichel type) by time he’s 25 IF he continues to grow this rapidly. Not like De GAY at Man Utd

I consider Szczesny one of the true gunner, one who truly loves this club. He has been amazing for us and would definitely make a fine captain when he matures and gains more experience. It would break my heart if he or RVP left Arsenal, hope he stays for a long long time, he’s undoubtedly our number 1!

Why is it that players cannot longer spend their whole career at Arsenal??
The Barcelona excuse, that’s money too, look at the salaries the guys at barcelona make they are even bigger than city’s and nobody cares seem they seem to paying that off with titles…. but its the same monye excuse just with the excuse that they have a greater chance to win titles.
If Arsenal is still a top club it should keep its top players until the very end of their career, giving them a deserved farewell. Or sell them by because they at an age og 34-35 probably won’t get as many minutes as they would like…. but not the same old barcelona excuse…. thanks to wenger… it was ok to sell overmars and petit… but henry made no sense… and fabregas showed that we have no negotiation power whatsoever.
I would be really really pissed off if any from van persie, wilshere, schezny, vermaelen ends up at barcelona or any other team when they could actually be competing for glory at Arsenal… Porbably the best solution is Wenger out.

Guys you cannot blame Scezny for making those statements, although players in his situation need to keep their cards close to their chest. I think most if not every player desires to play for a team like Madrid or Barca, it’s a natural thing to want to move up in life and better yourself.
Perhaps if things weren’t so messed up at AFC at the moment, if the board and manager had desire and ambition to build an empire of their own, we wouldn’t have players wanting to go elsewhere. So it all comes back to the root of the problem. Stingy Kroenke, corrupt board and the nutty professor. They all need to go if we want change. The players undoubtedly see what is actually going on at AFC, I still think that is partly why they seem so casual on the pitch…no fight in them. We need new management and an owner who wants to win at all costs.

Many people write Arsenal off from the title race. But come on… if we look at it mathematically, we may have lost a possible 14 points out of our first 7 games of the season.
In 2009/2010 season, Chelsea won the league with 86 points out of 38 games – they lost 28 points in that season. In 2010/2011 season, Manchester United won the league with 80 points. They lost 34 points in the whole season.
Szczesny got the right attitude for believing that we can still make it! Our players need to have the strong mentality and believe we still have all the fighting chance in this league.
Too many times we watch our players crumble under pressure. They lack that cutting edge to finish off a game… to protect a lead in the dying minutes… and to fight back when they lose a lead.
I think what the team really need is confidence… and fans who believes in them too. It’s October and the transfer window closed not too long ago… people are already discussing so much about January transfer window… and discussing about who should be replaced.
We have 3 months before January and it’s more important that we get behind our players and give them our fullest support. I think our current crop can do well together… they just need more motivation… positive attitude… more playing time together… fans to back them up!
I think we now got a No.1 in Szczesny – a very promising goalkeeper. Our defense is one of our obvious problems but what they need to do is keep practicing… We all were very happy with the signing of Per Mertesacker because we all know he’s a world class CB… but all of a sudden people are also now saying that he’s too slow for EPL. I believe he will only get better and soon we’ll find a solid CB in him. I am not a fan of Kos when he started with Arsenal but I can see he’s getting better and he’s a player who would throw himself into danger to stop an attack. With TV back in Oct, we’ll have more leadership in our back 4… so, that’s something to look forward to.
On the left, I think Gibbs is stepping up well and Santos just gained his confidence from the champions league game by scoring his first for the club. On the right, I am really disappointed with the injury of Sagna as I think he’s a very physical player.. let’s hope he comes back fast.
In midfield, we got the core gunners who I see works very hard for the team – Song, Ramsey, Walcott, Arshavin, Wilshere (when he is well)… In terms of experience, we have them in Arteta and Benayoun… upfront, we’ve got Gervinho which I now see as a creative player who run pass defenders… with more playing time, he’ll get better and sharpen up his finishing… and of course the main man of our team now… our captain RVP is still world class! On the day he is rested, we’ve got Chamakh (which I still think is performing when given the chance). Of course he only have 1 goal given the playing time he gets but when he’s out, he still gives all out.
We’ve got some players of the future like Oxlade Chamberlain, Ryo Miyaichi, Jenkinson and Frimpong.. and Wenger has established himself as one of the greatest manager who discovers raw talent and groom them into world class players.
All I wanna say is that, if we look at our team as individuals and as a unit, we have that quality… we have good players… It is because of the low form lately that people are saying our players are mediocre. I disagree that our players are mediocre.
I agree that Wenger need to stop saying we’re unlucky and blaming on injuries… we have the team and the quality… we just need to win… and be consistent. I have high respect for Arsene but I think it’s about time he stop making excuses for his players – I can see the change in his comments to the press now… I think he needs to be hard on the team and bring them back to Arsenal’s winning ways.
We need to know that the doors are still open and trophies are still up for grabs. If people start losing faith now.. start targeting just a top 4 finish or top 8 finish, we may fall behind. We cannot lower our targets and standards just because we’re not on top form at the moment.
I am happy to at least hear our keeper saying that we can still win the league!! I still have faith in our team and hope the players will get us Gunners back to our winning ways!!

around the world for talent that end up at man city or
barcelona. BUT!! they dont buy english players, and when they try such as Gary Cahill, Phil Jagielka etc (and as you can see they are white males) they dont succeed because AFC just has black african/french players that
those white good players dont want to be with on a chemistry level. not saying they are racists, just they would prefer players they can instantly get on with. ask yourself, do you see players like alex song, djourou, gervinho, sagna, etc get on with players like cahill,jagielka, rooney, joey barton, scott dann etc

We need to start defending as a team. The difference between us and Barcelona besides the players are that they attack and defend as a unit while we have too many lazy players when it comes to closing down (Arshavin)If we defend as a group then are weaknesses are less glaring and we can counter attack to utilize our speed on the wings. If not it will be a long season.
