2 1/2 Arsenal players left in World Cup knockout rounds
Arsenal started the World Cup with ten players in the various teams but seven of them have dropped by the wayside already.
This will probably cheer up the watching Arsene Wenger as his squad will have more time to recover before the new season, but the players themselves must be devastated.
France was the biggest loser with four Arsenal players, but also Alex Song (Cameroon), Nicklas Bendtner (Denmark) and Eboue (Ivory Coast) are all on their way home.
This just leaves Robin Van Persie with Holland, the surprise package of Mexico including Carlos Vela, and the half player in Cesc Fabregas. Maybe he shouldn’t count anyway as he is only a substitute!
How many will be left in after the first knockout round? Spain are no means certain to beat Portugal. The Netherlands are probably favourites to knock out S;ovakia, but they certainly can’t be written off, and Mexico will be long odds to beat Argentina.
Perhaps all Arsenal’s players will have an early holiday……..

I thought the 1/2 of a player was Carlos because of his injury, but he is almost fully recovered. I don’t think Cesc will leave during the summer so I completely support him and he did great yesterday.
Don’t write Mexico off just yet. We are a fighting side and will only go out after making Argentina suffer. Spain has the potential to be champions but something is not working right, and if they don’t get their game on they will lose against Portugal. I think the Netherlands are a serious candidate for taking the cup and it works to their advantage that nobody really considers them as candidates. Hopefully Robin comes back to London on a hot streak.
PS. Vela will make the winning goal against Argentina =P

Why? Possibly because he spent all last season kissing the Arsenal badge and saying that he wouldn’t be leaving, then as soon as the season ends he begs Arsene Wenger to let him go to Barcelona.
Is that a good enough reason?

It is very clear from all his statements that Cesc wants to leave. However, he should be allowed to go at the right price. I believe he will regret it as he will spend quiet some time sitting on the bench in his first year there. That may also keep him out of the spainish team etc. Arsenal should collect at least 50m pounds on him. Getting a replacement should not be too much of a problem if Wenger is prepard to spend part or all the funds from Cesc’s sale.

well half the teams are out now soo it stands to reason half the arsenal players to not be in the world cup…
on the cesc fabregas front i think his beeing a sub for spain shows what will happen if he moves to barcelona this year… i wish cesc all the best i just hope and prey he reconsiders when he moves… with xavi busquets iniesta toure kieta to contend with i think he would struggle to get in the first team… it would be such a shame to see another great arsenal player ruined by barcelona

Cesc is not a 0.5 player of arsenal. Let say 0.75 at least a strong “A” player of arsenal. I think also the probability of cesc leaving is 0.1.
Let me analysis…
The probability of an apple seller (wenger) to sell an apple (cesc) depends on the apple seller not the apple. And it could be 1 (i.e if the apple seller is willing to sell) and (0 even if the apple wants to be sold)
the probability is till 0 even if a customer (barca) wants to buy and the seller is not willing to sell.
The probability might be 1 if the consumer is willing to pay the price tag of the apple, be it the actual or inflated price of the apple.
If the apple seller is not willing to sell an apple, he can say that apple (cesc) is not 4 sale. Or tag it a high price (€40m) to scare away buyers.
so you can see the condition needed to be fullfill be an apple is sold.
With this I’m 0.75 certain cesc will still be a gunner. Thank you.
