A great November for Arsenal – for a change!
Arsenal fans loathe the month of November. Not for winter, the Guy Fawkes Night or Remembrance Day, but for Arsenal’s traditionally horrible luck and form in the month.
Last season, Arsenal suffered no less than 4 defeats out of 8 matches in the month. In the 2009/10 season Arsenal suffered 2 defeats out of 5 matches in the month, with the 3-0 reversal by Chelsea something that remains difficult to forget. The 2008/09 season brought 3 defeats and a draw in 8 matches in November, in the month when William Gallas lost his captaincy, Fabregas took it and Bendtner was a hero in North London (pretty long ago, innit?).
Yet this season’s November has proven a more forgiving period for Arsenal. So far with 3 victories out of 5 (2 draws came against Marseille and Fulham), and a rather inconsequential match against Manchester City coming up, Arsenal can move on to the Christmas period of football and its fixture congestion in reasonably strong form.
It wasn’t easy either. After the historic 5-3 win over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, Arsenal were held to the 0-0 draw at Marseille and this put immense pressure on the team to win against Dortmund. The 3-0 win over West Brom, 2-1 win over Norwich and especially the 2-1 victory against Dortmund were made to look easy by van Persie and company. Unfortunately the midweek fatigue may have culminated in the Fulham result, but nonetheless it has been a good month for Arsenal by historic comparisons.
Hopefully, we can maintain a good run of form and come out of the New Year in a good position to take a top-four spot.

Overall, its still not good enough … cannot afford to drop two points when both chelsea and spurs win!
This month has shown how we are both close and far away
Certain players are simply not good enough to call upon for help, I doubtlessly need to name names, and we are lacking in some vital areas – mainly support striker of real quality and a playmaker of exceptional quality.
I cannot understand how playing two games in a week has tired professional athletes out so much, but the performance on the weekend was dire for all but the last quarter … and wengers team selection was confusing, as if they were all so tired, why not play diaby and benayoun, who should have been fine to play?
We need to up our game because at our current pace we are not making ends on a top four spot
Opinions divided. What do you think?

mojo is right. A few of our guys don’t like it in the trenches. They cannot be relied upon. Can’t defend and the strikers/midfiedlers suffer accuracy problems shooting for goal
