Adam Kemp – Time for Arsenal fans to face the truth (and it will get worse)
Optimistic Arsenal throw more points away in complacent fashion! by Adam Kemp
As you are aware I have been very quiet the past couple of months as I decided to give the readers a break from my usual doom and gloom pessimism surrounding Arsenal FC. I have patiently watched our performance over the past couple of months and frustratingly I would have to argue that we are abysmal in all areas. As you know Arsenal is regarded as one of the finest clubs on the planet that boast some of the best talent the globe has ever seen. The problem is that this current crop of players are nowhere near as gifted as some of the teams we have had the pleasure of supporting.
After the 5-3 demolition of Chelsea many fans began to praise Arsenal and seamlessly forgive Wenger for the shocking performances at the start of the season. Since that game we secured qualification from the Champions League top of our group whereas both Manchester Clubs were relegated to Europe’s second tier. We were looking comfortable to progress and cement our position in the top four. The same old sense of complacency began to creep in accompanied by injuries to all of our full backs. I am sure you would all like to blame the lack of natural fullbacks in the team as a contributing factor to our demise. I would have to disagree as without some key players at the back we should have picked up many more points than we have done.
Arsenal was dumped out of the Carling Cup to Manchester City in a game that we could have quite easily won. However, how many times have we seen Arsenal dictate play and shoot aimlessly over and concede a sloppy goal on the break? I accepted that defeat as we played a youthful team against an expensively assembled Manchester City. I saw enough from players like Frimpong, Coquelin and Chamberlain to expect a rich future for the Gunners. The future is important however these players will not stick around if the club’s present players do not deliver. We have seen several of our promising players blossom on the field then move on elsewhere for financial gain and to win trophies. It is shocking that a club as big and wealthy as Arsenal will not show their might in the market and buy established players.
We responded with a thumping win at Wigan which was short-lived as since then we have averaged just over one goal a game. We are still not the best defensively and our lack of penetration in the final third can explain the abysmal results in the league. In our last seven games we managed only three wins and equally three losses. We lost to Manchester City away in the league which is an acceptable defeat as they are rivals who are challenging for the title. I cannot accept a draw at home to Wolves and losses to Fulham and Swansea. We are so far behind the leaders, and even Spurs, that we need to be winning the games against the inferior sides in the league. In the games against Fulham and Swansea there were some controversial refereeing decisions surrounding penalties however this is no excuse over ninety minutes for key players to step up and score goals.
We were privileged to see the legend that is Henry come off the bench against Leeds and score a sublime goal to win us the tie. Henry’s passion and emotion for Arsenal was refreshing to watch as it demonstrates true class which so many Arsenal players seem to lack. He may be aging but he is still a winner and top quality professional. If only Wenger would have emulated Fergie by keeping his older stars in the squad to integrate them sparingly with the younger players then maybe we would have won something since 2005. Arsenal lost some key players last summer and he did not use the money to adequately replace them. His summer signings did not excite me and I am still to be impressed. Arteta is a decent player but he is a poor mans Cesc! We are not as good on the ball anymore and even less clinical in front of goal. We are far too reliant on our only world class player and I guarantee you he will request a move away this summer when we have missed out on the top four. If only Wenger could gamble and spend that money he has to buy two or three top players to help us finish in the top four then maybe we could convince him to stay! Keep dreaming as Wenger has already condemned us to Europa League football next season and a first choice striker of Chamakh!
I am beginning to accept that maybe Arsenal will never recover under the direction of the French tactition. His principles are dated and he has allowed Tottenham to assemble a squad that is arguably stronger than ours. It is embarrassing to comprehend that Tottenham will finish above us in the league and that is a sign of severe failure. Forget seven seasons without a trophy! The way things are going it may be twenty years!
I fully expect things to get even worse for Arsenal fans over the next couple of seasons where we will start to reminisce about the talent that used to wear the shirt. Unless Wenger manages to keep RVP and acquire some established talent we will continue to spiral out of control into mid table obscurity. What is so frustrating for us as fans is that we know what the problems are and we know how they can be fixed. Arsenal is financially healthy and can afford the solutions and yet opt to except failure in the favour of increasing profits for the greedy board! It is pathetic that we pay excessive ticket prices to see average players trying to pretend they are truly Arsenal players.
I still stand by my prognosis that Wenger is underachieving considering the resources he has available to him. I hope I will be proven wrong but I have been waiting two seasons to be proven wrong by this forgotten hero!

i cant disagree with one word. We should stop settling for bs and spend. Chelsea know they have problems and are spending. City doesnt have much problems and yet mancini is spending. Arsenal has numerous problems and wenger gives a trial to a no-named left back whos probably worse than squllaci.

i must admit time has come for a change in the system both on and off the pitch arsenal’s 4 3 3 formation needs one most important thing pressing continuosly for 90 minutes and u can’t do that in the premier league there is a difference why barcelona are the best cos its spanish league i think wenger is losing it we need to sign new players atleast three world class players and change the formation to old good 4 4 2 or wenger has to leave arsenal at the end of the season GOONER TIL I DIE

Our methods are dated. There was time we would attract and buy the bargain talented dutch player out of form for Real Madrid, Barca etc, and slot them into the team. VDV was that player that one would expect to come to North London. Problem is he did come, but to the other team. There was a time we would raid Ligue 1 for the up and coming bargain buys, or possibly even a team fighting relegation for a good buy. Problem again is that happenned except the team was Newcastle. They bought Demba BA, Cabaye, Ben Arfa, list goes on. They are doing quite a lot with much less of a budget. Sure they are not challenging for CL Football, but it goes to show what can happen if you really want it to. Swansea was another lesson today.

Most of us fans have a problem with HOW things are being done. Many of us are watching what is going on, and will hit them in the pocket where it hurts, until they act accordingly and improve. We will see attendance at the Emirates drop, and merchandise sales drop, and maybe even TV deals when they come up our slice will be affected. It only takes it hitting their pocket to spark change

Wenger has lost it. The ‘youth project’ is very much strange considering the fact that we sell layers from there even, and good ones. Nordtveit now is a key player at Monchen Gladbach.
Enough excuses about injuries and half the team out. We do not have good enough back ups, and he hardly rotates the squad which results in fatigue and cases like Vermaelen and Wilshere.
He complains he cannot aford wages when Diaby gets 60k for watching games on TV (or does he not do even that?). Edinson Cavani is paid less than 40k, Modric is on 30k, and Walcott gets 65k. You cannot afford wages? Absolute crap!
Upon that we loan a player that plays 20 minutes for 6 weeks and helps sell some shirts. Henry, yes. We like him, but should he be here? I do not think so.
ARSENAL TILL I DIE and all that is okay, but you cannot be a blind follower. We can do better but the ’4th place trophy’ attitude to be satisfied with things and making ends meet is not going to take us anywhere.
If you cannot compete with the likes of mancity, chelses, manu financially, we are going nowhere.

We must do a complete overhaul starting from the top and getting rid of the board and owner. Then spend some money on at least 4 world class payers. We need a striker like benzema pato or damiao. Then a winger like hazard. Creative mid like gotze and a versatile defender. This can be funded by the sales of deadwood and a new ambitious passionate arsenal supporter like usmanov(kroenke just stays quiet during this crisis and never attends any matches. Disgrace)

For d 1st time i’ve to agree… Arsenal have become from bad to worse… against QPR and Wolves we played juz slightly better than d opponents and struggle to get the points… against Fulham, we’re only slightly better in the 1st half then Fulham came back in d 2nd half and played better than us and deserved their 2-1 win.
The worse was Swansea played better and Arsenal are outplayed for the ENTIRE match! this is a sorry state for Arsenal against a newly promoted team.
Arshavin, Ramsey, Mertesacker was terrible and Theo too if not for his goal…Arteta, Ramsey, Mertesacker, Djorou, Rosicky and few others are decent players BUT simply not good enough for a team with ambition to finish top 4 let alone to win the league…
If this goes on, we’ll surely miss the CL spot and soon our top players will leave and no top players wud want to join Arsenal (the board wouldn’t want to buy them anyway)… If this goes on, in few years to come, i wont be surprise if Arsenal will be involve in relegation fight…

And talking about things on the pitch, we talk about a lack of ‘PLAN B’. After watching the game you doubt whether there is even a plan. Substitutes start coming at the 67th minute dot no matter how the guys are playing. One or both of the wingers fail every game, now that Gervinho is away, both fail. Ramsey isn’t good enough( most dispossessed player in the league by the way). I am just talking about yesterdays game, but he just isn’t upto it. Song makes more decisive passes.
There is no use complaining, nobody is listening to us anyway.

There has been an uncomfortable feeling about Arsenal for the past five years maybe longer. The whole structure of the Arsenal Football club seems to be haemorrhaging deep down inside and we are getting used to bandaid treatment for deep seated cancer. What the answer is I don`t know but I do know drastic measures need to be taken and even then it will take a long while to heal. Three years ago I suggested that unless the problem was addressed Wenger would be singing to empty tables. It`s a big stadium to fill Arsene, but as you yourself once said “all things must end”.

I see a different problem, despite our depleted squad we still have a above average squad in terms of talent, a squad capable and able to comfortably beat the like of wolves, Fulham and Swansea on their day, (no disrespect to those teams. However we seem unable to get the best out of our players whether tactically or in terms of mind set and motivation, let me rephrase that, it seems our beloved coach can no longer get his tactics or personnel right, the even sadder part is that this problem will inflict whoever star we buy, he will shine the first games and thats that, he will be dross after that, the evidence is there for all to see. I think wenger needs a second opinion from someone he can trust and pat rice is not helping, we are in trouble guys!!!

Is Arsenal a team in decline with Arsene as coach?
I understand and appreciate what he did in the past, but i am worried by what he is doing to it now. This is trully pathetic from one of the highest paid coaches in the world.
I would be more positive if I could see what the plan that he is working towards is. Are we building a better squad for tomorrow? In which case I expect this would be the chance to bring in Botelho, Hoyte, Wellington and all the other youth players he has spent so much bringing (they are the same age as Jerkinson) to cover for the wing backs?
There is no flow to formation nothing from midfield except Song’s runs and passing, no movement upfront, once RVP is marked out everyone else seems to think they should not get into the box.
What is Wenger thinking or trying to do? An answer to that would stop all this pessimism. We know we have the players to win this provided he doesn’t sell them soon, but do not deliver on the pitch.
I have seen better performances from the youngsters (Lansbury, Henderson, Yennaris, MIquel, Sanchez, Coquelin, Oxlade and co) but their chances are few and far between in. Ramsay has had a great season but he cant play well in every game. New formations, line ups, signings, ideas?

the true is we have become average team like everton, aston villa etc. We were strugleling against small team n big team..no one fear us anymore just like the old day when we had one goal lead the opponent had no hope. But this arsenal was different. When we lead the opponent become more attacking n we have been bullied by the team.. The fact is we are now not the team that anyone afraid of.. Every team enjoy played against us… Because we was easily beaten

Against Fulham our performanced are 50-50 but against Swansea we are totally outplayed, outgutted and outsmart entirely, that showed the deterioration on our level of played. We the supporter know it and Wenger acknowledged it. The problem is what are we going to do about it. leave it be from bad to worst or fit it.

In the entire first half of this season, like Adam Kemp I decided to refrain from commenting anything on this blog as it might have been perceived as negative by AW lickers…..
We went through motions of upheaval till Dec – we had a horrid start… mauling from Man U ( which in my lifetime I would never forget 7 still have horror-dreams about it ) – then some panic signing on the last day ( AW realised that he just HAD to do it ) – believe me, if we had not started so shakily, even these signings would not have happened…. And last minute signings speak very poorly of the planning part that our great club is renowned for.
I am devastated at the last 2 losses – against Fulham & Swansea… we should have picked up 6 points…we actually gor screwed….
Look at Spurs – they are 10 points ahead of us…forget the top 2 positions… it is so difficult to accept that until Spurs become suicidal like us, we would not be able to close them down…. Man City 7 Man U are beyond our reach …and if we keep playing like this, Chelasea would also surge ahead….
I don’t know what to say – but may be for our club’s good – I guess this season we should finish below top 4 ..then people ( AW lickers )would hopefully understand the vanity of that old cow & realise the pipe-dreams that they have been breeding under this rascal’s tutelage…..
What excuse ha shas now after Swansea game ?
We were completely outbeaten by their style…till 81 mins, they had 59% possession of the game & created many chances… they outplayed us in every dept….
What benchstrength do we have – we have Theo Walcott who would remain a boyhood charm all his life…he did nothing in 90 mins except for that goal…. AOC came as subs & showed he has much more firepower than Theo…
Arshavin – now this has become a joke…The professor keeps defending him & he keeps psssing on the field…what a mockery of a player he has turned out to be…he needs to be booed ( like he was yday when taken off ) everytime he takes the field..Benayun & he has got past the expiry date…. we had useless jokjers like Theo, Benayun 7 Arshavin in our midfield yesterday against a lively Swansea…what kind of a formation is that… I am not anything w.r.t AW as a Manager/Coach – but even a fan can understand where our problems lie…
Have you seen Djorou – he looked like a goat tied with a knot…i acceot he is not a natural Right back, however his control is so poor & reading the game is so horrible….
We have a 3rd grade bench0strength & unless we orchestrate a major change, more gloom would set in ….

@Adam Kemp and Asif. Agree. The thing is people forget that 6 years ago, Arsenal were the best team in Europe, next to perhaps Barca and Madrid. Now you would think a manager who created half of that invincibles team (he inherited an already established and solid defesne) he would keep it that way. I mean the amount of money we made off Henry, Viera, Pires, Petit etc, you would think they would invest into keeping those types of caliber players. Sure make a decent profit off them, but replace them with equally talented players. This has been our downfall. Wenger struck it lucky with a few budget buys a few seasons ago, and now he think he can take a monkey and transform it into the next Zidane. It also doesn’t help mentoring youth for 6-8 years just to have them leave your club when they are at their peak.
People are saying Wenger has not been given sufficient resources to do his job properly and blame it solely on the board. That is partly true, but Wenger too is in on the whole thing. Think about it. If you are a manager and love your team and want the best for them, you would do everything in your power to do so. If the board were not giving me the resources and funds I needed to do my job properly and make a success of the club, I would be highly irritated, especially when I am the one getting flak for poor results. I would rather go to another club who will give me what I need to do my job properly. But now at Arsenal, Wenger doesn’t make a peep about him not getting enough funds. He lies and keeps saying we are going to make quality buys in the window. That is just a smokescreen to keep us fans happy. Then when he doesn’t he makes up more lies and excuses about why he never signed. I’m telling you now, Wenger makes money for the board, and the board look after Wenger extremely well. Why else would a manager still be in charge of such a prestige club as Arsenal for 7 seasons without winning anything? Put two and two together AKB’s.

Welcome back, i like you also took a break because when the team started flattering to decieve i thought it’d be a bad idea to deny the blind optimists their day in the sun, but the fact is this team has struggled throughout the season even against fodder. More impressive and stronger arsenal teams have bombed consistently,as such i see no reason to expect delivery from the weakest arsenal team in the wenger era. The midfield especially is pathetic &i shudder to contemplate the attack when RVP has to take a break.

bloody hell ive never agreed with this man(Kemp) however some of the things he has said are true, and i dont want to admitt this, i want to lie. Mr Wenger will always be a great for Arsenal, but perhaps the time is coming for a change? i hope he can change things around, because he no matter his way of managing the club up to now, is very devoted to us, he deserves to win with Arsenal, but if things continue the way they are, i dont see Le prof winning anything. But having said that, I fully back Wenger as long as he is in charge, no matter how much pain or sadness it gives me to see us under achieve season after season, Mr Wenger is a big part of Arsenal, and without him winning something would be great but not special. Mr Wenger deserves a cup win more than any1else.

Hi Folks!
We are suffering these embarrassing defeats to lower placed teams because of our manager’s stubbornness in keeping his failed Russian dead wood in key games. Please, all genuine Arsenal supporters should think back to the last time we won a game this season, with Arshavin starting? Incidentally, it was against the same Swansea team that we lost against yesterday. Each time since then that, Arshavin starts, we either draw, or get beaten. It is obvious to all but not Wenger that, this chap is crap and will not help our effort his term. He should be bold and accept that, his acquisition of Arshavin has not met the expectation of all, and stop using him in games. He has an opportunity, through this transfer window to offload this crap player called Arshavin. If he cares to know. his insistence of using Arshavin is causing serious pain to us the real supporters. Yesterday, was a prime example of how this useless player is causing us pain. After taking the lead in a game we should have won, this useless player carelessly gave away possession in midfield which eventually lead to Aaron Clumsey conceding a needless penalty. Note the change of name for Ramsey to Clumsey, because he will be the subject for another day.
For how long will this Sadist of a manager continue to rip the hearts out of Arsenal supporters, by selecting this lazy and seemingly useless Arshavin ahead of our promising young talents. Now to the real issue plaguing the Arsenal. Yesterday, we paraded a team that, initially had only one English player amongst its ranks. Arsene Wenger’s dislike for English players is now all too apparent with the Gary Cahill saga. I think Wenger’s project at Arsenal has ran its course and the time to say good bye is probably now. i have been an Arsenal fan since 1979, looking at the shape of our team and the way things are playing out, the best league placing for us this season will be 6th. The board should start the search for a new coach and grant Wenger a graceful exit out of the marble halls at the end of the season, so that the rebuilding of our great team can begin in he off season.

@Jason re Injuries.
Doesn’t it occur to you that injury is an excuse for Arsenal failure not this season but EVERY season in the last 7 years, without a single exception. It can’t be just like an accident or a lack of fortune.
Is it a convenient excuse or is there something dreadfully wrong with the training regime or with the medical team? Or is it due to the lack of squad depth and squad quality that results in overplaying good players until they are crippled. Who is responsible for this perpetual malaise in your opinion?

Faith is something I put in God… Not a self important delusional denier like wenger who blames poor results on tiredness, injury, the weather, referees, the fans, the economy, the transfer window, man city, the FA….. Everything but his crap and now defunct management.
Seriously, when we miss out on top four, what are he and idiot gazidis going to say then? Our ‘mental strength’ is the same as winning a trophy? We have the best travel access in the premiership? Its an achievement to be on channel five?
Wenger is a deluded charlatan back by an old etonian board who still think we’re in the glory 1930′s when we were ‘The Arsenal’ and it was a privellege to play for them.

I have been a critique of Adam Kemp for his Wenger’s perception, but on this one I totally agree with him. Wenger must wake up and leave to stay in the past… Arsenal is the team which has qualified for Champions league for the past eleven years consecutively, we have received big monies from UEFA, we have sold big players from, Thierry Henry, Viera, Kolo Toure, Adebayo, Ashley Cole, Fabregas, Nasri just to mention a few, we are talking of over 150Million GBP here for the past six years… now look at the players we have acquired replacing these players, Arshavin, Arteta, Mertsacker, Santos, if we sum up the cash used, its about 60Million GBP… making huge profits, more than 500%… by keeping these under class players we think we can compete with Man United, Barca, Real Madrid, Man city, AC Milan, No no no no no not even our Neighbours, Spurs can we match them, we are very far… What is remaining with our club is just a name, “Gunners” otherwise the performance of Arshavin, Walcott, Ramsey, Djourou is not world class, the only players who are world class in our team as of now only four players, Van Perse, Vermalin, Song and the goalkeeper, otherwise we need to invest at least a bit cash like 70 Million GBP now on world class three players and and at least raise the weekly wages to at least 120 thousand GBP per week. Look at a player like Solomon Kalou, wants 90ks yet our captain the EPL top goal scorer receives 70ks, thats very pathetic, its like slavery in metric system… the shareholders and the board must revisit their policies, or they should just sell the team to people like Abrohimavich or the Sheikh of Man shittttt otherwise we will be out of any competition by March, out of champions, out of FA and we will be the mid table team waiting to Europa leauge

Adam, by the first comment that has answered your article, you should have realised that it was going to be a difficult task to change some mentalities….
Some Arsenal fans have only known Wenger and are happy to see him stay even if he is, clearly, messing things up…
It is also a cultural problem or being, because it has been known that fans in London don’t like to have their world shake up… Even if it is not working well.
Despite the horrible season, we are having ( yes “horrible” because as a football fan, i am not paying the most expensive ticket seat in Europe to watch that “disgusting” football display )
Anyhow, we all know ( I mean the ones who love the club and are not deluded and addicted to mediocrity ) that Wenger is not going to bring anything more at the table, so he should take his plates and leave.
I still don’t know why the club was sold to Kroenke because it is clear that it was a “pure” business move. He is absent and not involve. The board made sure to sell it to him because they knew that Usmanov would have shake the place up.
I don’t want to be rude or disrespectful, but Arsenal fans have to realised that it is time to take actions and hit the board and Wenger where it hurt the most… The purse.
WE SHOULD STOP BUYING MERCHANDISING AND DRASTICALLY REDUCE THE ATTENDANCE OF THE EMIRATES.
AS LONG AS THE NUMBERS ARE CLICKING, WE WON’T HAVE ANY CHANGES.
By the way, Van Persie, announced that it was ( more surely ) is last year at the club.
I agree and support him, because it is the road of our best players ( even Henry left because he knew the cycle was over ). Fabregas, Nasri, Clichy and more all left not because they did not love the club ( despite what people think, Nasri asked for a renewal 6 months before the summer market, but Wenger was too busy pleading some deadwoods to stay), but because they knew that they were not going to win a thing with Arsenal.
Were they wrong?

look at the players that are playing in sides above us or who have left for better things. Look at the lack of quality of signings and the number of players who showed promise but have left due to being not good enough. Look from the bottom to the top of the tree and it appears the scouting system and injury support is failing;the players are not good enough or too injury prone and the manager is failing either due to stubborness or lack of committmentment to spending by the board.
It needs a complete rethink through a change of management

@ Adam Kemp
You’ve been quiet these past few months because all you did during preseason was stick it to Wenger during times of our suffered nadir. Wenger turned our season around & you had nothing more to say, but now that we’ve experienced a bit of adversity over the last few weeks, it’s funny how you’ve come in again to drop another bomb on the team and Wenger. Fair enough you’re not impressed with Fab’s replacement in Arteta as most of us agree, but let me remind you that the only person that can replace Fabregas in the team is Xavi. They’re arguably the 2 best midfielders in the world.
You stated, “It is embarrassing to comprehend that Tottenham will finish above us in the league and that is a sign of severe failure. Forget seven seasons without a trophy!”
The focus should be on reaching the top of the EPL ladder RATHER than finishing above Tottenham. So if Tottenham come 10th, are we happy with 9th? LOL… even if they came 3rd, are we satisfied with 2nd? Hell NO! Our priority should be trying to win trophies and not worrying about being above Tottenham. Setting Tottenham as a benchmark would be our failure!
Still 14 days left in the transfer window. The last transfer window at this point, all you were doing Kempie boy was criticising Wenger and telling us how poor the team will be. Wenger shut you up for 2 months. Within the next 14 days, Wenger will shut your trap again, because as much as you hate him, he’ll keep proving you wrong again and again.
Love Wenger, Love Arsenal, Gunner for Life.

WAKE UP AND REALISE THAT FINANCIALLY WE CANT COMPETE WITH CITY, CHELSEA ETC AND THE ONLY WAY WE WILL STAY NEAR THE TOP IS BY HAVING SOMEONE LIKE WENGER IN CHARGE WHO CAN GET/MAKE PLAYERS LIKE CESC, NASRI, WILSHERE INTO WORLD CLASS FOOTBALLERS, IF YOU WANT TO SUPPORT A TEAM THAT SPENDS MILLIONS ON ONE PLAYER EVERY WINDOW THEN WHY NOT JUMP SHIP AND GO TO MANCHESTER, BECAUSE YOUR OBVIOUSLY NOT DOING A VERY GOOD JOB AS AN ARSENAL FAN!

The facts are we are in decline and have been for a number of years. Until the board and the manager are prepared to do something about that and stop making smug self satisfied statements about how great we are, we will continue to go into decline. So I agree with Adam it will probably get worse before it gets better. It seems that as long as you’re (the board) making a profit and earning £7 million a year (the manager), you will drag things out as long as possible.

You seem to think that being loyal equates to cheering on mediocrity. You seem to suggest that anyone who does not support wenger, must want £200 mill spent every summer.
Please don’t assume that loyalty is commensurate with acceptance. Yes there are some naive reactionary opions, but the removal of criticism or critique is just as blind and foolish.
Wenger has been found lacking. End of.

so are you genuinely telling me that by not going to games and trying to teach the board a lesson its going to help?
I agree that I think wenger should spend money and I want him to but the fools who say we should boycott games clearly arent 100% arsenal. Surely you have to agree that being a true fan is support the club no matter whats happening. 16 years of CL and the one time we might not get it people believe we should boycott games and wenger should be sacked, its pathetic

Regardless of whether Arsenal get CL or not (very likely),
My annoyance is not purely out of lack of trophies… But moreso the lies yes lies from wenger and gazidis and the directionless way the club is going. Afc charge top dollar but sell every star player they have without even so much as a struggle. We then invest in youth who we then later sell anyway or loan out into oblivion. If football was not a competetive sport then fine, great experiment wenger. But it is competitive and frankly Arsenal are not competitive enough.
The board and wenger have been deceitful and played on fans loyalty too long.

my primary concern is:
How come Almunia, Squillaci, Chamack, Diaby, Rosicky still players we feature????
We CANT have rosicky, arshavin and benayoun that is just financially and tactically stupid. And I believe arteta is no cesc replacement but definitely the replacement of both diaby and rosicky whom we have rarely seen.
I believe Park’s situation is a bit unfair, but it seems that he is not the solution however.

It is something the fans can not expalain because you can not tell me wenger is not seeing the obvious. By the way , if we do not take a step, the team is headed for doom and wenger wants the world to think that he operaytes from the rare not the common football sense of buying good players if you want good results. He is just cheap and greedy because he wants to hit a certain profit margin and becomes a shareholder. Remember one time Ferguson lebeled him mad over van nestrooy and also maurinho called him a sick vouyer, so I hope we are dealing with the right man. otherwis who would not sense arsenal problems currently and listen to people crying for thei club.BE AFRAID ARSENAL MAY FALL COMPLETLY UNDER WENGER

Well said Stoogefinder.
Ive been wating for Campy, Baz and Dickhead Berkamp to start their moronic stupd comments again. They had to wait until we slipped from fourth to fifth after telling everyone we were doomed to relegation early on in the season.
Got some great news for you charlies, we will have the fpllwing “new” players back by end of February….Wilshere,Verm,Sagna,Jenkinson,Santos,Gervinho and they are all (apart from Jenks) first team choices.
I think the biggest traitor is Adam Kemp because he only comments when we have a negative situation. Who do you really support?
You say it will only get worse and then I give you those players above who are all coming back from injury. If you were a true gooner you would know this but you either ignore it to make your point or dont know the situation.
So lets sack Arsene (and I ask yet again) and then what?
I know Campy,Baz and Dichead can run the club. ha ha ha ha ha. IN ARSENE WE TRUST EVEN WITH HIS MISTAKES.

Guys it’s nt bout being pessimistic. Is Arsenal a one man club? No one is irreplacable and that too applies to the manager.. Can’t u (A.K.B) see that each yr you are lowering your standards. EMERY has pointed out that for the 1st tym in 16 ys we are not going to play C.L (not in top 4) and we are crucifiyin Wenger. Really?! The previous excuse used by A.K.B (then we were in top 3) was ‘we haven’t won the EPL and we crucifying Wenger.’ Are u that blind to see that even your expections have fallen and keep plummeting. In 2 season’s time u wil be telling us ‘we are just above mid table and we are crucifyin Wenger’ Such cavalier attitude from u, management and Wenger is leadin this once great club into oblivion.

Kemp is my man any day any time.He has the interest of the club and he hit the nail on the head and am convinced if Arsene change his way,Kemp will sing a new song for him.I like his write ups and i have missed it a great deal.Think of this, which manager in a top club will still be after seven years of fruitless effort and misfortune.Only a board like arsenal and a manager like Wenger stays despite taking the club to such abysmal state. This a manager who lies to fans every season.the worst is here and we are eagerly waiting for his next antics.I wrote earlier that he is only using our legend TH14 as a cover for not buying a prolific attacker to compliment RVP even when it is obvious that we need one urgently.Which sensible manager will wait until the worst happen before he start assembling available and cheap players? If we cannot conveniently win teams as Wolves,Fulham,Swansea and even Blackburn,is it the star studded team as Man City,Man U or the dreaded Totte that we will use to achieve his so called top 4?How do we even convince RVP to commit to arsenal and play in the Europa league next season.i feel sad because Wenger inherited fantastic set of players but gradually introduced his bad economic policy that has brought nothing but misfortune.Only arsene will travel round the world and will not find a quality player to sign,it piss me off whenever he make such comment because i know it is full of deceit. Where was Wenger when Aguero was sold,SIlver was sold, even Mata was begging to come to arseanl.People are yearning for Hazad,Gotze,Ventoghen,Podolski,Cahill,Mvilla,Reus, instead he went to Oman to bring Mr Nobody who may be cheap for cheap performance. He sold our best players, from Pat Viera to Nasri and replace them with mediocres. If he is not blaming uefa for failing to implement financial fair play,he will question the essence of january transfer window or better still blame man city and Chelsea for spending so much money all because of his stingy nature.Only Wenger will identify talents for others to buy cos it will take him several years to ascertain his worth.Enough of this retrogression.GUNNERS 4 LIFE.

Yeah thanks man. I totally agree with you. People who identify themselves as so-called Arsenal supporters but love kicking the team and manager when they’re down. If you love your team, then it’s like a marriage; support through thick and thin. Would you criticise your wife if she had problems or do you support her to better ways? And so logic prevails yet again!
Where’s S.H when you need him to stick it to these guys? I recall reading some of S.H’s comments before the season started and he was one of few that supported Wenger all the way. I think he stuck it to Kemp, Baz and Asif as well. Funny how these knob heads went quiet when Wenger turned the season around and now that we’ve lost 2 in a row, they decide to open their mouths again, without the thought of their initial public embarrassment. Please S.H give us your thoughts!

It’s a shame to see so many fans quickly turn on their team and manager through tough times. I’m with you guys on supporting Wenger. There are many other factors that some ignorant people can’t understand due to lack of education with economics and world sports business. I actually had to write an article which should be live on justarsenalfans.com in a few hours as this site only advocates Wenger-haters like Adam Kemp, Baz and Asif. I’ve submitted my article which is an objective view from this above jargon of ignorance but I know the admin won’t post it due to their inclinations to support Kempsta. I hope they can prove me wrong and give the other side of the coin a fair go.
One thing Stoogfinder did mention that I thought was interesting is the fact that Kemp and Asif hid away in their little holes when our team was making a sound comeback, then we lose two consecutive games, and they pop up again as if to say, “I told you so”. LOL, well it’s only a matter of time before they crawl back in their little burrows and Wenger proves them stupid again!
(ADMIN COMMENT – That’s a little harsh on JustArsenal S.H. as everyone knows that I believe in free speech and encourage lively debate. I certainly don’t take sides, and as you said yourself the last couple of months the site has had no “Arsene-haters” around….

Well the reason why there have been little signs of Wenger-haters in the last 2 months is because they haven’t had anything negative to add until now.
It’s quite transparent that in this site’s defence, you’ve had to show your diplomatic ways, which is understandable as after all you want to appear positive in the eyes of your readers. Can I just ask who is Adam Kemp and what importance does he hold to this site? I’ve read many other articles that should be pasted on this blog rather then the branched-out justarsenalfans.com site which is in no way any disrespect to Nitesh who does a great job. There are obviously more readers on this site.
If you are really fair and “don’t take any sides” as you state, then why not post my article on this blog site as a response to Kemp’s article? It’s only fair that readers get an insight of two different sides to the coin right? If you believe in free speech then why not present it? My questioning the values of this site is not to stir the pot, but rather to express why we keep on reading views that are subjective and not objective.

The truth is plain to see, the people running the club don’t give a stuff about the fans’ idea of Arsenal Football Club, they only care about AFC plc. Wenger serves them quite nicely at the moment, as soon as the profits go he and ‘I know bugger all about football and care even less’ Gazides will go. Yo Adam, you realize of course that the morons who have worshiped this overrated frenchman are finally disappearing into the woodwork?!! Now maybe we can convince these donkeys that we gooners must work collectively to either get this wanker out of the club or completely overhaul his ways. I have been saying for at least 3 seasons that the best way to achieve this is to hit them where it hurts most – in their pockets. Wenger realizes that this will be the course of action that the fans will now take – hence his pathetically veiled attempt to try and rally support for the team. All this crap about the lads needing to know that the fans are behind them etc – its a smokescreen. What he is really trying to do is to rally support for himself! He is a lying bastard who will not stoop to hoodwinking the fans to keep the Board’s (and vicariously therefore his) pockets lined at the expense of the fans. But really, can we blame him? He has been tasked by the Board to do this. His job is NOT really to coach or manage a winning team. His job is to keep the money rolling in. Who else will give him a job at about 6 million quid a year without having to achieve anything in the game itself? So come on Gooners – WAKE THE FCUOK UP! We HAVE TO WORK TOGETHER TO GET THE CLUB TO DO WHAT IS NEEDED! DON’T LET THEM GET THEIR HANDS ON OUR MONEY!

Hey Adam – here’s my response to S.H’s rubbish. I hope you will post it as I doubt S.H will have the courage to publish my comments:
Absolute codswallop mate! You make wild and unsubstantiated assumptions about the finances of the club without any facts and numbers to back your claims. Don’t try and make it seem like you have some crystal ball or that you are so well connected to the powers that be at the club that you have some privileged insight into the nitty gritty of the club’s finances. You talk about needing to “know the reality of the current situation” … what exactly do you know about the reality of the current situation?? And pray tell – what is your source of information? You say – “They’ve invested in the infrastructure of the club and it’s a sustainable model.” Really?? How have you come to that conclusion??
But you also say – “Everything goes through its highs and lows as nature will always find a way to balance itself through karmic magnetism or fated universal equilibrium if you will.” Oh so – its not really about bad management or good economics or sustainable models then?? – Its all karmic equilibrium mumbo jumbo??!! Sorry, – what exactly do you believe here??
Here’s another cracker from you – “We need to understand that ANY professional team has the highest goal in surviving and prolonging its history. That means, not only competing at the highest levels, but ensuring the club’s name lives until this world reaches its inevitable demise.” Oh right, so you also have insider information from divine sources about the demise of this world! Wow! Then all this drivel that you have spouted, couched in “educated and informed” language to try and impress the few remaining morons who still blindly believe in Wenger, must be absolutely spot on!
Then you make a pathetic attempt to justify our abysmal run in the last 7 seasons – here’s what you said – “Comparing our 6 year drought to Man City’s trophyless run of 35 years (until last year winning the FA Cup), Tottenham not winning the league in 50 years, Man Utd went through 26 years without winning the league and Liverpool 21 years without an English premier championship.” So in your tiny little mind – its okay for us to perform pathetically for 20 or 30 seasons because other teams have done so?!!! It shouldn’t matter then that we could – eg. – easily solve our defensive weaknesses if we had a manager who actually knew what he was doing, and therefore NOT perform badly?! Nah! its ok NOT to address obvious problems because its ok to perform badly, other teams have, so why not us??
I could go on and on and rip your silly article to shreds mate – but I won’t bother. You must be one of a legion of Arsene’s arse lickers on his payroll! SH – GO TAKE A FLYING LEAP INTO THE NEAREST LAKE!

No doubt & no longer news that Arsenal parades fringe players. What is the essence of Wenger defending and keeping players that has not and can not uplift their games season after season. Chamakh,Ashavin, squllaci,Diabi and Djoru put together (sold)can get us three quality players that will change the ugly face of Arsenal. I ask, is it trials, experiments, weak and shaky team of the present, that produced the invincible? How many of the big 4 + spur that will house above misfiring and miscuing players? how can you sit there and make accusations such as Wenger is overated, he doesnt know what hes doing etc. You are possibly the most single minded, moronic, idiot I have ever seen on these blogs!
The man is one of the most successful managers in the world and has single handedly made us a top european team. What other manager has managed to acheive what he has based on the budgets hes worked with?
I dont seem to recall you posting these sorts of comments once he managed to turn our dreadful start around, I dont seem to recall you coming on here are we beat Chelsea at Stamford Bridge saying he should still go, or how we were the first english team to get through the group stages of the CL, surely Utd should sack Fergie because of that?
Tell me this, who would you put in charge if you were to sack Wenger and I guarentee you out of the possible candidates NONE would be as good as him.
Arsenal football club would be a better team if you were not a fan considering the lousy job you seem to be doing, ive said it time and time again, not even 50% of the people on here would support Arsenal if we were to be playing in the championship, you support a club through rought times as well as good and just because we have lost two games in a row suddenly all the scummy Wenger haters come crawling out and try to prove themselves right, if you dont like it then go and support someone else you pathetic excuse of a so called fan!

How interesting it has been reading these blogs. I guess Arsenal fans are a true representation of society as a whole, united by a single cause but at times passionate in their disagreement about how best to achieve it.
I’ve been following this club for nearly 33 years (yes, I know, a latecomer) since seeing Alan Sunderland score the late winner against Man U in the 79 cup final. Well I thought that was really something and decided this was a club to follow. Since then I’ve had the pleasure of seeing the lads in person at Highbury and the Emirates, but mostly on TV from the other side of the globe (Tasmania). But I suffer the anguish arising from current performances no less acutely than local fans.
During a tour of the Emirates in late 2008 the guide told us that AW had a job for life. That surprised me, surely no manager can be assured of that. I trust that wasn’t a true indication of the club’s position. Should he go? By EPL standards probably yes, but who would do any better, particularly if hamstrung by a tight-fisted board? I would hate to see Arsenal resort to buying a title like Chelsea did and Man City will probably do this year. Once their funds dry up, they will inevitably decline into mid-table mediocrity where they belong. It’s easy to say I know but I think the answer lies in striking a balance between developing youth/generally bringing mediocre players on and buying established stars. It may be that AW is doing too much of the former just at the moment.
I believe there are only three big clubs in England, Man U, Liverpool and Arsenal. History demonstrates that. While Man U has been very successful recently, Liverpool hasn’t won a title for over 20 years. Imagine how its fans are feeling. Worse, imagine supporting some no-account team for life that never wins anything, and plenty of people do! Yet the true fan stays loyal. Relatively speaking the Arsenal fan should not find it difficult to stay loyal.
Are things really that bad at Arsenal? In the broader context probably not. But I do agree that the present team does not appear to command respect or instil fear (even at home) as past teams have always done, and that’s the real shame of it. Once people start looking at Arsenal as just another run-of-the-mill team, something needs to be done. It must never lose its status as one of the three big clubs in England.

Seems to me that Wenger can still spot talent, it’s that he’s no longer allowed by the board to spend to acquire that talent. Only that embarrassment to ManU spurred them to action.
Wenger seems to have been undermined by his own success developing young players, since the board thinks he can perform miracles while they rake in ridiculous profits.
I hope it doesn’t take another embarrassment to ManU to acquire some help before the January window closes.
