Adam Kemp: Wenger’s summer of failure means more misery for Arsenal fans
Adam Kemp – Pathetic management from the most delusional has been in football.
Many of you readers may have been wondering where I have been hiding this past month. I did say I would give Mr Wenger the opportunity to prove me wrong and strengthen the squad as promised. I told you in June that we would not make significant improvements to the squad. I told you that we were going to continue our trend of losing key stars to our rivals. I am getting pretty fed up of being right as I want this club to finally prove its critics wrong. With Wenger in charge there will only be more hypocrisy coming from his boring mouth. This is the worst summer as a lifelong fan that I have ever witnessed under his reign. If Arsenal does not strengthen drastically then I can confirm we will finish fifth at the expense of the revitalised Liverpool.
Arsene has made one decent signing this summer in Gervinho, which simply is not enough considering last season’s demise. He has brought in another couple of young stars in the mould of Jenkinson, Oxlade-Chamberlain and Campbell whom are possibly stars of tomorrow. We do not need any more potential prodigy’s as we need to lift a trophy this season.
We all know that we need several experienced players in defensive areas to provide that balance and solidity to the team. We were promised an ‘active’ summer where signings would be announced before the season starts. As usual this was complete rubbish and further lies that comes from the Arsenal management.
Arsenal cannot even wrap up deals for average players from lower pedigree clubs, which is an embarrassment towards our lethargic and predictable transfer policy. Why have we not signed the required key players that simply need to challenge and be successful? It is because we do not offer the right transfer fee and haggle for a bargain. We would rather save a few pennies than buy efficiently to provide success.
We are about to lose Samir Nasri and Cesc Fabregas to our rivals for modest transfer fees imminently. I am angered at how this has been managed by the club and Wenger. Cesc is a world cup winning player whom is regarded as one of the finest players on the planet. His true market value is in excess of c. £60 Million. Why are we held to ransom to sell him for half of his market value to a club that has no dignity towards Arsenal? Do we need the £30 Million that desperately? It is not like we would ever spend it on anything of importance. If I was in charge I would not sanction the deal and place him on the transfer list. I would offer him to all clubs and sell him to the highest bidder. If he decided not to go then I would place him in the reserves until his contract ran out. Arsenals are powerless to do the logical and ethically correct thing.
Nasri wants to go and for seven years that key players become frustrated with this teams failure to land silverware. He is following the trend of establishing yourself at the Arsenal Training School before being fed to clubs that harbour ambitions to deliver trophies to its fans. How long will it be before Van Persie becomes a Man City player? Wilshere will probably leave when he develops into one of the best players on the planet. Whilst we have to pay the highest ticket prices and see our flaws year after year take precedence. Arsenal are about to lose two of our best three players in a summer of complete failure. We were promised that we would keep our best players and strengthen the key areas. So far we are losing our best players and have not strengthened in the key areas. Can any of you honestly say you are happy supporting this team? A team that is not up to the required standards to wear the crest of the club.
If Arsenal loses our key duo and we do not effectively replace them with world class stars then we will not make the top four. We will not have the strength in depth and the balance to finish above our rivals. We are on the brink of a meltdown and I can guarantee that we will struggle to deliver any silverware next season. The future may look bright for Arsenal in terms of young talents emerging; however the present is quite frankly miserable and unambitious. I think all of you Wenger loyalists will soon begin to give up on supporting his failure of a philosophy soon.
It’s a sad day for all Arsenal fans as we are on the brink of an even worse season than last year. I hope Wenger can sleep at night knowing he has truly ruined the legacy he built as Mr Invincible!

Kemp! stop reminding us of our failures! Yes! It is true we will go truophyless again. Yes! it is true Arsenal is all about making profit. Yes! It is true Wenger has been lying about bringing quality players. Yes! We may not make top 5 this season. Yes! Losing our 2 best players for profit and buying mediocres is what we are known for. Yes! Yes! Yes! We fans, like our AW is too proud to admit that we are no longer taken serious by anybody. But i believe we expecially the fans will soon wake up from the days of the invicible and realize we are in a crisis. THAT’S HOPE

Lets look at the positives!
1, Gervinho,Campbell,Jenkinson,Chamberlain
and Ryo Miyaichi are all new signings.
2. we have Vermaelen, Ramsey and Frimpong back!
3 we have at least £80million (cesc+nasri+orginal kitty) for new players.
4. Szczesny’s first full season as our no.1
I believe we are couple of world class signings away from a team that can challenge for everything. We now have a huge squad. With much more strength in depth.

I know its not good to do business in such late window, but I believe replacement + strengthener will arrive on time, we will cope with all this just like before. Because we are ARSENAL!!!
If you don’t like it just go, Arsenal will remain, so do I remain support Arsenal in happiness and sorrow.

Adam kemp is already craking. Hes not MAN enough to be an arsenal fan. All he does is moaning. Hes bottling it. Just like the rest of you looser fans. Cant take the heat can you ? Bottlers! you are like the Denilson of fans. Cant run. cant pass. cant do anything. Wish we could sell you like we sold denilson.
What do we need denilson fans for?
Especially the likes of Darule… such a bottler.

You call yourself an Arsenal supporter yet you speak a load of c**p. I would’nt mind if you had the experience and knowledge to coach and manage a professional premier league team, or any team come to that. Your all about blaming wenger and board, and you seem to forget it is the players that lose the game, the manager and board do not play on the field. And you obviously do not understand the complexities in negotiating transfers. Do not be surprised if Arsenal finish in top three.

Had anyone else seen what AW has had to say about Mata this morning?? Along the lines of ” we won’t be signing him and I don’t have to give a reason why not” this sort of thing infuriates me and honestly make me think AW doesn’t give a shit about the arsenal fans. Surely other fans are feeling frustrated???

All of you ridiculing him are quite frankly a bunch of delusional idiots. Just because we criticise our team it does not mean that we hate them. It shows more love and ambition for the game. It did not take a genius to predict that it would be another fruitless transfer window. On the eve of the premier league I am excited for the season to be back but definitely not excited for what we are about to witness this season.

Can any of you honestly say you are happy supporting this team? A team that is not up to the required standards to wear the crest of the club.
YES I can say that I’m happy supporting this team. I am an Arsenal supporter and will happily support them what ever the circumstances. Having followed Arsenal for the last 20 years I think I’m in a good position to judge our current predicament. This team, although not perhaps hitting the heights of previous Wenger sides, is full of quality and a million times more talented that those in the late George Graham era that had such greats as Ian Selley and Eddie McGoldrick (no disrespect).
Yes they have underachieved over the past 6 years but Is it really that bad that we haven’t won anything when we’re competing with the likes of Chelsea and Man Utd domestically? Bar Barcelona they’re probably the best two teams in world football with what seems unlimited cash to spend on players. We can’t compete financially on their level.
I’m a firm believer that this team is just missing some steel and could do with some experienced premier league performers to push us through the difficult moments of games against the likes of Stoke, Blackburn etc. Unfortunately these types of players – ones of Arsenal quality – are not available on the cheap. And I’m not talking the likes of Jagielka or Samba either, neither of which is good enough for Arsenal and certainly no improvement on what we have already (bar Squillaci). I’m talking about real quality, the likes of Vidic, Ferdinand, Terry, Essien, Giggs….and these types of players are almost impossible to purchase unless you have a spare 30-40m plus 200k wages. Again we can’t compete financially with the likes of Chelsea, Man Utd and now Man City.
Regardless if we have a choice or not the club is right to cash in on both Fabregas and Nasri. Fabregas cost us less than 1m so the reported deal of almost 40e with add-ons is not all that bad considering he has developed injury problems over the last 18 months. I for one won’t miss Nasri one bit, he is lazy, shows a lack of commitment on the pitch and disappeared in the second half of last season when things got tough. Arshavin and Walcott both outperformed him in terms of contribution so he won’t be missed. We have already added the excellent Gervinho and promising Miyaichi to cover his position and I’m sure Wenger will be considering someone to replace Fabregas.
Add to that Wenger has confirmed that he is trying to offload Eboue, Almunia and Bendtner, with Denilson already left the club. Isn’t this what fans were crying out for??
The transfer window is still open and although its not ideal that we haven’t concluded our signings I don’t think its been helped by the Fabregas situation. IF Wenger doesn’t sign a decent centre back by the 31-08 then I will be disappointed, however I will still put trust in him as manager and support the team.
As Arsenal fans we have been spoilt over the past 15 or so years and its time to remind ourselves that being a fan is about supporting the team through the good times and bad.
FFS we finished in the champions league places again last year, got to one final and challenged for the league up til April. Is it really all that bad?

I dont think Arsenal is loosing anything by selling Fab and Nasri.
Fab was shit most of last year compared to his former seasons and Nasri only played well in the Fall..After newyear he faded into obscurity.
I do beleave we allready have players in the current squad able to replace them. They might not be as flashy but that really doesnt matter, cause we have plenty of those allready.
I do beleave this year will be the year Ramsey prooves what he is made of. Not many players comes back from a year long injury like his and get both mentally and physically ready as fast as he has done. Especially the mental part is hard, and most players use a year or more before they are back to normal. And some players never get there.
That said ofc I see problems in our squad aswell. Its bad we dont really have a true winger that has experience. All our experienced in midfiled are either AMF (rosiscky, Arshavin) or Strikers (Walcott, Bendtner). Yes Bendtner was last season used most as wing. We have 2 youngsters that are true wingers but they probably need time to adjust to the pace and toughness of the PL.
Also its really bad we havent seen a CB signed, but seems like Arsenal need to have a sucky one in the squad. Just look at these names: Stepanovs, Cygan, Silvestre, Senderos and ofc Squillaci.
I still beleave the current squad will be able to finish in the top 4, but they will not win PL or CL. We simply have to many un-proven players, but as allways when some of the best leaves others will step up and take responsability.
Tbh Adam..U are worse than Colin Firths char in “Fever Pitch”..:)
No matter what, forever Arsenal

Adam is totally on the button here, I am sure Adam is a passionate fan and wishes he was wrong, so do I, but he is in touch with reality and says it as it is. The fans who disagree have 2 sides to their brains, the honest one which feels all these points too which they push to one side and refuse to think about, which knows the squad is too weak to win anything when there are 3 or 4 much stronger squads in the premiership, and the other side of the brain which is passionate about the team, wants to remain positive at all costs, and forces itself to believe that losing 2 of your best players does not matter, the same shabby defence will suddenly click into gear, stop conceding goals and we will start winning things. It’s like Adam being hired as a critic for judging people’s living rooms. If he said “mate, you need a new carpet here, this analogue tv clearly needs updating”, the honest half would say, “you are right there, but I can’t afford to update it”, they other half would know these points are all true, but would hide that info at the other half of their brain coz it hurts too much to think about it, and would sling him out by the neck.

To all the people supporting Wenger and criticising Adam: Look at the facts – 6 years without a pot. Inability to keep best players. Inability in the team to keep a lead.
And then consider: signings needed – an experienced goalkeeper, 2 premier league ready defenders.
What did we get? An ivorian striker who will be gone for the African Nartions, a teenaged fullback and a teenage costa rican striker.
And who are we likely to get: Scott Dann, a middling centre back from a relegated club.
Can all the people defending Wenger honestly say that this season is going to be any different to the last 6? Really????
Wenger is a man out of his time – the rest of the premier league has moved on, they sign players for need and they pay top dollar to secure the players they want. We do not. We haggle over a couple of million here and there and miss the players we need. It’s ridiculous and embarrassing.
Wenger needs to leave now and let somebody else have a go and run the club for today, not for a future that is often promised but never arrives.

Arsenal’s trophy winning goes in cycles. I am not sure when the next bout will be, certainly not in the current climate. I have now accepted that we are a business orientated, development and selling club. I now feel more comfortable seeing what is happening and it explains things more. Unlike many who want this and that player to be bought it aint that easy. There was a time when world class players would have joined on less money when Wenger was successful as the next best manager as we were ready to win things. Talented youngsters are what we are about because we are second to none in developing them and they know this. Three or four years under Wenger and double your stock value but then move on because Arsenal will not pay exhorbitant wages. Talented youngsters will not win anything over a long hard season…fact. Why was Viera not bought in last year and then onto the coaching mentoring staff like he has at Man City?. I hope the board are looking at a future similar role for Berkamp.

yeah beacause genuine fans never back the side when things are against them, you lot are pathetic and believe every single thing you read, Wenger said in a press conference, he WILL sign a CB, wether it happens tomorrow or in two weeks I dont care, give him some time!!! hes had bids rejected for CBs so he obviously wants to sign one, would you rather he went and blew 20m on a CB that turns out to be no more than average for us, or for him to scout some players out, pick the best option, then bargain a deal for 10m which then leaves us with more money for other players and the CB turns out to be a huge sucess, e.g. Vermaelen
the window hasnt shut yet so get of his back and support the team like true fans, this site is full of anti arsenal fans who seem intent on seeing the squad fail, if we were to be relegated half of you would jump ship and support someone else, you lot are the most plastic fans ever who thinks its the easiest job to be a manager when in fact its a lot more difficult than you all imagine

I would name this article- Arsenal’s summer of failure means more misery for Arsene Wenger. I have a simple question- since we all have over acquired knowledge about coaching a profesional football club. Who can replace Wenger as coach at the club.I do not see any ideal replacement..some of the names that where mentioned in few articles are managers of mid-table teams and some are even without a job. When we lose- I also try to analyse- what went wrong, show frustration, anger but my Club is the only football club that i know. May be i was not born as a gooner but i will surely die as one. I have to criticize Arsene bcoz results did not favour us but we should blame the team as well. Has players performed to there best- No. So this is the time when our team needs us the real ARSENAL die-hard fans the most.We should rally behind our team- push them to achieve more…True gooner will never ever boo their team. I dont care where we finish this season, who will be our coach next season, which players will leave..I WILL ALWAYS CHEER FOR MY TEAM AND WEAR MY ARSENAL SHIRT WITH PRIDE.

welcome back Adam it’s good to hear someone telling it like it is. Wenger seems hell bent on a path of self destruction, it’s he’s almost pathologically stubborn the problem is he’s taking the hopes and dreams of Arsenal fans with him and that pisses me off. I think we will do well to finish 6th with this current team as without Fabregas and Nasri we will struggle to score goals and without strengthening the defense we will struggle to avoid conceding them. Not a recipe for success despite everything the mad professor says.

Stumbled across this site thinking it was for Arsenal supporters. Is it? Critique is one thing but Arsenal busting is best left to the other red & blue teams in the Prem.
AW has delivered 2 doubles (1998 & 2002), an invincible league win in 2004, further FA cups in 2003 & 2004. He has also delivered finalist in the Champ leagues 2006, Finalist in Eufa cup 2000, Finalist in FA Cup 2001, Finalist in League Cup 2007, 2011. He has finished in the champions league places since 1998. Then there is the Youth cups of 200, 2001,2002. Oh did I also forget a world renowned 60 seater stadium.
Wenger bashing is very easy from the side lines. Those of us who have managed teams will know how difficult it is to build competitive squads. magnitude that with the money need in the premiership & champion’s league without a sugar daddy and living with the debt required to build the stadium which ensures our future for the next century.
I for one know we need a centre back, defensive Midfield and experienced playmaker) (as does AW). Arsenal is also a business. The transfer fee is only a small part of it balancing the clubs wage bill is the other. AW has being doing all this and competing with teams like Man City and Chelsea who happily break these rules in the short term in the hopes of generating future income. Remember Leeds Utd!!
AW warned us that the new stadium would restrict fund for 5 years. Look what he has achieved. Really would any other manager have delivered more within the same restrains. I believe not.
I have supported the arsenal for over 35 years. Let me tell you that times were a lot worst than these even when we were win the odd trophy. Give me the last 13 years any day. And I would take another 10 years. I will always positively support Arsenal. Again critique is OK it is what Football is about. Not this vindictive rubbish.

it is really interesting most managers who know there best players are leaving plan that they have ready replacements ready, wenger the idiot has waited just under two weeks to go before transfer market closes, and to date nobody of significance has joined, jardon IS NOT IN THE SAME MOLD AS FAB HE DOES NOT HAVE HIS ABILITY, again another of wengers cheap over rated players, i really hope wenger goes andtake the board with him and bring in a manager who is not afraid to spend money, i am fed up of paying over inflated prices to watch this mediocre team, we have beenpromised quality signings where the hell are they then? just more bull shit from this club, i m convinced and i have bet on it that we will be fighting relegation, again at newcastle it was evident our team is weak and lacks depth, we can not finish teams it is about time wenger woke up if not get out, you have ruined this club with the board to be succesful you dont sell your best players only to replace them with inadequate ones what you have shown is the lack of success you want to bring to this club all it is interested in is lining the pockets of certain people while ripping off the fans it is a disgrace that you have bought our club down to the levels of fulham bolton west ham etc etc enough is enough and get out we want a new manager who will buy the quality players
