Adebayor – Man City can beat Arsenal in our next game!

Posted on August 30, 2009 by admin

Manchester City won their third game in a row today to keep their 100% record for the season so far. The 1-0 win at Portsmouth was won with the only goal scored by the ex-Arsenal striker Emanuel Adebayor, and he has now scored three goals in his three games.

City’s next opponents after the international break are Arsenal, who sold Adebayor to Man City for £25m over the summer, and Adebayor believes his new team can carry on their success against his old club.

He said today: “When I came here all the players were working hard.

“They believed in my strength, they believed in my ability.

“At the moment I’m just working hard for the team and for the club.

“We have played three games and won three games so we’re very happy. We want to keep on going, keep on enjoying ourselves on the pitch.”

“I want to keep on enjoying myself, keep scoring goals for this club – especially as I will play against all my old friends – Gael Clichy, Alex Song, Emmanuel Eboue.

“It will be a tough game for us. We know how good Arsenal are. I think if we play with this motivation we have a chance to win because we are playing at home.”

City are playing well, and with Chelsea and Tottenham (who play each other on the same day) are the only teams with 100% records. Surely Arsenal will know how to stop Adebayor from Scoring?

loool yeah u want to stop adebayor from scoring.
tell him hes playing for arsenal again.
incompitatin prick how does he think they can ever beat us, arsenals team has been build from 2001 their team is brand new wat 3 months, at most a year they aint had the time to gel properly,

    COME ON GOONERS!

Wenger, plz sign a pure striker. We dont have any. All are link players who can score on their day. We need a man who is strong and can run at defenders at pace, beat offside traps and find the back of the net equally well. Eduardo doesnt have the pace or strength, RVP is a very deep lying centre forward who lacks pace, Bendtner has everything other than pace, but he too drops back a lot to link up with the team more. Last day Sagna and Clichy were putting in a lot of crosses. But noone to meet them. Maybe Theo is the answer but when is he gonna play a central striker. After we lose the title?? So a cheap one. Maybe Chamakh or any unknown player who has all the qualities mentioned above. We should have been the ones who got this di santo guy from chelsea on loan. He’s been a flop there coz of the biggest competition on planet earth. How many target men do u need in a team. Drog, anelka, kalou, sheva?? He became surplus to requirements there. But i think he has all that is needed to be a hit at Arsenal. Skills, pace, power, dribbling, heading, passing, height etc to name a few. What do u guys say?? N i gotta feeling Ade will haunt us. Remember players we sell have always done it to us. Bentley, Aliadere, Sidwell, Larsson(bir) etc to name a few. If they could do their bit being just fringe players here, imagine what could a team with two ex-starmen do?? Judgement day in two weeks..

    Blah Blah Blah………..I’m not listening!

  4. NetBulger says:

Ade is a STAR and a huge loss. A huge pity that the Boo and Bleat brigade (like young MetalBrain) succeeded in ousting him from the Emirates. Good luck to you, Ade. You deserve the great support and fan base you’ll get at City. We couldn’t afford you now and NOT ONE of our squad will score the 25 goals you averaged in the last two years with us Gunners.

  5. joe says:

i don’t agree with NetBulger. how can you assume not one of our player can surpass his ‘25′ goals in a season, if our season has not even reached 10 games?. he might be a good scorer, but his influence in the dressing room hasn’t been so good. have you ever seen an Arsenal player debating really hard with his team mate during a match? well, Ade seemed had a lot things to say to Bendtner a while ago. no one is perfect and so is he. whatever Bendtner had done, Ade should not have made it public in front of thousands of fans. and don’t forget, he was the one who kept complaining about his wages and even threatened to quit Arsenal and join AC Milan instead which eventually led him to ManC. with double wages on his pocket, he surely is happy to play for his new club without a doubt

I think we do need to replace him. Chamakh would do just fine.
