Agent confirms Arsenal interest in Italy U21 international striker
There are reports this morning that Arsenal are one of a few teams (including Manchester United) that are watching the Italian U21 striker Insigne Lorenzo, who has been impressing watchers while on loan from the Serie A giants Napoli.
Lorenzo scored 19 goals in just 31 games at Foggia last season, and has already scored another seven this season at lowly Pescara, and his performances earned him a call-up to the Italy U21 side, where he scored two goals on his debut (admittedly against Liechtenstein).
Lorenzo is tiny at 5ft 4in (Zola anyone?) and it is unlikely that Napoli are going to let such a promising youngster leave just yet, but Lorenzo’s agent, Antonio Ottaiano, told Italian TV of interest from the Premiership. “There are many contacts and I speak not only of Italian teams.” he said.
“British clubs are also very important. I do not think it’s time to name names, but could speak of Manchester United and Arsenal. Of course, his appearances with the U-21 are increasing his popularity, ”
Because of his size Lorenzo (like Zola again) is listed as an attacking midfielder but he certainly scores enough goals to be called an out-and-out striker. This is certainly an interesting Arsenal rumour, but I am racking my brains trying to think of ANY Italians that Wenger has bought…….

what a rubbish article..that guy may be genius but..we are not in need of a yougster who learns form us and goes to another club after becoming world class..and as for the rumors..it is only a rumor as arsenal is not goonna invest in any good players until kroenke is there.

Arsenal is interested in this and that player, so what? I should jump and touch the skies? Where are all the players we were interested in to come in and strengthen the squad before the transfer window opened in January? Taiye Taiwo has already gone to QPR! Please save me all these stories supposedly designed to buoy my optimism. Unfortunately, I do not get blindly optimistic.

Dont bother about such rumours. And we actually don’t need any more young guys.
# We have a decent GK and a not so bad deputy.
# At RB we might need one more young lad. It can give us a third option and he could give a little competition for Jenkinson.
# At CB sell both Sqid and Djourou. Just bring back Bartley and promote Miquel as a replacement. We have 3 good CB now. TV5 and KOS6 should start. Believe me Mertsacker will be good next season. He is adapting well(remember koscielny last season). This can enable a good rotation policy and hence less injury.
# At LB buy someone who is not older than 23. Cant count on Gibbs and Santos. Both are injury prone.
# At Midfield sell Benayoon, Rosicky, Diaby. Bring back Lansbury, promote Coquilien and Frimpong. Arteta can lead them all with his experience. there is no point in keeping rosicky just coz he is experienced. And we have Jack and Aaron ofcource!
# At RW bring someone below 25 if Theo leaves. Else promote Ox.
# At LW just give more chances for Ryo. And Gervinho will be way better next season.
# At ST buy someone who is of age 22-25. If RVP leaves replace him with some quality player above 25 age(preferably Podolski). And promote Joel Cambell. Sell all other so called strikers.
THIS IS WHAT WE SHOULD DO NEXT SUMMER. BUT ALL THE CURRENT PLAYERS AND COACH SHOULD PRODUCE A REALLY MAGICAL PERFORMANCE TO FINISH THIS SEASON IN TOP 4. AS ARSENE DONT GET ANY SUPPORT FROM THE BOARD, WE THE SO CALLED FANS, SHOULD BACK OUR TEAM TILL THE END. WE SHOULD ALSO RAISE OUR VOICE AGAINST THE BOARD……………………

@BalancedView you are very right. its a waste of time for all arsenal rumour since they never buy any recognized players. we are fed up with wenger and more so the board of this club. instead of buying the striker, wenger had to fool the fans by bringing henry so that fans can keep quiet. Shame!

I really don’t mind us chasing young stars, but strikers only right now?? I was hoping for Taiwo and that never happened, all we got is rumours wile other clubs are announcing the signings ! We are in need, and what about vela, and joel campbell?? Both are promising young talent, give them a chance and get a star of a left back that’s reliable, as for djorou n squid….replace them please, a top club in england shud have much better quality back up, no use having a super starting 11 and no back up, ul never make it

@rj Balotelli is a good footballer but has an attitude problem. He gets instant rage due to the physicality of the BPL, rarely stays on for the full 90minutes, and is very hit and miss.
The alternative Italian either goes to ground and cries, or surrounds the ref and complain.

this is a good technique by buying young players for the future…{Eg:fabregas} but wenger has depend on the current situation..so he needs to –
BUY:another GK in case szczesny gets injured;a LB like cissokho;a CB like vertonghen,,a RB like castro;a a CAM like gourcuff,pastore,giovinco ;a WF like hazard/gotze;a ST like podolski,huntelaar,rossi….
