Alex Song – Arsenal were too over-confident, but we’ll learn..
The Arsenal midfielder Alex Song thinks that the answer to to the Gunners’ problems this season is simple; they have to stop assuming that there are easy games and hard games, and just play with the same intensity whoever the opponent.
The biggest problems started after losing the Carling Cup Final against Birmingham, when everyone in the world thought that Arsenal would win it easily. After that their confidence took a massive dive.
“Sometimes we get on the pitch and we think ‘this game will be won easily’”. Song said. “That is something that we have to change. Because when you think you are going to win a game, and you don’t, it knocks the team.
“You can’t play a game against Manchester United and lose against Bolton in the game before that.
“I think we need to have the same mentality whether we play Bolton or Manchester United. I think we need to learn from this to be ready for next season.”
“We didn’t do what we wanted to do this year, we finished fourth and I think we lacked something this year,”
“It’s very important that for next season that we don’t make the same mistakes. It will be good to get away on our holidays and when we get back, we will know what we have to do for next season.
“We will be ready for the challenge and it’s very important for us to win something next season, because we missed something this year and were very close.”
I wonder how different it might have been if only Arsenal had won the game against Birmingham. Would their confidence have received a boost instead?

Two pointa for Arsenal to note:
1. Stop thinking about the CC Final. You lost in the end to a horrendous defensive mistake which will probably never be repeated.
2. Watch Messi’s goal in the CL Final. He didn’t continue passing but saw the opportunity to shoot and did so. A lesson to be learnt in the pre-season and put into regular practice next term.

song u should be the leader to tell them this in the dressing room and scream at them when they are playing bad,, but this guy is no leader on the pitch ,,
and 1 tip for song dont play deeper dan van persie just stay in ure central midfield area that would help the defenders a lot!

I agreed wit frence fires, song should play his role on the pitch not to be fighting for goal when not necessary, to help d defend. he is the one that played with over most of the time. so song its left for you to knwo where you are playing when on the pitch, stop confusing the main striker

French Fries…. I think you should know that Arsenal are one of the most high scoring team last season, the problems is just lack of concentration and agression

Song should keep attacking when the chance arrises because Wilshere is smart enough to cover the back four. without Song’s goals the season could have been a complete disaster.
