Ancelotti link – but what would he offer that Wenger doesn’t?
In what seems to be the first serious rumour of a new manager at the Emirates, ex-Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti has emerged as a favourite to replace Wenger.
The Italian, who was sacked by the Blues earlier this year, has a mountain of experience both on and off the pitch and enjoyed success as a player and a manager, more recently leading his team to their first domestic double in their history.
Despite these unarguable factors, though, I cannot see him offering anything more than Wenger. During his spell with the west Londoners, his transfers were based very much around youth and future prospects – phrases that have become synonymous with the much-criticised Wenger off and on ever since his arrival in 1996. These included Daniel Sturridge, a young Englishman that has developed into a class act, similarly to (potentially) Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain. Arguably his most significant signing, Yuri Zhirkov, looked promising on arrival at Stamford Bridge but his £18 million transfer fee soon proved to be money down the drain. Today, the midfielder is just another reject from the European leagues to join big-spending Russians Anzhi Makhachkala.
Carlo Ancelotti is undoubtedly a talented manager. He saved the club money by buying sensibly (arguably against Abramovich’s wishes) and did bring trophies to the club. However, the difference at Chelsea was that the squad was already complete and so the task here would be on another scale altogether. Wenger, on the other hand, created the squad and was of course the true founder of the youth development system at the Emirates. He will always have the upper-hand.
It may seem like there is nothing to lose, but replacing Wenger with a manager who has had it relatively easy of late will be unlikely to change much at all.

No Arsene is the best for Arsenal. It’s in his name
Opinions divided. What do you think?

1. He would offer a plan B which we have not had for ages. We need to able to change tactics and formation depending on the opponent and the way the game is running. We are too easy to read and therefore too easy to beat currently.
2. Italians are known for the amount of importance they give to working on a strong defense and that is something we really need.
3. He would probably bring in his own assistant and i’m sorry but anyone would do better than pat rice regardless of how much we love him from what he offered as a player.
4. We would have a manager who can give the players a good old fashioned Bol*****g instead of supporting them and believing in them even after a dreadful display.
Every true gooner would love to be able to sing 1-0 to the arsenal. we want trophies and the 1-0 is the way to get them.

Forgot to mention a new medical team to reduce the amount of injuries from the joke we currently have.

Ancelotti would offer tactical improvements and he would definitely stabilise the almost non existing defense. He would be the right man to replace Wenger. Wenger has nothing to offer anymore, he is tired without any new ideas. Ancelotti would also buy more sensible than Wenger, first of all he would strengthen the non existing defense.

what we all agree is that AW has had enough time to do good but he didnt. we need a change and Anchelotti could be the answer
I strongly suggest Arsenal fans act like Blackburn’s and ask AW out of the door. The disgusting thing with AW is that he always find excuses and lies to the fans. Managers like Anchelotti and Redknapp are much more honest to the fans.

Unfortunately probs for the best if he had just bought parker and cahill on top of who he already bought then it eould have provided stability through the middle and started the english spine that the team should have.

Ancelotti would be better tactically and would be just the same as wenger in the respect of bringing in youngsters, unlike wenger he would spend money where it needs to be spent.

There is a lot he can offer just by his reputation…he has the reputation of a good coach and that way he can attract world class player into the team.He has also recently won trophies with Chelsea only in his first year in charge at Chelsea…he has a great football CV(that says it all really) I believe that he would improve the team defensively and most of all attacking wise by using different formations unlike Wenger who sticks with the same 4-5-1 formation in every single game. Ancelotti would be an excellent new fresh start for Arsenal FC which would improve the club in the best way possible…yes the style of football would change as he would be a new manager but let’s be realistic and move on.

Actually when Wenger took over and started winning things, he inherited a very solid back line.
Yes, he inherited it. And slowly it all fade away after the players get older.

Arsenal fans who stay in London,in this current 2011/12 season if Arsenal goes trophiless/cupless or if by December this year Arsenal will continue performing dismally/poorly like the way it’s performing now or even just right now,I advise you to just gang up and mobilize each other verbally, through both print and electronic media and also using social networks like Netlog, Twitter,Facebook,Skyblog,Skyspace,Blogger etc and just start PRESSURIZING,PROTESTING and DEMONSTRATING seriously, bitterly, tirelessly, harshly, sleeplessly and persistently at Arsenal’s headquarters in London and in the City of London in general while singing and also carrying banners written on these words:”WENGER MUST GO/ BE FIRED AND REPLACED NOW/IMMEDIATELY “, “WENGER MUST GO/BE FIRED AND REPLACED NOW/IMMEDIATELY”!!!,”THE WHOLE OF ARSENAL’S CURRENT BOARD AND MANAGEMENT IN GENERAL INCLUDING IVAN GAZIDIS APART FROM ONLY STAN KROENKE AND ALICIA USMANOV MUST BE FIRED AND REPLACED NOW/ IMMEDIATELY” !!,”THE WHOLE OF ARSENAL’S CURRENT BOARD AND MANAGEMENT IN GENERAL APART INCLUDING IVAN GAZIDIS APART FROM ONLY STAN KROENKE AND ALICIA USMANOV MUST BE FIRED AND REPLACED NOW/IMMEDIATELY”!!! and you be very serious and do the above exercise/task bitterly, tirelessly, seriously, persistently and even sleeplessly until all the above is done/happens,and after all the above is done/happens;it’s when you can stop protesting, pressurizing and demonstrating the above.
Arsenal fans:if you want Arsenal to be winning trophies year in year out/season in season out;for God’s sake you should just do the above. But if you do not do the above, for sure before God Arsenal will keep-on/going CUPLESS/ TROPHILESS year in year out/season in season out whether you like it or not!
So Arsenal fans,it’s just you yourselves to decide the fate and future of your team-Arsenal to either be winning trophies year in year out/season in season out or Arsenal to be going TROPHILESS/CUPLESS year in year out/season in season out!

Ancelotti’s stile(football phelosophy) is seems booring to us but by him his team wins any throphies. Give him the money and he will rebuild our team to a strong team. We have the money but we can’t really spend these bcoz of Wenger maybe Ancelotti is the right answer.

Leadership is periodic AW was a very good coach in the past few years but now his leadership is collapsing. He is full of himself now he can not be told. As results he is driving the team to hell.If he should buy a defender last year in January the team should have won the league. Buying players that will never feature in the team is no sense. Why did he buy park if he doesn`t use him the money used to buy weak players just because they are cheap can be used to buy one nice player. He is to stinger . Arsenal will be linked to every player in the earth but at the end of the day they will buy no body. So Arsenal need to bring a new coach who will compete with new Man City , Liverpool and Chelsea coaches. Whoever support AV has to know that things change and you have to change as well.

Ancelotti would bring his experience and tactics to a team that desperately need them.
I dislike Italian football and most of their players but I have to give credit where it’s due and they know how to defend. Their dirty diving aside they know where they need to be and bhow to get there to wni the ball. Carlo put together some magnificent Milan teams who were’nt just catanaccio teams playing for 1-0. They were highly entertaining and could adapt on the fly.
I believe he could get the best out of Chamakh because Maurone isn’t very different from Pippo Inzaghi – can’t shoot, isn’t fast, not skilled but Pippo could score at will because he learned where he needed to be when and Carlo knew how to play him. Chamakh could become that poacher.
Ancelotti teams can play both passing football as well as direct route one and be successful at it. Carlo knows what he needs where and will try to get the players to do it, not put 16 year olds in CL games that overwhelm them like Arsene.
Wenger is one of the best managers in football history, not just Arsenal, but sometimes even the best romances must come to an end. He will always be fondly remembered and the sooner he goes, the more intact that reputation as a legend stays, rather than go down in a burning ball of flames as he has been.

I tell ya one thing if AW goes and then the board just then choose to change the wage and how much we spend on a player for the new manager thats a real big piss take Wenger why didnt they do it for him,,, trust me the board needs to change not wenger, with things the way they are above wenger, no manger is gonna do better than Aw……never thought I say this but a take over is needed oh god forgive for saying that,,,,,but come on now we moved so we can get the best players in the world not lose one or two each year for the past six,,,
I think AW is still the right man just give him the money change the wage and you will see what a god he is,,, come on man think Real madrid, and psg want wenger they know what the man can do and has done his keep us in top filght football working with pennies that the board give him, loseing are best players for the past six years and still staying in top 4 no one els could have done that,,,,, just think what he can do if they give him the money he needs to get players he really wants real and psg can do that for him ARSENAL NEED TO DO THAT FOR HIM TO,,,, CHANGE THE BOARD
