Andrei Arshavin to miss Barcelona return leg as well
It is bad enough that the Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas may have ended up with a broken leg from last night’s Champions League game against Barcelona, but the old captain William Gallas has also been ruled out for the duration too.
Now it has been revealed that Andrei Arshavin is still on the treatment table and is likely to miss out on at least the next “two to three weeks”.
Arshavin has been out of sorts since Christmas, and didn’t really look up to the pace in last night’s game. He stayed on the pitch long enough to get booked, but the speed of Barcelona’s tackling seemed to dumbfound him and he was taken off with a calf strain after 27 minutes, and replaced by Eboue.
He then spent the rest of the match in the treatment with the doctor, so failed to see the brilliant Arsenal comeback first-hand. As he trudged off the pitch and straight down the tunnel he looked dejected and miserable. Perhaps he finally realised that he was simply not good enough to play for the team of his boyhood dreams…

He must have got up early though to add a few thoughts to his Russian language webpage, where he wrote in his usual direct style: “I might be able to get back on the pitch in the next two or three weeks,”
“I can only say that Arsenal’s players undoubtedly showed character…There is still one more match…”
It’s just a shame that the real Arshavin won’t be able to show up and finally prove that he is a world class player.

bad tidings but we can just about cover these. nasri is palying amazing at moment in 1st half he was only one who seemed to be trying. with him back in centre like he was against porto with diaby and song, and rosicky instead of arshavin (who has been poor lately) eboue/walcott on other wing we are just as good. it’s bad we miss gallas as i think we will have to play a few games with silvestre and keep campbel for the big matches (champ league, city, spuds)

I pray 4 Fabregas and Arshavin early recovery. Also, 4 wenger to buy Herrera and Chamakah, with a defender for next season.
