Anzhi Makhachkala join race for Robin Van Persie
The newly-rich Russian side mean serious business, and it seems they are going to rival Man City’s spending to get a host of superstars to move to the Russian League, and are aiming to challenge for the Champions League in the near future.
Roberto Carlos was the first big arrival at the club, and this summer he was joined by Chelsea’s Yuri Zhirkov and of course Samuel Eto’o, and the Anzhi captain revealed that they are still looking to bring lots more brilliant players to the capital of Dagestan including the Arsenal striker Robin Van Persie.
Carlos was actually asked about the rumours that Anzhi were looking to sign Nicolas Anelka from Chelsea and he replied: “Anelka is not the only player. Nene from PSG and Van Persie from Arsenal are players we are following,”
“Neymar? I talked to him. If Real, Barca or Man United cannot pay the transfer fee, we will pay it. Suleyman Kerimov can offer what he wants.”
Now if Van Persie really did want one last big pay day then Dagestan would seem to be the place to be, but if he wants to actually win some trohies in the next couple of years then he should stay at Arsenal (just joking Robin!)

The only reason any player would join Anzhi would be for money,don’t believe for one minute RVP would go there when was the last time anyone heard of samuel what is face?

im really getting worried about rvp with all these rumours but i just think hes waiting at arsenal to see what happens over the transfer window and is arsenal going to buy the players thats needed to win trophies and if they dont i think he will leave but i hope not

One of the things that interests me most, but I hate most is the transfers.
I don’t mind if RVP leaves, but given Arsenal’s track record, 99% chance nothing will be done.
The cash-raking-machine-only model needs to be scrape.
We’re always linked to good players, living up the Arsenal’s reputation, but the things that materializes are most often disappointing.
