Are Arsenal Planning Massive Swoop For Striker In January?
According to rumours today Arsenal are preparing to smash their transfer record in January with a sensational move for Carlos Tevez.
City value Tevez at around £40million, but they will get nowhere near that due to recent events, but they could get somewhere nearer the £25-30million mark. It has been reported in recent weeks that Arsene Wenger is desperately trying to convince the board members at the Emirates to splash the cash on a big named marquee signing in January, and that man could well be Tevez.
I can hear many of you laughing, but think about it for a minute. Tevez’s family have moved back to England to be with him so they would be reluctant to move overseas again. His wife and children would probably be far happier in London than rainy Manchester anyway.
There are even reports in the Dutch media suggesting City could be planning a swoop for Van Persie in January. A Straight swap then? Wages are not a problem are they! After all just two days ago Ivan Gazidis said, “We don’t have a salary ceiling. I don’t know where that story comes from.”
There is no doubting Tevez’s ability, the bloke is dynamite. Dynamite that is when he isn’t throwing his toys out of the pram, but if anyone can control him surely Arsene Wenger can.
With regards to strikers in January, for what it’s worth here is what I would do if I was in charge. Personally we should offer Robin van Persie a new and improved contract that would keep him at the club for the rest of his career, and sign Carlos Tevez. I doubt either will happen when we look at recent events, but I can continue dreaming for a little bit longer.

good to be true but if it is lets get it done quickly. He his better than van persie no doubt. But he can’t do it alone and we need about 4 more signing with him. He will also attract names too,harzard and other will want to join. Rooneyis the only player at manu collecting high wage and we need at least one too.

Maybe it would be a good idea to get him, but is it clever to sacrifice Van Persie, our best player, to the team that have taken some of our best players already? 40M on a player, when it could be invested at a long term target like Hazard and M’Villa? I would prefer Hazard and M’Villa for 60M than Tevez for 40M. Midfield has been one of the weakest parts of our game this season, and it needs to be strengthened. Also, our defence needs bolstering, for example a Cahill. Someone who is very defensively solid and not injury prone. Cahill and Mertesker or Cahill and Vermalen would be a quality defensive partnership.
Don’t get me wrong, Tevez is a quality player, I just don’t think he is worth losing either Van Persie or 40M.

Tevez will be welcome @ arsenal,but lookin @ d fact that we have park,walcott,RVP in the squad,signing tevez will call for a tactical change,meaning one of arteta n ramsey/wishere will sit out of d action.but I don’t see wenger signing hazard n tevez together.

I think Arsenal should just spend/pay even the 40 million Euros that Man-City is demanding for the sale of Carlos Tevez,Tevez is very good,brilliant and has a lot of stamina and has very high C.O.G[Centre of Gravity].Tevez a.k.a “Rhino” is also a forcer;he usually forces so much till he scores.So Wenger/Arsenal should just take/buy Tevez in the 2012 January transfer window and make him a first 11 plus some good number of elegant strikers,goalies,defenders and midfielders and he will get positive results[a trophy[es].

look guys vp is no nasri hes not trying to mug arsenal off he just doesnt want to commit the last few years of his career to a sinking ship, all this club has to do is be competitive again like last year and vp will stay and i make him rite!!!!
no doubt tevez is quality and would bring much to the club but its a gamble, truth is though if somebody snapps him up for 20 or 30 mill and tevez leads them to glory, we will all be saying wenger was to slow and missed out again like when snjieder and van der vart left real, we cant have it both ways so i say take the gamble, aslong as we dont pay over 30 mill we should atleast get some or all of the money back if it doesnt work.
also wenger is 100% rite we do need a marquee signing bout time the board backed him as its the board not listening to wenger thats got us in the mess were in now!

Tevez can fit for a team playing rough football or more of a counter attack.RVPis exceptional for us.his magical left foot is a menance to defenders.we need to strenthen the MID-FIELD aND THE DEFENCE. we need high competition in midfiedamd defence.i dont think TEVEZ can really fit in our style of play further more we dont need rude players.NO one is bigger than the club.HAZARD IS ENOUGH

Tevez is his last chance in England and full not want to blow it.
If,yes its a massive if,we got him,it would help attract a Hazard,Help keep RVP.
If we then get Jack and TV5 back and firing,its a Premiership winning side without question.
30 million for Tevez,40 for Hazard……..we would get great value out of it.

I don’t think so. If we didn’t sign someone like Matta why would the board plan to spend for someone even more expensive like Tevez? Forget about it. It will be business as usual in Jan – we’ll sign some French 17 year old with “great potential”.

he read he gets somewhere between £200,000 to £250,000 a week! arsenal cannot afford so high wages and he would have to take a MASSIVE pay cut if he signs for us. highly unlikely.

i will prefer wenger should go for Tevex as he’s got good score records againt the top clubs and will want to prove himself whilst playing against man city, he is stronger physical than V.P and can also assist the midfield. This could even make Wenger adopt a 4-4-2 formation. come to think of it if, he will not mind a pay splash which mean we can get more for less pay.

we need long term, young players that are motivated. we dont need mercenaries that demand high wages and wont even come on to play, or a player thats been living in england for four years and cant even fucking speak english.
we need hazard, m’vila, baines, and cahill. we could change chamberlain from a winger to a striker like we did with henry and use a 4-2-2-1-1

Why are we wasting time looking for players like tevez who have big attitude and mental problems, tevez is good but we can do so much better, we should try to sign someone like karim benzema, benzema is a proper striker with pace and technique, benzema is finding it hard to get a first team place at madrid because of high competition, we should be trying our best to buy someone like benzema who will solve alot of our attacking problems, as a team we are creating plenty of chances BUT we need a proper finisher like benzema, RVP is a CF and not a out and out striker, i would much rather get benzema than tevez, hes young, talented, pacey and well worth it. UP GUNNERZ

On the topic, Tevez is exactly the type of striker we need. Someone who has some balls. I would pick him over RVP anyday…RVP is good but he is not great. He is not in Rooney or Tevez, Drogba league.
But first things first. If we are going to spend 40m, please buy a defender and midfielder first. We are crying without Wilshere. We miss players like Fab and Nasri. RVP will serve us well is we have the right players feeding him the ball. We have been scoring goals, it’s our defense that is lacking. If we could concede less, we would be winning every game. A Tevez type player would be nice (I suppose the Ox is that type of player, don’t know why Wenger doesn’t play him more often.)
I would buy two new defenders, Cahill and Vertonghen. Hazard would be great in MF but don’t think we will get him. M’vila would be great. Then in order to get Tevez too, I would sell Arshavin and Walcott. Play the Ox, RVP, Miyachi and Tevez up front.

what we are not definately signing in january is m’vila coz we will end up with defensive midfielders, with coquelin doing well i don’t wenger spending 20 millions on another DM. same with eden hazard, wenger is trying to sneak young chuks aneke in to see how he performs on the big stage and if he does lille can find a new buyer.
yes i hope with bring quality players in january but what we need most is a top striker. tevez is welcome at arsenal, maybe he doesnt like manchester for real. he was not trouble at westham.

I would happy to get him but not if that is the only person we will buy, anyway i was thinking he is a total **** before so i dont want to see him in an arsenal shirt, i dont want another nasri (or worse) who is stubborn. But we should be able to afford it as we are the second richest club in the league, when you add up usmanov and kroenke’s money.
But i want:
Djourou(out) Cahill/Vertongen(in)
Miyiachi(loaned out because he isnt any use on bench for a guy with lots of potential) and Hazard(in)
M’vila(in)
And we really need to look at getting a top class striker, we might as get one now because van persie will always get injured and then will get too old in 2 years anyway.
This will cost £80mil max but we will have a giant chance of winning anything with a team like that. We dont have to do it all at once. we need a Centre back and playmaker in january. next years arsenal best team if wneger uses his brain:

To save this club we must buy in January. In defence We need either Cahill or Vertongen. Midfield has been a problem for us this year so we must buy hazard and gotzE to add the creativity that we have been lacking this season. Don’t think we need a cdm as song will be available and frimpong is good back up. 2 players that we should try to get in on loan is kaka as he would add extra creativity and tevez because he is a beast of a striker and would finish off any chances we create. If not tevez another quality striker like benzene or podolski. Players that must be sold are arshavin, chamakh Squid almunia diaby rosicky and possibly Walcott.
