Arsenal and Liverpool to rival PSG for Keisuke Honda
It is being reported this morning that Arsene Wenger is still interested in buying the Japanese star Keisuke Honda from the Russian giants CSKA Moscow.
The Russians have continually refused to let Honda break his contract up ’til now, but he now only has one year left and it is time for CSKA to cash in on the in-demand striker.
The Japanese paper “Sports Nippon” reports that the new PSG manager Carlo Ancelotti has contacted CSKA with an opening offer of 13 million euros for Honda, but Arsenal and Liverpool are also interested in taking the 25 year-old to the Premier League.
Wenger first named Honda as the most impressive player he had seen when he was commenting on the World Cup in South Africa and then hevwas given the award for being the best player at the subsequent Asia Cup as well.
Honda has impressed whether he has played in midfield or as the main striker and it is his versatily that will have impressed Wenger the most. With the Russian League in close season right now it is extremely likely that Honda will be sold in the next month or he will be allowed to leave on a free next year.
As a long-time admirer of Honda, should Wenger go all out to bring him to the Emirates at such a reasonable price?

If PSG are involved, we won’t get into a bidding war with them. They have new eastern owners with cash to burn. Even tho we are more than capable of holding our own, as we are a fairly wealthy club. I would be shocked if AW continued his interest.

Oh hell yeah! I remember watching the World Cup and hearing Wenger say,”He is a genius. When the ball is at his feet the magic starts”. This guy is an exceptional talent and probably Japan’s best export besides state of the art technology and automobiles.
Remember how players were complaining about the Adidas Jabulani ball? Many were questioning the ball’s ability to dip while in flight, hence making it difficult for strikers to score from free kicks. Well I also remember Honda scoring 2 beautiful free kicks in a game (I forget whom against)and the commentator stated that “Honda doesn’t seem to have a problem with it.”
Keisuke Honda is a world class player. Very versatile in attack and works hard defensively too. Wenger has made several inquiries about the Japanese International. I actually prefer him over Podolski because he is more of a complete team player and can be used anywhere in midfield. Here we have a player that can dribble past defenders, strike with either head or boot, can volley well, has great vision and a master at free kicks. He sort of remind me of an Asian version of RVP as he’s a left footer too. He can definitely hit the ball with some venom. In fact, I believe he’s a better free kick taker than RVP or anyone we have in the current squad. If you haven’t seen him play then you’re missing out.
It’s great news to hear that CSKA Moscow need to sell him to cash in. Wenger please get this guy, he will do Arsenal wonders! He’s the type of International that can make an immediate impact,something we’re desperate to acquire at the moment. Besides the need for extra defensive cover, Honda should be top of Wenger’s list.

We seem to forget that bendntner, vela, denilson and a host of other young players are on loan, this means wenger can’t just buy anyone unless he is sure he can offload. There’s no point buying two strikers now when next yeat we then may end up with rvp vela chamakh bendnter ox gervinho etc and two other new strikers.

If you can watch game in Russian football league (I can watch every game) you know Honda is average player. May be good for CSKA and not good enough for EPL and Arsenal.
Goetze or Hazard for midfield, Papiss Cisse as attacker such player we need. We don’t need average player we have plenty on the bench.

Just to interject, nothing racist was meant by my comments, just pointing out the glaring coincidence between Honda and Park. I accept Ryo needing more time due to his age and injuries. I actually feel bad for Park, the guy turned down a move to come to Arsenal (screwing out chances of getting another player from Lille in the process) and what has he received for it? Someone of his age and experience shouldnt need time to adapt.
If you buy the right players they don’t need the time to adapt. Let’s list off a few names of those who went to a new league and flourished immediately:
Cesc, Ronaldo, Ozil, Arjen Robben, Sneijder

It can go two ways. Wenger ends up stunning us all by pulling a miracle out his arse, or we do not end up in the top 4 and get knocked out the CL. So much depends on what happens this transfer window. I have to ask you gunners, what then? If the latter occurs, will we still continue to support Wenger? Will he decide to buy ‘better’ players if the ship really hits the fan?
My question would then be, why did we have to wait for things to go horribly wrong when we could have bought quality in the January transfer window of 2012?
That will be what everyone will be saying. Let’s hope it doesn’t happen that way and Wenger can turn it around. One last time, I will support him till the end of the season. If we make it into the top four, he has my vote for another season. But if we do not make top 4 this season, I will say thank you Wenger for what you have done in the past. You brought us sexy football, a few titles and of course the invincibles, but 7 seasons without a trophy and no CL spot, pack your bags and leave respectively. Thank you.

Need to get rid of average players like: Rosicky Diaby Arshavin Chamakh Djorou and Squillaci.
Bring in: Vertonghen or Samba or a good and solid CB.
Bring in a real replacement for Fabregas, a player who has both playmaking abilities and goalscoring abilities: Gourcuff or Marvin Martin.
Bring a solid CDM like M´Vila and bring a prolific wigner and striker. Podolski and a poacher (no idea of who)

i feel the poor result against fulham somewhat tainted are veiw of last year, to be honest though after loosing fab and nas, wilshere not kicking a ball this season and playing for a long spell with are defence in tatters id say its all good. if we had seen the table as it stands after those first 7 games who honestly on here wouldnt of taken it?
are main priority should be to keep this team together then add whats needed over time. verm has already commited to us and if theo follows suit it could well tip the balance and convince vp and song to stay. its been up and down for so long we need consistency off the pitch aswell as on it, i firmly believe with players like kosh,verm,shez, and oxo vp can lead this team to titles but we have to be patient! clowns expecting the boss to buy us the title in a jan transfer window need to grow up. like i said first get this team to commit to arsenal and to eachother and then buy the polished gems, also players like coquilen can shine from within if given a chance, so lets give them a chance!!!!!!
