Arsenal Can’t Even Offload French Defender Now
We all know about Arsenal’s problems in recruiting new players, but it now appears they are even having trouble in getting rid of players they don’t want with a certain French defender up for grabs, but there are no takers.
Sebastian Squillaci joined Arsenal last year from Spanish club Sevilla and broke into the first team when Thomas Vermaelen became injured. He appeared 32 times in all competitions last season, but he yet to appear this year after a series of errors in those games.
The official line is that Squillaci has an injury to his calf, but according to talkSPORT Arsene Wenger has no plans to include the Frenchman in his future plans and is looking to offload him, but as yet no one has come forward for the French international.
Wenger has become increasingly frustrated in his attempts to bring new players to the club, but the news on talkSPORT this morning just puts a tin hat on it that he can’t even get rid of the players he doesn’t want. Priceless!

You know why? Because Squillaci is earning £3m a year!!! If you give this guy away for free, still nobody would try to sign him.
Why? Because he sucks and nobody is stupid enought to sign Squillaci and pay him £3m a year.
So no way we will get rid of this guy.

yea …yea… all these noise about Wenger should stop now. We need to finally dull the noise and let him think. The man has realized his mistake … albeit late but at least he has realized and he’s working at things. So dear all kindly shut your guts and let him come out of this hole. Remembers if he rots in the hole, our club rots. So get behind him and show some faith.
Kudos to all the fans that attended our home game against liverpool this past weekend. You guys did me proud. You got right behind our team putting our difference of opinion aside. That is how we can come out of this. I can say that we will make it through based on the mentality I saw on Saturday. Bless you all.

One of his worse buys full stop we paid £3M for this joke pub defender who is so bad no one wants him for free and why on earth is he being paid €58K per week we got mugged big time.
We wouldnt match Utd on the smalling race and pay Fulham another €2M great management yet again

It shows the credibility of your site if you’re ready to listen to and fuel rumours! I checked the Arsenal website and it is not indicated that he has been made available for sale. May be you’re a SPUD who wants to fuel some commotion in the Arsenal camp, in which case you’re doing a good job. If however you claim to be a Gooner, then you suck!

How long are we stuck with the Squid for? I’m guessing the way things are going for Arsenal right now, this isn’t the last year of his contract and he’s being paid way too much. Give him to a team in the MLS just to get rid of him. Worst. Defender. Ever. And I thought Silvestre was bad.

hes actually not a bad defender, hes brave, good in the air, strong in the tackle and probably a really nice bloke! he just cant keep up with the pace or style of football we play and so looks so outa place and always gets caught cold holding his plums when things go wrong, to many times he could of got the foot in if hed just shown abit more urgency or desire and this is his weakness, but hes still one of our players and he dont deserve to be chastised!

Poor squid, he is good at his prime, but that was far in the past. Let’s put him in reserves to give him a chance to improve his game, in case miquel is injured ….

This is one of the sad case we have. Earlier we had Silvestre, and now Squilacci. Before that we had Senderos as well. Gallas another problem. Can we not sign defender with name starting or ending with “S” any more?

are you the same people that are asking wenger to sign no nonsense samba, cahill, jagielka? remember this is arsenal not everton, bolton or blackburn.
squillaci was a panick buy because of pressure and we lost havard nordtveit in the process. now you want us to sign another average who could also end up failing to adapt to arsenal style of play. this time next year you will still blame wenger for signing useless samba.
in my opinion the defence is getting there not need to complicate things, miquel can take the 4th place while he’s progressing and bartley can be called from his loan spell, both have been training at arsenal for years you should trust them despite being young.
what we really need is a new medical team to keep our defenders fit. unless its a proven international like hummels or subotic please no more england B defenders in our team. they are not better than what we already have.

whats more outrageous, they want big fee for their defenders.
i am sure squillaci would have done well had he signed for these small teams.
this is arsenal and i am sure bartley has more chance of winning more england caps than cahill and jagielka.
after just 2 games, jenkinson is being asked to consider england. i can only see cahill but for how much? 17 millions would be a panick buy.

Don’t blame Wenger, blame the board. The board are happy enough to pay fairly high transfer fees but absolutely refuse to pay wages in line with other big clubs around the world. This is the reason Arsene can’t get any quality at the moment. Take Mata for example. We agreed about 22.5m, the board were happpy to pay that, but not to pay anywhere near the wage he asked. Now Chelsea have come in and agreed about 22m and will pay him the wage he wants. It’s a disgrace. Stan and the entire board must be removed, in any way possible. Dein needs to come back too.

three things need to be done by the end of next week
1)get cahill AND samba
2)get a proven CAM who can operate on the flanks(ie like hazard)
3)if possible get an experienced goalkeeper as a safe bet!
and i promise you Mr Wenger, if you do the above, we will have a fighting chance to relinquish what we lost and if not we know that the players, you and the supporters have tried their best
