Arsenal certain to field a strong team against Leeds Utd in the FA Cup
When the FA Cup draw was made, people obviously picked out Manchester United vs. Manchester City as the biggest match with Arsenal vs. Leeds United as the other big match. While it is fair to say that there is no real “rivalry” between Arsenal and Leeds geographically or in competing for trophies, there is no doubt that the match will be a tight and exciting one.
Last season, we were rather fortunate to escape the match with a 1-1 draw at home (Last minute Fabregas penalty) although the replay that finished 3-1 in our favour was a very different affair.
It will be a match where Arsenal will be favourites to win, especially when the match is played at the Emirates. Pressure will be mounting on the players but you would always fancy us to get the result on the day.
The other issue that such a match presents is in deciding whether or not to play the full team. Luckily though the match will be a relatively long five days after the Premier League match against Fulham and a whole week before the subsequent match against Swansea, so there should not be a problem with fielding a full side to get the result.
I think that the draw is good for us. We avoided the Premier League teams which is always good news, and at least Leeds is a team that will certainly not try to park the bus at the Emirates – that would make for a horrible match.
Aaron Ramsey sums the draw up well for Arsenal, “nice to have a home draw, but won’t be easy against Leeds.”
Hopefully on the day the team will put its collective and conclusive effort to win. After all, the FA Cup is one trophy that is always up for grabs.

wenger needs to focus on this trophy..its our only chance of silverware. One of the manc teams will be out so if we get other good fixtures to get rid of the other one and chelsea and the spuds
, you never know we could win it.
wenger has said 4th place is the priority, so im guessing he will put out a side similar to the one that played and performed well against man city in the carling cup.
Opinions divided. What do you think?

just wondered… has anyone here ever been on the arsenalrumours.co.uk forum?
…its chock full of the most hypocritical moaners, whingers and self-important idiots found anywhere on the net….it really is an embarrassment to the real arsenal fans out there…
and god help you if you disagree with anything that anyone says,it ends up as a cliquey witch-hunt until you get barred by the cliquey editors..
it was a lost cause trying to stick up for all things arsenal that was getting unjustly and hysterically over the top slatings on there (especially during our bad start to the season,it was doom and gloom meltdown! some people even going as far as suggesting a total boycott of the club, cancelling sky subs and not spending another penny on anything bearing an arsenal crest, only to later deny they said it once we turned things around)
I’m sure its a load of spuds fans in disguise stirring things up.. I ended up faking my own death on there to stop myself posting and backed it up with a message to the editors ”please ban this ip permanently” just to make sure…it REALLY is that bad.
so I wanted to ask if anyone knows an arsenal forum thats actually a bit light hearted and doesn’t make you want to top yourself after 5 mins reading
cheers,

Arsenal need to be the aggressor and finish the game off the first time round. We can’t afford to tippy-toe through the tulips and allow them to force the second leg at their home ground. With last year’s experience, the first game was too tight for my liking and although Arsenal travel well, it’s a risk we shouldn’t flirt with.
Let’s field our top team as we have time for them to rest prior and post the game for their respective clashes with Fulham and Swansea in the EPL. We should be going for as many trophies as we can to maximise our chances of slapping this monkey off our backs. I’m sick of the banter coming from Tottenham, Man Utd, Man City and Chelsea supporters. Let’s shut these fruitloops up and win something! The only way to start is to allow our best Gunners to do their job.

this could be the only thing we have and okay chance of winning it.
with united or city getting knocked out.
it will only leave bot 4 clubs that could win it will be fav.
we need to win something badly and am sure wenger will try to win it like he always has done with the FA cup.
lets hope we get some luck on the way and get a few easy teams.

people say the fa cup is our only chance for a trophy i DISAGREE! why cant we win the champions league? why cant we win the premier league? who knows its too early yet man city and other teams will drop points as long as we keep winning we have a chance and we can give the champs league a good shot. WE ARE THE ARSENAL IF WE PUT IT IN OUR MIND AND FOCUS WE CAN ACHIEVE! stay loyal and believe!

Arsenal must take the Leeds game seriously. Replays did hurt the squad last year and conserving our fresh legs for champions and premier league games in march and April. It doesn’t have to be the full first XI as long as there are 6-7 starters and sczezy in the goal. Regardless, I’m 100% goonin for the fa cup. Up gunners

trust me…its the worst one around,or at least,it has the biggest clique.
mildly upset or disagree with one person and they run crying to the editors and that’s it…you get banned without a say, like I said before…its an embarrassment to proper gooners!

FA cup is the only realistic chance that we have to win something this season. Hope Wenger will put up almost 1st eleven team or at least 50% 1st team. Please dont try and error to put young players for sake of experience. After long 6 years the AFC supporters deserve someting to cheer about.

I believe Arsenal has what it takes to win the F.A cup and perhaps even the CL. Our team is top of their game, our new signings have slipped right into the swing of things and if we play well I do not think anyone can stop us. City will be a good test to see what our first team is really capable of since we came out of our slum. Chelsea was definitely an eye opener in that we can defeat top teams. I cannot wait to play United and Spurs again to show them what we are really capable of. I am so proud to be a gooner and I can see only good things in future for out team. Come on gunners, bring home the glory!

Hello fellow gooners. We all remember last year when ‘Super Cesc’ saved us from embarrassment. This year I won’t to get it done at the Emirates. I would line us up like this : ______________________________Szczesny ________________________________________ Jenkinson ( if fit) _______ Koscielny. ___________ Djourou___________________Gibbs (if fit). ___________________Coquelin________Frimpong________Ramsey________________________________ Oxlade – Chamberlain__________Park________________ Benayoun____________ With a subs bench of : Fabianski. Miquel. Santos. Arteta. Arshavin. Gervinho. Van Persie ( just incase) Elz.

Arsenal Yeti,if I remember right you were thrown off that site because you were caught out using multiple personalities. How sad are you to do that? You were even arguing with yourself at some points leading to you admitting to alcohol problems? You can’t deny this mate, you were caught out so don’t spit the dummy out now over it.

Oh and another thing Yeti, if it is that bad why are you still posting on it as Mick? Get a life mate, who fakes their own death on a football forum? You might be better having a chat with your doctor rather than trolling the internet.
