Arsenal chasing highly-rated African striker – For free!
This is more like a real Arsenal transfer rumour when it is reported that the Gunners are watching a talented striker who will be a free agent this summer.
His name is Ederzito and he currently plays for Academica in Portugal, and although the Portugese giants Porto are also keen on signing him, Arsenal have also decided to join the race.
The 6ft 2in African hitman, who will be 24 this week, was born in Guinea-Bissau but is a naturalised Portugese citizen. According to todays People, Ederzito has already told Academica that he will not be signing a contract extension this summer, and after scoring 10 goals in 30 games for the Portugese minnows he is certainly likely to be in line for a lucrative contract next season.
The People report that Arsenal’s Chief Scout Steve Rowley has been to watch Ederzito many times this season and has recommended him to Wenger. Surely the Gunners can match any contract offer on the table from Porto?
This has the hallmarks of a typical Wenger signing to me!

@ belleville bones
You question 10 in 30, but haven’t considered that he’s playing in a team that can’t feed him the ball as much as we can. Think about Walcott, Ramsey, Song and Arteta assisting him like they do RVP.
You forget Wenger is in charge and will always work out a good system to involve all players. Hope this enlightens your small brain!

Gooners Put your self in RVP’s shoes City is offering him 200K a week. who wouldn’t take that when you are 29 like our front man, lets be realistic and let me know. Let us not forget city was going to cash on Rooney because they had offered him a mind boggling amount as well. what did Man U do? they matched the bill and Rooney stayed put.Let me put it this way, when a player is under performing like Arshavin at the moment, every body fans (loudest)want him sold immediately and some one else brought in yet when a player is on fire and a another suitor comes calling promising him fatter wages we blame him for not being loyal when he leave us. Every player has a value which appreciates or depreciates according to performance and if a given club can’t meet it a player should not be blamed for quitting because the same club would do the same if that very player was not performing. Rather we should blame the club which failed to meet the players value which has appreciated like that of RVP. Of course Robin would love to end his career at arsenal but is arsenal ready to meet its part of the bargain in the current market prices. If you ask that question to the arsenal authorities they will start preaching to you their business model instead. So blame the club not the player. Money may not be the only factor in consideration here as other players even take pay cuts to join a another club but that can also be a debate of its own. All the same money weighs highest in a players movement index.
Last but not least my week end will only be complete with a repeat of last season emphatic a way win at city.

Yeah just sign a known name, that will definitely be a smart choice when they become flops! Idiot! Let’s pay 20M for Podolski because we know him. Idiot!
Think of Koscielny, Vermaelen, Henry, Pires, Vieira etc. They were all unknowns and not doing too well in their respective clubs before they joined us. I thought by now if you’re a true Gooner, you would have learnt how Wenger’s genius can make any player great!
In Wenger we trust!

agree with S.H.. the players arsenal are linked is just not as well known as other players playing in bigger leagues. Besides, how many of these players wenger has brought into the club and turn them into great players? i’m not that concerned about wenger signing unknown names.. I would say it’s nice to hear arsenal sign some bigger names, but they don’t guarantee success..

To S.H regarding your comment to Belleville regarding “enlightening his/her little brain”, you go on about this guy has only scored 10 in 30 due to not having rvp, song, arteta and Ramsey supplying him, maybe forgetting this guy plays for minows, the whole level is a lower class of football, yet at 24 years old, not a big name in football already, you think just pop him in the arsenal side and he’ll score for fun, tell me why hadn’t this worked for park, chamakh, bentdner, my list could go on, arsenal need a well known proven stricker, such as a podolski, Henry, Torres, not some usual gamble of he might be good, or good for the future, hope this enlightens your little brain,
Regards

sorry vermalenwasnt unknown, nor was santos and to be fair, neither was henry… wenger just turned the into the best (except santos yet) but we need a striker badly and gambling on an unkown is not what this transfer window is for, we need established talent if we buy, this isnt the season to integrate new and upcoming players yet

The only reason I see this happening is if he has decided not to play for Guinea. I just don’t see any reason why Wenger will buy another African striker knowing fully well that we will lose him for 1 month ( as high as 3 due to possibility of injuries and lost of form ) in January 2013.

@GLOB2008, funny you should say that, bro. I knew who of Henry, Nasri, Walcott, Santos e.g before they were at Arsenal….before they were even linked with Arsenal even. So yeah…might aswell add Park, Vermalaen even Sagna to that list. Maybe you just dont know too much about football?

Glob2008, you hit the nail right on the head. When people become cynical every time an unknown talent is brought to our attention, I get sick. Some so-called fans don’t even really know exactly why they support Arsenal. Arsenal is a unique club with a unique philosophy. You cannot just support the team (players) without showing same support for the ideology and philosophy that has nurtured these previously ‘unknown’ players and brought them to their present level of world-beaters. Non of our great players were ever known before they joined Arsenal. We cannot say the same for many many other clubs around the world who employ mangers who know nothing about discovering and polishing raw talent, but rather wait to poach from others (to raise a complete team) because they have the wherewithal to do so and feel no qualms about it.
Like I always say, nobody is more experienced than the boss, especially in the area of discovering talent and grooming them. True Arsenal fans must stop being cynical. But it is always okay to offer CONSTRUCTIVE criticisms.
Support Arsenal, Support the philosophy behind the club.

i amsure you knew of them plying this football level
thiery henry jioned monaco at 17 years of age and scored 20 goals in 52startin games,
1999 transfered at juventus at 22 years of age and scored 3 goals in 16 games.
1999 joined arsenal and failed to scored in 8 aperences till against south hampton. (thats how famous was henry before)
nasri played for marselle from 2004 to 2008 and hardly made it to internationals and after his move to arsenal was declared french player of the year 2010
wlacot at age 16 ( iam sure you heard a lot of him at south hampton)soon as he joined arsenal was gathered to englands squad for world cup. so to me they were un known but next time read, if you dont know what you talking about.
when you kne them they were jus players now tha every body knows them they are history

You say why this hasn’t worked with Park Chamakh and Bendtner and yet you mention wanting Torres????? Let me ask you how many goals has Torres scored this year and how much did Chelsea buy him for? Exactly go figure you numb nut!
So you’re saying lets spend big because that guarantees goals. You definitely have a small brain!
Before you embarrass yourself publicly, i admonish you to look at the real picture. We bought Henry for 11.2M and he scored 226 goals. Yet you want Podolski and Torres who will be worth over 15-20M. You’re an absolute fool!

And park has had only 4 games, yet you judge him already. You probably did this with Koscielny who only 2 years ago was playing in the French Div 2. Now look at his quality that he brings to the pitch every week.
Let me guess you wanted Phil jones and Cahill too? Simpleton!

S.H, great say. These flop only have small brain and hate the beauty philosophy of football. They just gamer and statistical reader, they hardly see realistic in financially and balancing. Because these fake fans are trying to bankrupt the club by pressing to buy big money scam bag flop who dont respect football like Nasri and then just walk away to support ManCity when Arsenal fail. Fake fans I know what you try to do, if you think 50million for less than 10 goals are well paid off thats 5 millions each goal not including wages, be realistic and do the math.

@S.H.- nicely put and I totally agree when you say these so called fans has small brains though I’ll add thick headed too. Thing is, these fans all follow what the media and the blogs go on and on against Arsenal. I find it amusing when this twats repeat the shit that the press shits about. I doubt that, even for a split second they think about what Arsenal really is. But then again, who can blame them?? There’s a big difference between a loyal fan, and “I-know-better-than-wenger fans”. I tend to just ignore these kind of people. For them, the glass is always going to half empty. COYG!

thos guys strikes me not as a striker but a Diaby. he is extremely technical and skillful, see d number of passes he made to teammates, but i think as a striker he should be further ahead on the pitch but i absolutely like his technical level. superb. (i watched Him on you tube)

The guy is a potential Adebayor but looks alot slower. For free, why not. I hope his consideration does terminate the consideration for Podolsky or Soldado. We still need one of them. And of course Gervinho needs to be challenged by bring in JuaN Manuel Vergas. Vertingen and Lucas Baglia could also be great additions now that Song seems to be the only “defender” capable of hoilding off Aguero
