Arsenal chasing young German international striker

Posted on June 17, 2011 by admin

It is being reported this morning that Arsene Wenger is considering a bid for the young Bayer Leverkusen striker Samed Yesil. The 17 year-old phenomonem has been prolific in the Germany U17 side, despite not yet making his full debut in the Bundesliga.

Yesil scored six goals in eight matches for the Germans to qualify for the U17 World Cup Finals, and then scored another three in the competition proper as his country lost to Holland in the Final, but he still came away with the Golden Boot.

This is certainly no fluke though as Talksport reveals that Yesil has also scored 24 goals in just 21 games for Leverkusens U19 team this season, and if he carries on his amazing run, is destined for the very top.

The German media have reported that Arsenal have been scouting him for some time and may approach Leverkusen with an offer this summer, but the Germans are unlikely to let him go without a fight.

If you truly believe Alex Ferguson isn’t monitoring this blog daily, you can think again. I know these things, uh huh.

Poorly written. Come on guys do you not read over articles after writing them?

” in the competition proper as his country ”

” Yesil has also scored 24 goals in just 21 goals ”

seems to be the trend at the moment, steady decline in quality.

(“in the competition proper” is actually good English I’m afraid, (see right hand side here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2010%E2%80%9311_UEFA_Europa_League) but as for the other one, perhaps you should try writing 10 articles a day without making an occasional mistake…. – ADMIN)

  9. Ray says:

Vela did very well in Youth World Cup, that is why we bought him. But now, seems that his style doesn’t suit us or doesn’t suit BPL so much.

Ryan Babel and Drenthe also shined in Youth World Cup, but where they are today? We thought they will shine in Liverpool and Real Madrid respectively but today they aren’t even as half shinning as Jack Wilshere.

We can buy young but young doesn’t guarantee 100% that they will do well when they reach mature stage, such risk we must take if we decided to buy young. When they matured, they might be valued lower than when we bought them. There are a lot factors in it, the coach, the training facilities, the team to help and the player itself.

It is good to buy young and develop them into super star but not everyday is Sunday – not every player can be develop, some might had reach their max capability. Buying youth itself and refuse to buy experience and proven player is an extemist way to manage a club, even with Barcelona youth accademy, they still need to buy experience players because they had proved that no club on this planet can produce a team from youth and all the production is the best on this planet. If you look at Barcelona example, some of their production is not even acceptable not to say best in the world, that is an area where they need to buy.

Of the latest article abt gervinho in dailymail, last line is as follows’Wenger is monitoring defenders Gary Cahill and Chris Samba to beef up his backline, while Gervinho’s Eden Hazard is also a target’.wat do u understand ?even d best writer can make mistakes(dey r humans not machines);)…..

(Lille have agreed to let Gervinho go, but Eden Hazard WILL NOT be leaving. Chris Samba is 90% certain to come to Arsenal, while Man City are favourites for Cahill, although Wenger is trying… -Admin)

  12. Why is Arsenal going for inexperienced under 20s players who are new to the game and cannot help a team to win trophies? This is very foolish of Wenger! They should buy people who are experienced and who are 22 years and above. If you have any of Arsenal’s addresses e.g. postal address, phone contacts/numbers,e-mail address, fax address or any of their addresses tell them this!

  13. Gery says:

Why, today, is it so easy to call an unproven 17 year old boy as a phenomenon? Or a star. You make them too over confident. Not a good thing for their development. Let them manage themselves, show something, achieve many things, get mature, before you call them STARS!

  14. gunner forever says:

Again 17 years old… I do not care if he is German. Fuck off, Wenger! And ADMIN you don’t write 10 articles a day! But your blog is great, however.

(I do, but only 5 or 6 are for justarsenal! I also write for some friends – Admin)

@admin the whole sentence doesn’t read well in my opinion, but maybe that’s just me. I’m not having a dig, just a little constructive criticism. However the criticism should be regarding the article not the way its written.

Its just a few articles have had abbreviations and spelling mistakes, missing sources. As a reader I just find it frustrating.

  17. Dan says:

You don’t want a 17 year old who scores 24 in 21 games? Whoever said that needs their head looking at. At the very least this guy is going to go up in value, so even if he doesn’t fit in at Arsenal he will be an investment, though if he maintains that prolific record at the highest level he will be a future football legend.

and @Rocky: The articles are the least of the worries this site has. Have you seen the grammatical knowledge (or lack of, as the case may be) of some of the people who post comments on here? I mean okenwa’s post for example, above your last, is barely intelligible. I think some people need to learn to clearly explain their thoughts to fellow fans before Monsieur Wenger will ever take any notice of them!
