Arsenal close in on Koscielny with £8m bid
Arsene Wenger said that he wanted all his transfer business out of the way before the World Cup started, and it looks like he is close to sealing a deal for the Lorient centre-back Laurent Koscielny.
The Sun reports this morning that Arsenal have increased their offer to £8m for the Frenchman, and have given Lorient until Thursday to make up their minds before Wenger will turn his attention elsewhere.
They also report that the player himself has agreed personal terms with the Gunners and is desperate for Lorient to accept their final offer immediately. Considering they paid only 1.5m euros for Koscielny 12 months ago, £8m would represent a significant profit on their initial outlay.
The 6ft 1in defender is only 24 years old, and is seen as the long-term partner for Thomas Vermaelen in the Arsenal back line, and his arrival will mean that William Gallas has certainly played his last game for the club.

I think wenger is coming now, after seeing the captain wants to leave because of no trophies. It is urgent for wenger to keep his players in order to get the long waited trophies after team build-up.

Arsenal should sell Fabregas for 50-60mil and buy Yoan Gourcuff, Eden Hazard, Milos Krasic and a top goal keeper. Also secure the Koscielny deal and keep Joe Cole away from Arsenal, he wouldn’t fit in well at Arsenal.

I think selling Phillip Senderos to Fulham is no big deal-After all he was already enjoying a loan spell an did not play play a big role in Arsenal defence last season. Wenger should utilize amount got from the sale to make a good buy for the club…Go well Sendeloss.
