Arsenal close in on young Real Madrid midfielder

Posted on August 03, 2011 by admin

It has been reported today that Arsene Wenger sent his scout, Francisco Cagigao, to the Under-17 World Club Championship in Madrid to watch some up-and-coming stars, and the Telegraph reports today that he was so impressed with the Real Madrid midfielder José Rodríguez Martínez (who actually won the Player-of-the-Tournament award) that he has persuaded him to join Arsenal.

The youngster’s hero is Xabi Alonso, and the official Real Madrid site describes him as: Jose has a good physique and is a rather technical central midfielder. He covers a lot of ground thanks to his strength and helps out in attack. He is powerful, resistent, and surprises opponents and makes crucial tackles.

He joined Madrid from Hercules in 2009 and progressed to make the Spain U17 international team, so is obviously talented, and if this video of him (playing against Barcelona in the semi-finals of the World Club Cup) is anything to go by, he may be good enough to replace Fabregas already!

    there is nothing wrong in buying these youngsters.after all the frustations with cesc,he has been a great player for us and would bring in good money when sold.and he cost peanuts.wenger is a wise man.he is reducing our debts.a normal fan would not understand its importance but he has been doing a great job.basically we have secure future with wilshere and ramsey.and it will be great even if this player chooses to go back to spain and get us a few millions.

    @dotun

    ur a little harsh but i regret 2 say that i believe u (but i hope wenger proves me wrong), 4 the past 4 seasons all his done is lived in fantasy land buy signing 16yr olds n making then into don’t get me wrong his made heaps of talent but at a great expense 2 the gunnerz legacy we r now renowned 4 finishing in the top 4, not title favourites or CL threats just Top 4 finish n a steppin stone in a players developement a.k.a a trading academy (MANc feeder club) n repeatedly he lies about EVERYTHING that happens in the transfer window we have 56m 2 spend n 2 weeks 2 spend it not 2 mention fab n nasri have taken all the BS (like the fans) that they can handle! his slowness in the market has cost arsenal the chance of getting mata on the cheap n an adequate replacement 4 fab/nasri, not to mention THAT dominant keeper n defence that we were promised will never happen n even if we miraculously r 1st at the end of the year come april we’ll collapse n finish 4th or lower n wenger will say AGAIN we were so close n we all will return to this very same situation a year older n another year depressed

    ME AGAIN
    i’m sorry to wenger lovers but f#@k u arsene u lying scum, pay back the stadium my a@s 300m in six seasons is nothing 4 the tickets u charge, not 2 mention selling the stadium name 4 100m , selling ade, henry, flamini, toure, hleb exc adds up 2 at least 100m n spending next 2 nothing 4 6 seasons straight makes up 100m so stop BS us n if we really r in debt how come were in the TOP 5 rich list huh? p.s if money’s the issue just get usmanov in charge n kick the american as$hOle (who can see how big a money arsenal is n doesn’t give 2 s$%ts about arsenal) back to the NBA n usmanov who is LITERALLY 5x richer then abrahomvich can get us back on track until then I H8 ARSENE WENGER with a passion

    @gunner

    Why would you want to moderate this??? It’s how people feel – generally let down by AW over the last 5 years. Everybody can see what needs to happen, i.e. sign a good goalie and 2 good defenders – but AW cannot seem to see this. He still wants to sign attackers and midfielders – WHY???????????

    We haven’t been able to hold a lead for at least 4 years. WHY NOT ADDRESS IT?

    I cannot see why you would quibble over Jagielka for 10m vs 15m when it may win you the title or at least retain 4th place??? MAKES NO SENSE. Especially as we haven’t signed to cover our needs…

    What would you do gunner??? You can seen we need defenders, he keeps signing attackers and 13 year olds. Do you think to yourself that all will be OK? I don’t.

    I think we’re scr*wed this season. We’ll be lucky to make 5th…. It’s really really frustrating.

    Let’s train the young man up to world standard and then act like idiots and allow Real Madrid to come and take him off us while we bite our finger nails and worry……and, of course, make a profit for the directors and share holders.

    WTF? Spend some money on established players now stupid. Cuz by the end of next season our reputation will be ruined once we drop out of the top 4 and don’t even make CL quarter finals, we will lose Nasri and Cesc for sure, and no players will want to make a move to us ever. The end of Arsenal. Invest to be the best.

    theres everything wrong with buying youngsters! it shows there putting more effort in the youngtsers than the senior team! we need a team NOW rather than 5 years time! We cant go on like this! we have money, its just no one above pat rice wants to spend it!!
