Arsenal debate: How can we make the board listen to the fans views?

Posted on January 15, 2013 by admin

Who are we to say – ‘There needs to be change at Arsenal Football Club’ by JM

Arsenal Football Club and the clubs board do not know, well they certainly do not take us seriously. Are we as a fan base happy with the last seven years? Are we happy with inconsistency and our goal of finishing just top four which has now turned into a scrap to keep our heads afloat. Are we happy seeing some of the best footballers the world has to offer leave. Are we happy with replacing them with ‘Potential’ at best or more usually some of the biggest flops this club has ever seen. Are we happy at paying the highest ticket prices?

The Arsenal fans must be the most forgiving of any fan base given that most fans I speak to are not happy with the way the club has conducted itself in it’s most recent history. Arsenal Football Club is declining in it’s ambitions, performances, stature and in it’s respect to the fans, yet we pay our money and turn up with hope that all this promise and potential comes together and that all our patience we have given was not for nothing

So what is wrong and why are the fans not being heard?

Firstly, we no longer have a place we can call home, our fortress, our stadium, maybe we it just needs it’s first taste of success to ingrain some history to our new home. Then comes the issue of allowing our best players to leave. They are the glue that holds all that potential together, who the youngsters look up to and who drive the team forward yet we watch them all leave. Last and by no means least is the issue with the clubs lack of ambition and killer instinct to acquire new, quality additions which leaves fans window after window scratching their head and wondering about what could have been.

I now come to the question ‘why the voice of the fans is not listened to?

This for me is the simplest issue, we pay the money they want and except for booing, don’t do anything about our decline and poor performances. So what steps do we take to make the club and board start to take us seriously, boycott the games, protest at the stadium.

Share your views of what you think we should do as the fans, without which the club would be non existent.

@John M Great Post. This a exactly the kind of thing thats driving us fans crazy. The club are not listening to us at all. Stan Kronke may own the shares but we own the club. Every penny in the club has been put there either directly or indirectly by us the fans. The club was great and successful before Wenger and the loathed board turned up. (Don’t forget George Graham, Herbert Chapman etc). Therfore, we the fans are entitled to have a say on whether or not we should retain our best players, or whether truely world class transfers are a necessity to come in such as a FALCAO or CAVANI. Wenger and his co-horts have neglected their duties to us as fans. They are custodians of the funds in the club and should at least take our wishes into account when thinking of what has to be done. As they are arrogantly ignoring us they will ultimately reap the whirlwind of our displeasure. We should boycot matches and stop buying merchandise. As soon as the money dries up Wenger, Kronke & Gazidis will soon piss off. Then we will get our club back.

Thats pretty simple because clearly enough gooners out there feel strongly just boycott the games tey will soon take note when half the stadium is missing. Clubs in varous leagues do this all the time and it is definately the most affective way .

I FEEL 100% THE SAME, WE AS A SUPPORTERS OF THE CLUB NEED TO STAND UP TO THESE MONEY HUNGARY BOARD AND LET THEM KNOW WHAT WE THINK OF THEM.
I THINK THAT WE SHOULD STOP BUYING TICKETS FULL STOP. IF THIS IS A BUSINESS ONLY CLUB THEN WE ARE NOT GETTING PAID.
TO ALL OUR FELLOW GUNNRERS JUST STOP BUYING TICKETS FFS..
