Arsenal Debate: Is Adam Kemp wrong about Arsene Wenger?

It’s Time To Talk About Kemp – By JG

This is the one and only time I am going to write an article about Adam “the negativity spreader” Kemp. I for one am tired of reading his articles (which always say the exact same things every single time). The number one reason I find his articles so abrasive, is because he has tailored them to only present certain facts which support the argument he continually makes. He leaves out critical information (probably by choice) to make his argument sound plausible. The following paragraph/s debunk his entire argument.

The most painfully obvious information he omits is the financing of the Emirates stadium. Never once has he ever mentioned the PUBLICLY ACCESSABLE records that show all the details of what Arsenal had to do to get the Emirates built. In those records, it shows that Arsenal are still quite a ways away from paying off all of the monies that were borrowed for such an undertaking (none of which other top clubs have attempted). Arsenal are under a CONTRACT which mandates how much (when and where) they are allowed to pay off annually. Some fans just have no grasp of how economics or fiscal responsibility works because they either haven’t taken any economics classes, poorly manage their own finances or have been programed to think spending money as soon as possible (the “now” mentality/generation) is the answer for everything.

Kemp says that he has no problem with Wenger up until the year 2005, that we should judge the record of the manager based on the last 6-7 years. Well, the stadium was finished in 2004 right? Is it just coincidence that when Arsenal started to pay back the loans (2005) that there was a decline in the trophy winning department? No, they actually go hand in hand. It’s common sense that once Arsenal decided to go through with the building the stadium, they would have to make cuts in other departments to make room for the annual loan payments on their “mortgage”. Otherwise, they would risk destroying the club financially for many years.

Due to the burden of these yearly loan payments Wenger started buying more “affordable” players. Did they all turn out to be world class bargains? Simple answer, no, some of them turned out to be horrible bargain signings (Sylvestre, Squillachi,). Did they still have to be paid somewhat competitive wages? Unfortunately, yes…unless you are suggesting that Wenger should have bought players that would accept 15,000 week?

Absolutely terrible players who didn’t show any skill at all? No, probably not. He was forced to sign cheaper players, but still had to compete with average league wages for “top 4 clubs”.

Even with the restrictions Wenger and the rest of the Arsenal management still tried their best to create a formidable team through some fantastic scouting choices and has ended up developing some of the greatest footballing talents the world has ever seen. Kemp speaks as if Van Persie is the player he is today because of all his own abilities…if it wasn’t for Wenger, keeping faith in his abilities, having patience even though he was injury prone, Arsenal (and probably the world) would have never seen the true potential of RVP. This goes for a lot of other past/present Arsenal players as well.

Kemp loves to present the gloomy facts, but equally enjoys excluding circumstances which have great involvement in those said facts. Injuries and bad refereeing have been major obstacles making an already burdened objective even more difficult. Add to that players leaving the club prematurely for bizarre reasons (Hleb, Flamini) or players prematurely leaving for selfish reasons (Adebayor, Nasri, Ashley Cole) and it gets even more complicated. On top of that, there is the normal ups and downs of players forms, and I don’t have to give any examples for that one.

I’m not even going to elaborate on the nearly endless list of injury problems or refereeing disasters, because these should be so bloody self evident that if you can’t admit their detrimental involvement in Arsenals recent lack of successes, then you are revoltingly idiotic, and cannot be counseled.

Arsene Wenger, is he perfect? No he is not, no one is, and he does make some strange decisions sometimes. I for one was very confused and upset when he decided to substitute Chamberlain for Arshavin in that infamous Manure battle this last season. As I can understand that he felt Arshavin might be able to pull off another spectacular goal like he did against Barcelona; but it just didn’t make sense at that time because Arshavin was in horrid form…really really low on confidence; and unfortunately Arshavin made a mistake which lead to Manures winning goal. There are plenty of other imperfections, but the positives GREATLY outweigh the negatives, so I like to focus on the positives, instead of nitpicking like a spoiled little baby about frivolities based on half-provided evidence.

The positives ARE increasing by the way. Arsenal in the last couple years, after finishing “the square” and other alternate means on income (lodgings), they have been able to announce profits up to 78 million. These profits WILL be reinvested into the team one way or another, rather than go straight into the board members’ pockets (as some misinformed people have been lead to believe). The board can only make money from Arsenal FC if their share prices increase in value, wait, let me reiterate that… The board can only make money from Arsenal FC if their share prices increase in value. The fans will see more signings this summer to accompany the already fantastic signing of Lucas “the Laser Podolski. (that’s a good nickname huh?)

In conclusion, do I think Adam Kemp is a Spurs fan in disguise? No, but I used to (lol). I respect Kemp for having high standards for Arsenal FC (the club we all love and support) even if those standards might be slightly extreme, given the external and ulterior factors which effect how the club operates. Kemp is just overall very negative, unintentionally encouraging the fans to become a mass of booing rioters who should tear down the barriers and blame blame blame, hate hate hate, kill kill kill.

In the end, Adam Kemp is just a very impatient bloke, he cannot wait for Arsenal to pay off their debts, he wants what he wants NOW, and if it doesn’t go his way he will find someone to blame. He placates to those of weak character, who believe that running a major football club is as easy as Football Manager or FIFA video games.

Kemp will always focus on the negatives and try to demoralize fans instead of galvanizing them.

It’s easy to fall prey to cynical and negative thinking, it’s harder to stick by your guns and stay loyal through thick and thin.

One or more great signings on the way, next season will be Arsenals season. I predict at least one trophy if not two (and it won’t just be the Carling Cup). COYG stay positive!

One thing I know for a fact won’t help the team win trophies, is a destabilized fan base. Don’t let the pundits and the media disunite us!

Let us know what you think. (and remember to be respectful in your comments)

Solid rebuttal, sir. I wait for Adam’s response. At the end of the day, there is absolutely no use in sugar coating things. Things are what they are. If a ball is purple then it’s purple, even though you want it to be blue. Positivity can be a good thing. Though, I find it conversing when positive people label those being realistic as “negative”. The world is what it is, Arsenal are what they are. Someone being positive about everything, ignoring faults and areas that need improving will never, ever get anywhere. That’s not being negative, it’s being realistic.

I say Arsenal’s forward line needs to be strengthened, our midfield needs more depth, attacking flair and defensive steel. Our defence needs more quality depth particularly on the flanks and our keeper needs stiff competition to push him harder to improve. You don’t want so much depth that players play for themselves and for their own place in the team, like City can tend to do, rather than for the team. With our squad at the moment, including Podli and RVP, we have more or less no chance at PL title and no hope of the CL titles, only FA Cup and CC. Our squad is simply not good enough and doesn’t have enough depth. Too much quantity over quality. We were five of six games and a lot on goal difference from the Manchester clubs, with the same or similar squad while they strength with proven players that gulf will not close in one season, if ever. I’m being realistic. Some would say negative. Those who would say negative would turn around and say something like “we have Vela and RVP is the lone striker. We have young players like Ryo and Ox coming through and Ramsey just needs game time. Sagna is a gun and Gibbs is good enough for left back and our keeper (I cbf trying to spell his name all the time) good, we don’t need another”.

I’ve probably said it in a roundabout way because I’m a bit tired, but basically we need a balance of positivity and negativity. But as an example of positivity let’s call negativity realism. See things and call things for what the are… Not what you want them to be.

What makes you think the 83million profit will be re invested in the team? Mr. Gazidis has just stated he wants to reduce the outgoings by 25 million, I dont share your optimism,if Rvp goes, Arsene will probably get that money to spend, but i doubt if they would give him any more! Usmanov could clear the stadium debt 2moro, without ruining the clubs wage policy,he made over a billion by selling his facebook shares, the decision not to give a man who owns 29% of the club a seat on the board is looking more ridiculous by the day!

I know its not easy to run a club still I think Wenger made a quite some bad emotional decisions there that slowed us down: he should have chosen Toure to be our captain and sold Gallas. and he should have had a better plan B in case Fabregas and Nasri left which happened quite predictably. Wenger is a genius but if only he had a cooler head we could have gotten something in the last 7 years.

A good read JG, shame it never came from someone like gazidas him self, by the board publicly declaring details as above and backing up with facts then Id like to think most gooners would unite and ride the waves until all debts were paid.

Then finishing in top four with limited resources and a hefty debt on our backs would be a thing to admire by all of football, what would they be thinking once the debt has been paid??
All teams will be having 1eye on us that’s for sure
Just as long as once the debts paid the monies is reinvested in arsenal dominantion.

    Ladies and Gents

If you read my comments relating to Adam article you will see that I agreed in most part with his assertions, other than laying the blame at Arsene Wengers door. As like this article I do genuinely believe he is trying to work with one hand tied behind his back due in some part to the financial restrictions. However I also believe that he is also having to deal with a CEO in GAZIDIS that has no understanding of the history of our beloved club….

    Let’s examine the facts
    (I) Gazidis was born in South Africa and moved to England when he was 4 years of age… Where did his family settle ….. MANCHESTER…
(ii) Gazidis attends Manchester Grammar School and supports which team …. MANCHESTER CITY.
(iii) He then attends Cambridge university, where he attains two blues for football before heading out to the USA to head up the MLS.

My conclusion is we have an intelligent man, who understands football and has a love for MANCHESTER CITY….

I can only assume that love for city is as deep as my love for the Arsenal as we are of a similar age and started to support our clubs at a similar age….

I forgot to mention GAZIDIS joined Arsenal at the beggining of 2009, having accepted the job in November 2008…

And what started in 2009 …. Oh yes that’s it …. Our player drain to MANCHESTER CITY… It started with Adeybayor and includes Toure, Clichy, Nasri et all….

    COINCIDENCE ???? You decide !!!!

But before you do, ask yourself one question

  18. DCC says:

The question is what right minded football club would sell it’s star players to a rival team…. ???

I have watched as Gazidis has offered ridiculous contracts to keep average players like Bendtner and Denilson, while allowing the contracts to run down on players like RVP, NASRI and WALCOTT.

He continues to display a complete lack of understanding as to what is required at the club and yet like Nero he fiddles while our club burns…. Is he Kroenkes lackey , I don’t know …

But when you look at the start of our demise as a true force in theworld of football, it started with the stabbing in the back of David Dein, who seemed to have the ability to actually negotiate with agents unlike Mr Gazidis ….

Now it is Mr Gazidis who is going to press indicating that we will focus on one or two quality signings…..

I think it’s time we said goodbye to Mr. Gazidis before we have no club to support !!!!

As Aa club we found ourselve buying affordable players that in some cases did a job but in others didn’t deliver but the common factor was they all received decent salaries.

Once the salary structure is addressed we can only hope that we are able to retain the decent players and off load the less accomplished which should also impact on the selection process of potential players to join Arsenal.

I believe in Wenger and his abilities but the board have got it wrong, at least in part.
I agree we should pay off our debts ASAP but they have been reluctant to obtain financial support from one of the richest men in the world who happens to be a share holder.

If they had approached him for financial support the club would be in a different situation it is now and probably would not have gone so long without trophies.

Loyalty and support is what Wenger needs most now and given the change in policy from the board on salaries this could be the start of good things to come!

I am mre of the Adam Kemp thought process, i admitt willingfully. Lidten depite your views, Adam speak only because he wants the best for Arsenal. Its clearly not a personal anti-Wenger vandetta like some think. Adam like me wants improvement, investment, new tactics new ideas. Not the STATUS QUO of CL football and the investors seeing the horses come in each season. I am certain hw wouldnt be so vocal if we were just making small genuine strides to improve each year.

Instead we have a coach who is out if ideas, uni-vision, stuborn, no one dares question his approach. Ive read from genuine sources he is a virtual dictator from everything from tactics, transfers, sales of players , wage policy etc

Thats UNHEALTHY!!!! No man is that big for a club, even AF at manure has people who do all of that stuff. Wenger is doing way too much for the clubs own good and as long as he delivers the constant revenue the dinosaurs Hill Wood and the revenue lech Gazidis wont say anything. Why would they……….

I could go on and on for hours but like Mr Kemp I would appreciate dearly a change of direction, but thats not going to happen. Its like ‘you cant fool all of the people all of the time’ Arsene. Only the most foolish Wengerite would believe in his vision.

Its like a poster wrote very well this week, ‘revenue first ambition last’ very sad indeed. A club like Swansea have more amition than us. Sad indeed but very true!

your article makes no sense. Are you not worried about the lack of silverware? Are you not worried that more teams which you considered as mediocre are leapfroging arsenal simply because they have a reasonable priority? Its about priority my friend and the arsenal board(and you may be part of it)should come out clean and tell us what they want most!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The fans are tired of being hoodwinked. We have all supported this great club for decades now but times have change and we need to change as well.
It is disgusting that arsenal cannot buy great players.Even more disgusting is the fact that world class players dont fancy coming to arsenal. When a player leaves asenal,he wins trophies with his new team.Does this mean other players have the ambition to leave arsenal?Does this mean thsi club will never win a trophy???????????????????????Man city was labelled manshitty by some myopic arsenal fans. They have won the premireship and are now a force to reckon with.Celsea was dubbed all kinds of names. They have won what arsenal MAY NEVER WIN and have eeven snapped up a player arsenal have courted for many months!! This is unbearable. Can a team like arsenal ever win even the carling cup with such world class players as oppositions??? .If arsenal want toEVER win a trophy, even the carling cup, they need to buy at least 5 very good players including a very good goal keeper, scessny or not! This is crazy

  25. This is a deep sh*** article.some of us have a realistic heart not an optimistic one.Are you sayin we should win nothing because we are servicing a loan that we used in building a stadium.Put this in your head.Man U have 10times the debt we are of-setting and still yet they are top performers. The big question is, will the ecomics of the board sustain arsenal or will additional investment by usmanov sustain arsenal?Personally and logically i would go for usmanov because he has ready cash that can clear the debt, invest in quality asset then apply the economics.Trust me if rvp leaves expect a descending spiral of such characters because of fredrich taylors management style.

no disrespect but r we supposed be trophyless n happy with a top 4 finish 4 20yrs after the debt is payed??? mr JG didn’t the board say arsene had 50m to spend last summer but the only money used was the nasri+fab money AND this season i get a feeling it’s gonna be RVP+Walcott(don’t mind much) transfer money but ur telling me we DO have spending power and think signing someone like m’villa 4 up to 20m is okay, so why have we never spent that money? we get raided but never raid a rival but we HAVE MONEY 2 SPEND so why can’t we raid spuds? or newcastle or everton or newcastle, we have the money(according 2 u), the class but i don’t think we have the ambition. before arsenal used 2 buy players off rivals like campbell or gallas but now we’re selling 2 city as if we’re there sister sorry feeder club, i want us to show we mean business WE HAVE THE MONEY and here are realistic signings we can make from rivals but won’t because the board HAVE NO AMBITION

fellani-final yr contract and quality alternative to m’villa
baines-we need an EXPERIENCED fullback and here he is
cabaye-again quality alternative 2 m’villa proven n tested in the PL
demba ba-great back up striker would come 2 arsenal in a heart beat
Papiss cisse-he again would jump ship
asso ekoto-we need a fullback n his quality
modric-his leaving either way and we need attacking flair AND this would give us a lift n RVP no option but to sign
suarez-his been flirting with every1 but arsenal he’d be great 4 us
ben arfra-the better and french version of walcott perfect replacement noone would remember who walcott was if he came
    exx, exc

MY POINT IS arsenal have spending power n never use it what makes u think they will now n if they don’t and sell RVP+SONG+WALCOTT n replace them with m’villa, giround n ben arfra or more likely say frimpong, Ox and podolski r the answer r u gonna just sit back n say we’re paying the stadium it’s fine, and i’ll pay alot more of MY MONEY than every1 else 2 see arsenal play even though my money’s not going in the rite place or r u gonna say, excuse me mr Gazidis, where the f&ck is my money? just look at our decline since the stadium we can’t get past the 70 point mark anymore so wat’s next r we gonna fall 2 60 pointsin a couple of seasons? we need change now man, call me negative if u want but that’s the truth, regardless

All we need is 2 trophies next season (Carling Cup, FA Cup) to make me (and a lot of other fans) happy. It will show we are capable of winning the “big” games. It will also help us keep the likes of Wilshere as they will already have 2 trophies to brag about (to Nasri).

To do this next season we need a clear out of deadwood (it wont be easy) and an investment of about 50m (half of which will be raised through deadwood sales).
Sell: deadwood (we know who they are)
Buy: Giroud, Belhanda, Good left back (somebody like baines). Gibbs is decent but to injury prone and i think he still needs time to develop, time we dont have because fans (like me) are getting restless.

Football fans nowadays live in a fantasy world. You can’t live on money that you don’t have, if you do you end up in a depression like the one America experienced in 2007. There is a huge bubble around football in europe at the moment and it is going to burst soon. It is impossible to run a sustainable business when three to four player of your players earn a 200K a week. If you like it or not, A FOOTBALL CLUB IS A BUSINESS.

If you take into account the mortgage payments every year, it is a lot of money. Imagine the amount of money that arsenal will have when those payments don’t have to be made anymore + the yearly revenue received from the highbury development.

At the end of the day we needed a modern stadium with a big capacity to be a top european club, why do you think Spuds just don’t quite cut it in the big leagues. Is it worth 10-15 year of our current system? DEFINITELY.

To say that we should put the financial future of AFC in danger so that our generation can experience success in trophies is SELFISH. FACT: The self-sustaining system that the current board and ARSENE WENGER have built will be the foundations of immense success once the stadium is payed off.

i am well impressed that so many gooners seem not to have an idea of how arsenal finances its operations. the ‘self sustaining model’ means that even with 12 multi billionaires on the board they dont throw money at the club to buy players and pay them exorbitant wages etc because if that funding was suddenly withdrawn, the club would be left contracted on a deal the club cant afford to service with their normal income generating operations, ie gate takings, TV rights, shirt sells etc

it is somewhat an admirable achievement to be in the position we’re in considering the project we undertook in building the emirates stadium. I just also happen to thnk that somewhere along the line we have to look to win trophies to balance that equation of success out. Thats were usmanov’s money should come in. If these board members are truely for the greater success, why not merge their values with that of a fellow OWNER other than think they are better off going @ it alone?? It makes no sense. I sincerely hope its more than just ur own sense of pride mr chairman & ur fellow board members.. Millions of fans also have alot of hurt & shelved pride. 7years old in fact… Id love to see mr usmanov as part of the arsenal team. I believe he’s that one all important missing signing we need…lol eitherway,, the ball is in ur court mr gazidiz & co. one more season of these atrocious decisions,,, we’ll be calling for ur head GUARANT DAMN TEED!!! what a perfect article mate. I disagree with one thing though, it wasnt just the emirates, but the loss of david dein! It is sad and baffling that we as a club can get over the loss of great players like, viera, adams, henry, wright, bergkamp and all the rest but not such a vital member of the board. I truly believe if David Dein was still at the claub we would of at least been more competitive over the last 6 or 7 years. I think arsene lost his greatest asset and ally when Dein was pushed out of the club. but I too think that we are building a stronger foundation for ourselves yea r on year. I am a realist and havent held much hope for us over last couple of seasons, but i know our time will come again, just need to be patient and i have a sneaky feeling it might just start next year, can see little pieces of the puzzle falling into place now. if we can just make the 2-3 signings we need, and that is all we need then we could be a real force. and once again to all the wenger out crew, name me one manager in all world football who could of kept this team as competitive as it has been over the last 6 years?? or one team that could of lost so many important players and still been at the top end of there league??? there isnt any!!

@skwirm,, good point mate.. But we’re not saying over do it.. but if u sell ur best players,, the least u can do is replace them with the same calibre or better innit?? Its common sense & shows a competitive edge. Guys, we lost 2of the most highly rated creative midfielders in the world & dint replace them?? How is that a sign of positivity & foward movement?? We’r in a rut.. The same old story of next season, potential,, & an ever depleting &none growing squad in terms of quality.. It sucks always being the loser. winning means more perks, more money, larger fan base. We’re not sayin overspend but the board leave themselves vulnerable coz the eye is on them. The squad & wenger shud be given a tap on the back for doin well enuf to keep us in the champs league. It was indeed a titanic effort from a relatively poor squad. They did their part so y cant the board compliment their efforts with strengthening & not depleting?? If rvp leaves,,,, if rvp leaves,,, the thought alone…

I look forward to Adam Kemp’s rebuttal.

Just a couple of comments on this article:
    1. Blaming bad luck – all teams have bad luck and bad refacing decisions against them. That’s life. No an argument.
    2. Not being competitive due to injury – that’s called lack of depth. Solution – a stronger team (not just our first 11).
    3. A manager is scrutinised for his decisions. Overall AW is a fantastic manager. But if a manager makes a decision that loses a team a crucial match? What if he decision is in the final of the world cup? And the decision loses a country their shot at glory? Is the manager not responsible? The issue is that a game lost in the middle of the season, and it can be easy to just put it down to a bad decision, but the cumulative effect of bad decisions can equal another lost season. (just putting it out there – again, I actually rate AW highly).
    4. 7 years with no silverware – acceptable for a top 4 club? Acceptable for Arseanl? …. Personally, I say no. S-E-V-E-N!!!! When is it not acceptable? 8 years? 10? 20? It’s all a matter of where you draw the line isn’t it.

Well written article, and worthy of debate. We all love our club, so we should be able o discuss these things with respect and passion alike.

Totally agree with the article. Well balanced and says it as it is.

I woulld also add to the calls for Usmanov to be given a place on the board. He OWNS 29.6% of the Club. According to the rules, at 30% he has a ‘ legal right to see the Clib’s Accounts, AND a place on the Board – Please correct me if I’m wrong on those two points.

    The Hypocrisy is:

Peter Hill Wood Famously said of Stan Kroenke ‘ Arsenal Football Club doesn’t need ‘His Sort’.

He then offered him a place on the Board, with a 9% Share Holding – Kroenke had bought Granada TV’S 9% Stake in Arsenal.

    The IRONY is -

It was David Dein, probably the best and most dynamio Board Director Arsenal have ever had, (and the man who brought Arsene Wenger to the Club, when ALMOST everyone else in the Football World was saying ‘Arsene Who’?)- who encouraged Stan Kroenke to buy the Granada Shares.

He would probaly have sold his shares to Kroenke, if Silent Stan had been prepared tyo buy them at the time.

As we all know Dein sold his shares to Usmanov – and would NOW be Usmanov’s representative on the Board. Dein is more than ‘emotional’ about Arsenal – he has Arsenal in his blood. He is an extremely well connedcted ‘Mover and Shaker in the Football World – and he still has a rock solid relationship, and huge personal AND professional influence over Arsene Wenger – ALL of Wengers BEST Transfer signings were made when Arsene and David worked as a Team.

Ivan Gadzidis does NOT want Conflict.

Arsenal Fans DO want, and will untimately DEMAND a GENUINE DEBATE over the PRESENT and FUTURE direction of THEIR Football Club.

The Arsenal Fanbase, who are the Lifeblood of the Club, WILL NOT tolerate COMPLECENCY from a group of ‘nodding ‘Yes’Men’.

A working compromise MUST be found between Kroenke and Usmanov (Via David Dein) which allows for measured ongoing consistent, increased investment in the team, and the push for Silverware and Trophy Success (Wenger and Dein) and Pre-Season Word Tours, Partnerships, Sponsorships, Merchandising, and Commercial Revenues. (Gazidis and Kroenke)- without breaking the principles of the Club’s Financial Model

    It’s NOT Rocket Science.!!!!

Nice article, but i don’t think paying of debt is an an excuse for lack of arsenal silverware. Was debt payment the cause of arsenal losing carling cup to birminham city? We all want one thing, ARSENAL FC should start winning trouphies, and it can be done if we sign quality and not quantity players. I for one want ivan gazidi to leave arsenal, i just want we all to smile next season by winning @ least a trouphy, may next season be good for ARSENAL FC.

Yes the economics are important, yes we have to pay off the stadium and yes, Adem Kemp points fingers and blames anyone he can.

However, the fact of the matter is, if we do not spend now, more players will want to leave.

If we keep losing our top players as a result of not winning any trophies, the best players in Europe will just keep going to Man City, Manure, Chelsea etc, who can afford them, allowing them to keep strengthening.

Honestly, look at Chelsea, United and City. Bar city, How many of their top players have left in the last 5 years, stretch that to ten years even?

If we fail to strengthen, the reality is that Arsenal will slowly be unable to bridge the gap between the teams that are always strengthening with world class talent every year.
Our best players will just keep being sold, the young talent will leave when they’re reaching their peak and the best we’ll be aiming for will probably be top 4 every season.

The dangers are there for all to see, if you stop winning trophies and for even one year drop out of those champions league spots, it could be a long long time before getting back in (Liverpool).

Lets just hope we get a few top talents in for next season in the positions where it’s required. I for one would love to see Arsenal competeting for trophies again, rather than squabbling and possibly missing out on top 4, which could have catastrophic consequences for the future of our club.

All my team needs is a proper back bone, even before Arsene Wenger that was the Arsenals most winning trait. Now that we have our confident leader in RvP and personally an even stronger voice on the pitch in vice captain TV5. No matter what side of the gooner fence you’re on we all can’t wait for Wilshere to come back as strong as ever, and he WILL make a difference. All that I really want from the management is to get rid of at least 5 under performing first teamers, promote at least 2 from the reserve squad, buy 1 raw gem plus M’Vila

The Emirates Move and The Departure of David Dein

Ivan Gazidis Heart dont belong to arsenal where david dein’s did and he put his heart and soul into arsenal but because of certain members of the board that was more worried about the profits going into their pockets than the football club he was forced to come off the board

Wenger has Done very Well in keeping the club Afloat with The massive 350 million pound loan for the emirates and still buying players that would keep us in the champions league and 2 years ago was the only club in the country competing for all four Titles and cups and i believe that soley down to the mistakes in that match in the final at wembley took the life out of arsenal and we ended falling short but wenger has done very well and of course there must be players out there he wants to buy but he just cant afford! I truly believe that we will win something next year regardless of what it is along side many true arsenal fans that will support anyone to do with the club that we love !

  70. Richman says:

I think that was a very loyal article, blindly loyal I dare say. I like what Mr Wenger has done and I really consider him one of the best managers the game of football has ever seen. I do not, however, agree with his player policies. i think over the years his intelligence has impacted negatively on Arsenal. Adam Kemp is probably an Arsenal fan who is losing the love for the club just like many people people who come to read articles on sites like this one, hoping and praying that the news on the day can give some reasonable indication of progression towards silverware glory. His criticism should not draw animosity from fellow Arsenal fans (like JG whom I’m afraid is a propagandist) but it should ring alarm bells of the direction of opinions of certain fans who may be as far from London as myself could be taking. That maybe the majority of gunners are no longer blind loyalists who believe blindly in their manager as do Manures, but they are now angry less opinionated individuals who believe the club cares more about profits than football success. It is scary if you think of it that way, how many Arsenal fans out there are now of this opinion. I know we have heard of the Stadium loans story and all but I think its a card that’s been played a little too much to the extreme, lets look at what just happened to Juventus this past season. I do not think Adam Kemp is a negativist (or I hope) I just think he is one angry Arsenal fan who deserves to be, and clearly the board could use half a man like him. What I am saying is that instead of writing a long article criticizing a critic, why don’t we seat down and check if that critic’s view is not a tip of the ice-bag of the whole arsenal family that has just manifested in one uncompromising fan.

JD i think its easier for you to come here and tell us how good you are with Economics that you understand what happens at Arsenal, let me tell you one thing – the board can increase that share price by bringing in bigger player brands as are doing Manure in signing Asians.
