Arsenal face competition for Sahin and Afellay
Arsene Wenger might have to use some French charm if he wants to obtain the services of Real Madrid’s Nuri Sahin or Barcelona’s Ibrahim Afellay. Both young midfielders are available, but both seem determined to break in to the first team at their current clubs.
Jose Mourinho has been honest with 23-year old Turkish international Sahin, telling him that it might be in the youngster’s best interest to go on loan. He is facing a struggle to get much playing time, especially if the capture of Luka Modric from Tottenham is completed.
Sahin has turned down a permanent move and is still dithering over going on loan. The Daily Mail also reports that Inter Milan and their city rivals AC Milan are going to try to take the deep lying midfield playmaker to Italy. Wenger needs to contact Sahin in order to convince him that he would do well to come to Arsenal.
Ibrahim Afellay is in a similar situation at Barcelona, except Barcelona are willing to let him go permanently. The Dutchman has also been told that he will struggle to get a game, and has already turned down a transfer to PSG. He has told his coach that he wants to fight for his place and has gone with Barcelona on their pre-season tour.
Afellay was started in Barcelona’s first game as part of a front three with Messi and Alexis. He played well but failed to capitalise on his goal scoring chances. He will probably still struggle to break into Barcelona’s first team, but has Wenger already got his eyes elsewhere? Cazorla from Malaga perhaps. We should hear more very soon.

Defensive tactics need urgent attention. I dont think it is a matter of buying more defenders, just getting the back four to work as a unit and communicate more effectively, if anything we should be snapping up a CDM as soon as possible! Any news on the M’vila situation?

I think we’d be better off with Cazorla than Afellay, based on the small amount I’ve seen of both, but I’m certainly no expert on them. Afellay has only only occasionally impressed at Barcelona and Cazorla seems to be more assured. Of course, the difference in their two teams skews things certainly, to be fair.
Sahin would provide depth, if only to spell Arteta and Song, and later, Jack hopefully (fingers crossed).

Cazorla sahin and affellay are all rumours? as for who is better cazorla £20m affelay £4m sahin is only on loan. i think that tells you that sahin and cazorla are the better players. but until squillaci bendtner and park move on their is no room at the in. even if they do i have heard that lansbury and eastmond will be getting 2 of those spaces in the squad. meaning that if we want to sign more than 1 player chamakh arshavin rvp walcott djourou or fabianski will have to move on.n

@stefan well officialy of course not ,due to respect to your current club.His agent saying this and it is the best for both parties that cazorla leaves. if u want official quotes ,arteta and wenger made them ,they said he is a very good player showing defenitine interest.Plus bendtner is leaving wenger said this swap deal sounds realistic to me cause malage placed themselves for cl football so it isnt a bad club for bendtner also.

We dont need sahin, we already got diaby,arteta,wilshere and song if we sign m’vila in that position.
As for gibbs,santos and jenkinson. They are good but need to learn how to defend as a unit. Jenkinson looks like a great potential !

I definitely don’t Ser any problems with any of these 3 players. All would add something different to the squad and we obviously won’t add all 3. Cazorla is the primary target! We tried last season to get him before Malaga’s moneybags came calling. He’s got more experience and is st the perfect age to bring in. Top class player. But as usual Wenger won’t spender overboard with an offer. We should find out very soon if Malaga pay their debts or if Santi will okay at Arsensl
We’re not gonna get into a bidding war for Sahin or Affelay. I’d rather buy Affelay than take Sahin on loan but I will be happy if either comes to Play for us.

IMO, Cazorla is a must-get for arsenal given the injury records and lack of depth in that region. He has strength, skill, experience good dribbling and nice pass, who remembers the friendly against England a yr ago. Santi was the man. I think affelay is good buh who gives a damn about what RVP feels, Lets go for Cazorla, and take our chance on Sahin. Deo Gracias!

Yeah we could do with a def. mid having on your face approach like viera,keane rather than sahin.Frimpong is of this mold but he is quite raw.Sahin is good in the role of deep playmaker like pirlo.He would be a quality addition but if I had to choose between a hard tackling def. mid and sahin then I would choose the def. mid.We will definitely need Cazorla.

Sahin and affellay are needed and welcome at the emirate stadium. All we need is good changes. Arsenal need to stop selling the stars but buy the big stars to achieve something. I think arsenal is one of the richiest club and the boad need to stop keep saying their spent their money wisely if they really need trophy. Have to agree with you again. I will still admit to liking Song in the harder nosed defensive midfield spot, but his ability to help the attack has seen him be allowed to roam forward, even though he’s still probably the best defensive midfielder on the team. Frimpong probably isn’t quite ready and Arteta can basically function deeper if he has to, but you illustrate the problem adding more players like Sahin, as good as he is, because he is, but I think our overall approach dictates we should probably always employ a single, absolutely defensive minded, steely tackling holding mid, and we don’t have many capable candidates.

Well at the moment, my mind is already set for our record signing, in some few hours Carzola will be in…..after dat we can den seat and talk about Sahin’s loan deal, as for Afellay he’s gonna remain a Barca player dis season! With those two, we’r good to go!

There’s class in all players mentioned. Even if we acquire 1, I’ll be happy. We just need a fresh injection in the CAM position. Rosicky is injured again and Ramsey isn’t cut out for the first team.

Arsenal have shown good example without any moneybag owners like chitty and chelsky even PSG. A.C Milan once praised arsenal for the magnificent emirates stadium which they can’t afford for now. i think arsenal will sign carzola but we really need to get some players like Squillaci out of the club. We need solid players all round if we want to compete. Look at Chelski, they have made some solid buys and they are still in the market. We need to move fast, we need to sign a goal keeper like Julio Cesar. We need a quick tough tackling defensive midfielder like M’villa. we also need a quality defender. Djourou is not just good enough for the arsenal, my opinion is that Miguel is better than him. Djourou is never composed.

i dont think we need to keep on buying attackers, we have a great attack. RVP, podolski, giroud, walcott, oxlade and gervinho are the ‘good ones’ if we get rid off all the deal wood these would be great buys. we need defensive players we drew 2-2 with malaysia. getting sahin on loan would be fine but we are doing madrid a favor which we dont need to do we should try and buy him. also what happened to m’vila? is AW still interested? if so why not try to get him, i mean diaby isnt a world class player and at times hes proven to be a liability. our starting xi and bench players next season should be giving AW a massive headache.

I’ve been an Arsenal supporter maybe before some of you ever been born yet. So don’t curse on me, I’m just telling it because I’ve seen a lot of them this ‘plastic fan’.
At time a lot of this so call fan are supporting Liverpool, because they were the team to beat and winning a lot of trophies too but NOW they are supporting ManU or Chelsea. I’ve seen that happen, that why I bring this up.
ManU is nothing at that period of time just like Liverpool today and Chelsea, no one knew them. ManCT, on the other hand only their local support them dearly and good at it even though ManU have their glory time now, they stood by their club and even when they been regelated they stood by their club and for that I salute them for their loyal support.
