Arsenal Has Plenty Of Leaders Now
One of the criticisms of Arsenal in recent seasons is that they do not have enough leaders on the pitch. But after the transfer dealings this summer you could wonder if the Gunners now have too many potential leaders on the pitch.
Van Persie is of course the Arsenal captain at the moment, although he does not have that role for his country. Vermaelen the vice-captain at Arsenal is the captain of Belgium, although he did not play in their last international game as he has been out of the side for so long.
Meanwhile Yossi Benayoun is the captain of Israel and he played for his country over the weekend. Unfortunately Israel lost to Greece 1-0 in their Euro 2012 qualifier.
Young Aaron Ramsey is already the captain of Wales and he scored to help his country beat Montenegro in Cardiff.
Finally captain of South Korea, Park Chu-Young scored a hat-trick in a 6-0 win over Lebanon to help their World Cup qualifying campaign.
Wenger will be pleased that his players are doing so well on international duty and have so far avoided injury. He’ll hope that the players can bring their leadership experience back to the club and help Arsenal become less of a push-over.

It would be interesting to see how things change for the better for Arsenal after the acquisition of the fantastic five. If we must compete at the highest level however, we need to start planning to have two world class players for each position because of injuries and we must devise ways of keeping our players in future when they reach maturity.

Lets just hope no one gets injured especially R.V.P,plus Rosicky is also Czech’s captain and he had a fantastic game today.we can only hope their national team form translate into good things for Arsenal,our season starts against swansea on saturday.IAWT

our team looks nicely balanced now with santos, mertesacker and arteta, these three should go straight into our first team, im just worried about our team confidence as it would have been shatterd by the 8-2 defeat, i hope all the players can pick their selfs up and get back to wining ways.

Chu-Young’s hatrick is impressive. Maybe RVP should play in that similar position behind Chu-young like he did in the Netherlands game. Gna be exciting to see what those two can cook up, with Gervinho, Miyachi, Walcott, Wilshere/Arteta feeding them we should expect some quality goals. I can sleep at night knowing we have Adams 2.0 in our defence, also experienced Santos and the Verminator. I wouldn’t pick anyone over Sagna either. All in all Arsenal should do well, and in January we can look forward to the golden boy joining us too – Eden Hazard. Come on you GOONERS!!!!

What is wrong with you? Rosicky is the Captain of the Czech Republic and Andey Arshavin is the captain of Russia.
Though not National captains, Mertesacker was the team captain of Werder Bremen and Arteta was the captain of Everton.

I aint worried abt de psyche of our boys by de horrible 8-2 Defeat, This SQUAD WE HV NOW,(except RVP, Walcot,& TV5),IS A BRAND NEW SQUAD WHO WERENT ON DE FIELD ON DAT HORRIBLE DAY SO THEY’LL HV COMPLETE DETACHMNT FRM DAT GAME! My worries rather,though only slightly,has 2 do wth de unprecedented gathern of CAPTAINS IN DE NEW SQUAD ALL COMN DEFINITELY WTH THIER INDIVIDUAL EGOS! @gooner8.2 a club like us wont hav ego,only clubs with 2 many stars wil hav ego like mancity and not bcos they captain their team.for instance kaka got totally overshadowed by ronaldo while he was at d centre of attraction at ac milan.apparently adam johnsons unhappy with samir as his starting place is threatened.IF man city(unfortunately moneys having a say in d beautiful game) avoid and prevent any ego,then i easily tip them 2 win d title… I want us 2 b at top3 and win champs league!!

Don’t underestimate swansea please!
small teams get fired up after this kinda break as they don’t have alot of players out on international duties so they are having a good rest to give it a go against our jet-lagged superstars.
its not gonna be easy win, we will have to work hard for it.
i just hope we find the net at lest twice in the first half.

Not just a team of captains but winners look how we have collapsed in the last 2 seasons when we could have won league how many players in that time have wanted to sweat for us now every one wants give it all no one will be allowed to drop their head not thinking about where their next move is for more money

u 4got mert’s was captain of bremen n vice of international team (i think not sure though might be schwienstigger instead) , i think we could of used 1 more winner (hazard) then we would have been set but i guess this is alrite if we finish 4th or higher this season then we should be able 2 bring a couple of big guns, n players like wilshere, ramsey n hopefully walcott will finally become WC n then we can FINALLY win the league

It is exciting to finally have a team that has so many potential leaders…
This will create good healthy competition in the team.
But the team has to respect the ‘anointed’ captain which RVP for the meantime.
Now we should be able to have someone taking leadership responsibility in defence – NOt sure whether that should be Vermalean or Mertesacker… I guess time will tell.
Another for defensive Midfield – Song.

All i know is that these players can carry the team until then we need hazard cahill and mvilla though this is a long shot but imagine arsenal playing 3-4-3 i know many people will disagree but have a look at this team

a leader wages must be in line with other leaders of his class. we can’t have all these captains on our team and underpaid them, wenger need to address this issue in order to balance the scales.
