Arsenal injury update – Nasri, Vermaelen, Song and Rosicky
Arsene Wenger is preparing his team to face Wolves, and he has already given us the good news that Cesc Fabregas and Robin Van Persie will be in the Arsenal line-up despite being withdrawn from their internationals this week.
We have not such good news about Sami Nasri though, he won’t be ready until next weekend at the earliest, which means he will miss both Wolves and the big game against Barcelona on Wednesday.
“Samir is continuing his progress. It is difficult to assess. He should be fit to be competitive in one week. He is training already,” Wenger said yesterday.
Alex Song is looking good to replace the suspended Diaby though. “He should be fit, he is 90 per cent there,” Wenger said about him.
Thomas Rosicky is definitely out though, after returning from his international with an injury. Wenger said: “Rosicky has a groin problem coming back from the Czech Republic so he is not involved,”
Lastly we have the never-ending injury to Thomas Vermaelen. Yet again Wenger is still not certain when the big Belgian will return. He thinks he has recovered, but won’t return to full training for a few weeks, and even then he will need some time in the reserves.
“He is doing better and he is in the normal process of rehabilitation,” Wenger “When he will be fit again, I don’t know. It is very difficult to set any time on it. Something like three weeks.”
So even if Wenger is finally telling us something close to the truth, it will be nearer the end of March before we see Vermaelen on the pitch again. But don’t hold your breath………

Just watched Soccer Saturday and have been hearing Paul Merson banging on about if George Graham was still in charge we would have never have conceeded four goals against NewCastle. Although I don’t doubt Merson is an arsenal fan it is obvious he has got a personal issue with Wenger for letting him go. Thanks to Charie Nicolas for stepping in and reminding everyone that if George Graham was still in charge – Arsenal wounldn’t have scored fours goals in the first place!

thats wel harsh on rosicky , hes never looked the same since coming bk from injury . he was out for 2 years for f-sake ! its not coz he cant be bothered or coz he dnt try or coz hes lazy or coz he dnt love arsenal , so comments like that are bang outa order . he was world class and one of our better players b4 injury struck him down dnt u think hes going through enuf already ?

watch this video of hazard!! he’s amazing but, as a lot of people on just arsenal consistently say “you can make anyone look good on youtube”…. but every1 says he has an amazing future and hopefully his future will be at arsenal!! wenger’s gotta use his powers of persuasion if he wants hazard goes chelsea’s on the hunt for him and they WILL be prepared to spend millions!!!!
I personally think our squad would be stronger if wenger bought: Sakho,Hazard,Chamberlain,M.richards/Van der wiel/D.Santon & Erikson. sell: Rosicky, and few other’s..We don’t need new keeper.

I agree with Bilzo kid, although he put it rather harshly, Rosicky is simply not good enough with bendtner, and arshavin is to inconsistant, apart from that and vermaelen still out for month or so, GOOD NEWS!

god if arsenal so called fans are not moaning about one player they moan about another, if i was a player (~sorry in ur world ,world class player , still makes me laff that world class player bit)i would never want join arsenal with thier moaning over spoilt over weight fans,who just moan all the time. rosicky not that bad a player and will give 100% for arsenal , ok he may not be playing well but he better then some players i seen in our shirt over the years.
