Arsenal interest in Pavlyuchenko confirmed by agent
The agent of the out-of-favour Tottenham striker Roman Pavlyuchenko has confirmed that Arsenal are one of the clubs interested in signing his client, along with Roma, Spartak Moscow and Zenit St Petersburg.
Arsene Wenger is desperately searching for a world-class striker that is available cheaply and can play in the Champions League, and he won’t have to look further than across London to find he candidate that ticks all the boxes.
“We are not happy about his situation at Tottenham, so we’ll do everything to ensure that he can change club in January,” said his agent Oleg Artemov.
“There were contacts with Roma but for now only by phone.
“Interested in the player are also Spartak Moscow, Arsenal and Zenit, anything can happen.”
With Van Persie out for the season, and regular injuries to Nicolas Bendtner and Eduardo, Wenger has assured the Arsenal fans that he is “in the market” for a striker next month.

James Beatie anyone???? big, strong, available, cheap and will move over when the new bopys develop?
Why would we want Beatie? He seems to have typical Ade attitude. is that what we really want? If we were ok with attitudes that sucked we would have kept ade as he wasnt a bad player(atleast not worse than Beatie) just had a crap attitude..
b, understand what you’re saying, but Beattie would cost us peanuts,(we needed the cash when we sold the scumbag) he’d have a few things to prove too, if he couldn’t score at Arsenal where could he score, i think his attitude could be a good thing, when it get’s physical he’s happy to step in for the boys, obviously this would never happen but would be an interesting solution to our crisis.
I thought Pav and Arshavin didn’t have the best of relationships… though that is just something I don’t have an article to link or anything, just thought I remembered hearing it/reading it somewhere.
Either way, if Wenger is going to buy a striker, I’d put Pav on the lower end of the list.
However, knowing AW, he will get a 20 year old for 5mil that no one has heard of.
