Arsenal keen on ANOTHER Spanish midfielder
It is being reported this morning that Arsene Wenger has not finished his investment in the growing Arsenal squad, and is still looking for another top class creative midfielder, and it seems he is now looking at another cast-off from one of Spain’s giants.
This time the focus is on the out-of-favour midfielder Estaban Granero, who returned to Real Madrid after two promising seasons at Getafe, but is still way down the pecking order in Jose Mourinho’s star-studded team.
Granero was brought back to the Bernabeau for a cut-price 3.5m euros, but as he is taking 1.5m out of the coffers every season, Madrid will be happy to just take a good profit on the deal and get him off their wage bill.
The 24 year-old got a taste of regular football at Getafe and after only featuring eight times for Madrid last season he will jump at the chance to move to North London if Wenger will promise him regular playing time.
The Spanish radio station Cadena Ser has revealed the Gunners’ interest in Granero, and believe Wenger could snare the playmaker at a good price in January with just 18 months remaining on his contract.

There`s no doubt in my mind that the player market is beginning to change and with the introduction of the Financial Fair Play rules being introduced 2012/13 many talented players will come within the range of clubs who are, at the moment ,out in the cold (Arsenal being one).
The `money bags` can only house so many top players and they will have to justify their transactions. Yes, they`ll get around some of the rules but managers across Europe will be monitoring their activities very closely and asking relevent questions from time to time. The bubble is about to burst.

Wenger, No more the summer mistakes. Being linked with so many players is not the issue. Get ready made quality-likes of Hazard, M’Villa and Gotze. No more players who are out of favour at their clubs. Arsenal is not a second tier club.I hope Wenger has realised the importance of quality players in a team by comparing the contribution of Cesc to the Barca in just four matches to what he did at Arsenal in the last two years of his stay @ the Emirates. RVP was just phenomenal for his country because of the quality of players in the team.
Please lets go for tried and tested players, not those who go out on loan only to return to the club as a bench warmer. Enough of that Wenger. Mr. Asene, you are too experienced to be making the trivial mistakes you have been commiting.

for me, there’s a FULL of midfield in arsenal team..wenger had not even tested oxlade and miyaichi yet..i’m sure that wenger won’t buy any more midfield after arteta ang benayoun arrived..plus frimpong and coaquelin from our academy..AT LEAST!! wenger get rid 1 or 2 midfield from club list..i wish diaby and denilson..and MAYBE, MAYBE and maybe only the best midfielder who can beat all midfield we have that wenger should consider to sign..in my opinion, hazard is the only one that ideally wenger should try to sign..he admit that he love and want to play with this club..and the salary that maybe he demand is suitable with our club..(not over 110,000 per week) it’s a good business to loose 2 player and get QUALITY player like hazard..

Cahill showed against Manchester why he is not already an England regular and why Arsenal valued him at half the asking price. He will be one for the future but Arsenal need quality now.
Arteta is an experienced out -of-the-box-midfielder who has the team experience, is a grafter and will give 110% as most players do when they set upto a bigger club then they were playing at previously.
Hazzard would be an immense buy but we need to steady the ship with could results first. Seeing a team trounced 8 – 2 by anyone other than barca would make you think twice about joining them even though we fielded 8 reserve players.
Wenger will come good, just hope keeper and RVP stay fit and a top for and domestic cup could be in our reach!

Aussie Jack – you make some good points. If nothing else, the fair play rules may help the richer clubs from hoarding all the quality players. Quite often, some real talent goes unnoticed because they simply don’t get the time on the pitch to show what they are capable of. Look at Kaka at RM. He is total quality, but is used as a bench warmer, and rarely gets a start. It will only benefit the game to see some good players move away from Barca and RM, as they are forced to empty their squads a little. Who knows what gems may appear from them.

would rather have lassana or canales to estaban granero .. they r more options ..lassana has the strenght n determination , canales the potential to be a super player .. granero is just in the team to make up the numbers and the fact hes from the real madrid youth set up it will be hard for him to move unless hes being told that there will be no playing time for him

see, MR wenger , i don’t buy the idea of bringing in GRANERO at all, because this player is been on the bench for so long in real Madrid,instead of buying this guy, get us players like HAZARD, M’VILLA, GOTZE, and probably one more DEFENDER like CAHILL, and the right back who can watch over sagna in case of any injury or suspension.
i think that would be the best idea for now, stop dreaming of drop out players.

We have cover for Sagna in Jenks. We would need players who can quickly slot in as Arteta has done. Players like Hazard and M”villa can come in by January to give serious contention for silverware while shedding Squilly Bentdner, Denilson, Almunia and our Med-team. Next summer we can go for the Erickson guy at ajax…he is highly rated by Bergkamp. If the asking fee for Cahill is reduced then yea if not there are better-value options as Mert has proved. We’ve got the talent to compete we need depth and confidence.
