Arsenal keen to swap Chamakh for unhappy England international
All the latest Arsenal transfer news on the grapevie this morning is concerning the possible loan move for Thierry Henry after Arsene Wenger admitted that a short-term (6 week) signing would be “ideal”, but there is still much discussion before the New York Red Bulls would consider giving permission for that to happen.
Meanwhile today’s Star reveals that Arsenal are also looking at the possibility of bringing in the out-of-favour Fulham and England striker Bobby Zamora, who has reportedly fallen out with his new manager Martin Jol and is looking for a way out of Craven Cottage.
The Star says that Wenger is set to offer Jol the Moroccan international Marouane Chamakh in exchange for Zamora if a quick decision can’t be made on Henry quickly, as Arsenal can’t afford to wait until the African Cup of Nations to begin before bringing in some cover for Robin Van Persie.
The Dutchman has never played a full season for the Gunners and Wenger risks being left high and dry if fatigue or injury hits his talismanic captain so his priority signing in early January must be someone to relieve the pressure on Van Persie to perform in every game.
Zamora also is looking for more first team action to increase his chances of going to the Euros with England, and with the 30 year-old not needing any time to settle into the Premiership he could be a very sensible signing by Wenger.
Who thinks that Zamora is a more practical option than bringing back the 34 year-old King Henry as a short term confidence booster?

@T2T although Thierry would have to do an awful lot to ruin his iconic status i do agree. Just the chance of seeing the king struggle would kill me. The man done more than enough for us.
That said i cant deny the buzz id feel seeing him back in the famous red and white.

@jackson k, you are right. GERVINHO OR WALCOTT PLAYING BEHINDE HIM WILL BE GREAT. As for Zamora it will be a Good Option cos Chamakh is just not worth been a Gunner. For Henry no Comment at all. I also believe that Park do need a chance to prove HIS WORTH.

TH14 presence in training is ok for the team, all we need is a strong nd fit striker who can provide an adequate suport for RVP(recordbreaker), podolski, rodalega,zamora not forgeting a left back cos l dont belive Gibbs would ever stop getting injured.

I’ll rather we have none of them.
Henry is icon but fans will definately slay he when he fall 2short of expection, due to age ( still he’s better than Chamahk). Bobby Zamora is above 30yrs already, so why sign a reflection?
We need long term support for RVP, some1 who’ll be Cheap, young, prolific and with premiership experience- Demba Ba.
Demba ba record speaks for him, he might not be quickest off the block but he his versatile and daring. At a good age of 26years- he’ll be a real pillar for RVP, as he can comfortably stand in when RVP needs a rest.
And we wont have to pay mega bucks for him (less than £10). He’ll take away pressure from our young strikers ( Afobe, Freeman, Campbell) allowin them to slot-in and master their role perfectly.

Bring both! King Henry will obviously get more time to play, but he’s only gonna be at us for 6 weeks (unless he ends up staying permanantly… Fingers-crossed!), and then Zamora can take the back up position. Even if we also get Podolski, he would probably want to be a first team player, and with RVP, Zamora can again be back up. His problem if it means he’ll still get little playing time, better than being at the shittest PL club in London!

I honestly don’t think we need Henry.Atleast it won’t do his legendary status good considering the fact that Theo wears the no 14.I don’t even think we need Zamora.He’s not,and will not be,in RVP’s class.We need a top,top talent in that dept like Podolski and Cavani.

I dont hv any problem wit signin TH 4 6weeks, my only concern is hs statue. Personaly my respect 4 hm wld neva change irrespectv of hs performance but i do not think d same 4 oda fan. our standards seem to be dropping. looking at the best teams strikers: Madrid have benzema and higuain, Milan have pato ibrahimovic robinho and cassano! city have aguero balotelli dzeko tevez…. so why are arsenal being linked with players like Zamora and rodellega. Sure they are good, but not for a top 4 team like us

id go for henry even if we didnt need him he could be like giggs for utd and is still a very good player id even try and sign him and see his days out at the club he loves!! but we do need a goal scorer i dont even want to think where we would be in the table if rvp gets injured! eden dezko £15 mill worth asking about he must be sick of been on the city bench and no he wont be on our bench he can play on the right and the left plus with him in the team i think a 442 formation could come back

I would ‘love’ to see Henry back at Arsenal! For me, he will always be a legend. But other fans will probably change minds anf thoughts if he did come back and didn’t perform…

Zamora is perfect as he still young can manage EPL as he is also used. He is strong can score goals even in tough matches like he did when his team played against Man U last season

I’ll still like to say that wenger is the architect of arsenal’s barren years in epl and this bitter truth does mean i’m calling for his head but he needs to be told. I really think spurs will finish above us in the epl table this year and my reasons aren’t far fetched. Arsenal seems to be the only team where dead woods like chamack, arsh, squillaci, djourou are celebrated and preferred to quality players. Arsenal is full of inconsistent players, though we’r still managing to get results for now and for how long and how far these inconsistent players will carry us is what i don’t know. Wenger isn’t getting the best out of this so called young players because of lack of competition and he feels he has a big squad but one major injury will decide our fate and thats the fucking bid squad wenger has. Players like ramsey and walcott are always nowhere to be found in big games but come any small team, they’ll be showing talent. What has rvp got for all his days in arsenal? should rvp decide to move on, would you blame him? when did fabregas leave and how many cups can he be proud of now? Isn’t his football career more successful than rvp’s due to some silly decisions from the parsimonious wenger. He should loan henry and say bye to rvp in the summer. spurs are equipping their team with quality signings despite their position in the table and what arsenal is doing is loaning a 34 yr old henry. I wish wenger all the best in giving his players nothing to show for their footballing career under him.

I would prefer none of them, Y oh Y do we always look to the cheap option, its beyond me, the money must be there afterall the 2 major shareholders are billionaires and yet always the cheap option. Bobby Zamora and Wayne bridge aren’t going to win us anything, sorry if I sound very negative but that’s the truth. Zamora is good but he isn’t the best. I’d rather buy Damba Ba his a great finishers and his been showing that for Newcastle, we need quality but if Wenger is going to sign a true out and out striker like Podolski then Zamora may be ok as a back up. Bridge on the hand is a very wasteful signing his a no good wasteman. Plays more golf then football. Plus his not worth the £90k that he gets from Shitty. What I don’t underhand is there are so many possibilities but Arsene goes for Bridge and Zamora

Just cos AW enquired about Zamora doesn’t mean he is committed to buying him, it seems to me like a back up plan to me! No use getting Djemba Ba as someone earlier suggested cos he also is going to ANC. Someone also said he was looking for a temporary solution to the striker problem but this is not the case! He is looking for a temporary solution to the full back problem not the striker! I think bridge could do a job for us. Signings in Bridge, Podolski, Gourcuff and Biglia. Out AA, MC, TR oh and get Yossi permanently. I hope it happens but it probably won’t happy Christmas one and all.

Ju Young Park is fit but Wenger is looking for a backup for RVP as others are off to Aricans Cup although he said he bought in Ju Young Park for that reason. I would love for a top quality striker and full back to come in all I am saying is this is proof that it was a mistake to go bargain hunting for second rate players. Cheap, expensive or whatever we need the right sort of players.

the only player imo than arsenal need is a winger, gervinho just really aint doing it for me, lacks creativity and real pase or any crossing ability and his final ball is often terrible as well as he’s wastefull with possesion, and wilshere will be back to fill the other weak link that is ramsey (as much as i like him he loses possesion far to often aswell) and with those 2 players arsenal could seriosely content for top 3 finish

Seeing TH14 again would be good but his contribution to this club has long gone so i fear any on field exploits by TH14 would be pointless. perhaps getting alexandre pato from AC would be wise, his fallen down AC s pecking order and would be a great addition to arsenals attack, as he is a natural talent and better than zamora or rodeallga and nearly came back in ’07. also i say rain on tottenham and chelseas parade and steal cahill!
