Arsenal keeper ready to Polish off Montpellier
Wojciech Szczesny will make his debut in this season’s Champions league on Wednesday when Arsenal host the French champions Montpellier on matchday five. The Polish international keeper is in bullish mood after Arsenal saw off Tottenham in the North London derby.
“We couldn’t get a better time to play that game. We are buzzing today, we can’t wait for the next game. We’re confident.
“We’ve had a couple of poor results recently, but we’re back on track and we’re confident that we can get the three points and qualify for the knockout stages, which is the least you can expect from us.
“We want to make sure that we do the job properly and qualify.”
Szczesny knows that he has good competition for his starting place from Vito Mannone and that should keep him on his toes. The 22-year old has a great attitude and is naturally confident, rarely dwelling on mistakes. He has been at Arsenal since 2006 and was delighted to be able to give the fans a great victory over Tottenham to reward them for the great support, even when things were going badly this season.
“I think the team and the fans work as a unit, and they were fantastic, they helped us to get a boost before the game, and helped to keep us going.
“They deserve alot of credit for the result as well. We’re certainly hoping that they can keep it the same and help us to win all the fixtures coming up.”
We will do our best, Wojciech.

The best keeper we will ever have hear me now they will fear him in the future, stunning reaction saves and so passionate.
We all love a hot head and boy he is not one to hide away when they concede he has a winning mentality, he is a legend in the making.

@palmer17 If only
But the thing about him, he is already a flop before he goes to city, unlike Nasri,Toure and Adebayor who were decent lol.
Opinions divided. What do you think?

Potential Subs:
Ox for podolski
Ox for walcott
Arshavin for Cazorla
Arshavin for podolski (rotate carzorla to LW and arshavin in CAM)
Arshavin for podolski
Gnabry for podolski or walcott
Coquelin for Arteta/Wilshere
Chamakh for Giroud (controversial, haha, only if we are winning, he needs to find his form again and won’t until he can play again)
Eisfeld is also an option, i find that the younger players are actually more likely to shake up a game because they try things out, although i doubt we will have trouble with montpellier who are the weakest side in our group.
PLEASE NO SANTOS OR RAMSEY (he needs a loan or couple of matches off before slowly being introduced back into the squad (as a sub) and essentially not on the wings, no where near enough pace or crossing ability to play there) and we need crossers now that we have a typical powerful striker like Giroud.
haha, sorry for length, i might have to write an article because i have so much to say about this squad of recent

nahh it’s not only belhanda to watch out folks, you know they have nothing to lose and they will play for the pride of the team. i would say every one of them can make a damage, but as we are at home and we are in fantastic run, we need carzola and wilshere to run the midfield but lets hope their CB can have a bad day, coz he marked giroud last time we played for 80 min, so lets hope giroud to score 2 goals and podi and wilshere to assist him, 2-0 to the arsenal.

bendtner on arsenal Transfer;
i think he is talking a real shit hear, and this has been a song of the fans and journalists and now it develops this year to past arsenal players: I think we must just offload the players that we aren’t gonna use at all like djouroue, squid…etc and bring 4 new players and promote eisfield,gnabry….etc as wellas we must start to keep our stars.
if we sell walcott, then arsenal have officially lost the plot. he is on of our best player and he represents arsenal and wenger, if wenger sell him then i will not trust in wenger youth system, coz why waste time to develope walcott and play him 6 years n arsenal then when he mature and be a better player selling him!!
here is what bendner said: relax i didn’t type it i just copy and paste it here from dailymail
‘You feel it’s maybe even a bigger step than Arsenal. ‘I thought it would be good for me to come here to a big club with big expectations, sort of how it was at Arsenal when I first went there. With all the tradition, if you can make it here and score goals then you can make it anywhere.
‘Arsenal have sold off a lot of stars and not replaced them whereas Juventus would not sell one star without bringing in another straightaway. That’s what has kept them on top of the pile.
‘From what I’m hearing, some of the players left because they didn’t feel Arsenal still had the same ambitions as they did.
‘I can’t blame people for wanting to go to United or Barcelona. Robin has been brilliant since he’s been at United. He was the main man as soon as Cesc left. He became captain and took the responsibility. Everybody could see he had that ability at Arsenal and now he’s improved because he probably thought he could get better at United.
‘I feel that if I was still there I would be able to compete for a place. Despite what happened to me it’s still a great club and I still feel for some people there. I wouldn’t say that I can never ever go back but at the moment it’s not on my mind.’
‘I don’t have a bad word to say about Arsenal but if you had to compare the trophies then Juventus are like Manchester United,’ he says.

IMO “back on track” means winning 3-5 games in a row not just a victory over spuds! There’s still so much more work to do. The team is only playing at 80% capacity. We had our strongest team against spuds, which in recent weeks have failed to be convincing. We have a good chance to get on a good run. The Everton game next week will be an important one to position ourselves in 4th place before Jan. We have to win to mark our serious intention of being competitive with the top 3! If Chelsea beat or draw against Man City that would work in our favour.
We have an easy run until Jan, with 11 games that we can win in all comps. If we can win all of them, which I highly believe we can, this season could get more interesting than we initially expected. COYG WE CAN DO IT!

@ S.H
totally Agree..
Arsenal is probably only playing at 70-80% of its capability..
confidence level is building though not at its optimum yet…a good run of winning the next 3-4 games could be a good start….
coordination is still not there yet as most players are new and Wilshere will need time to gel with the rest..

@Hafiz-Rahman and imran
Yeah very true guys. I agree with both points. Diaby is a very essential piece in the Arsenal jigsaw puzzle. He is the only CDM with power or presence. So many people are calling for a stirker in Jan, but I 100% believe we need a DM and LB more urgently. We have Giroud, podolski, Walcott, Chamakh who can all fill in the lone striker role. We don’t have the same options at DM or LB.
Currently the weakest link in the squad is Ramsey. Coquelin should get more time. The Frenchman has pace and versatility. I feel Arteta is not only wasted at the back, but our possession in the opponent’s half also drops. Countless times have I seen Cazorla run back to help defend when teams play higher up the pitch to stop Arteta or Cazorla from advancing. They wouldn’t dare play the same game with Diaby protecting the CBs, as he can play box-to-box which leads to counter-attacks. Tottenham tried to do the same thing in the second half, and at one stage almost succeeded in scoring the much needed 3rd goal. And they were 1 man down. Imagine if we had Diaby in there, the score could have been 6-1, 7-1.

@S.H. I agree,we lack a physical presence in the midfield but I doubt we are going to buy any DM in January,havent heard any rumours about us watching any DM.But Wenger may just make a cheeky bid for M’vila as his value has dropped because of the ban.

@ Gunnerineverylife
You’re spot on, Mvila would be a steal but I actually like Capoue’s versatility more. I’m actually glad we’re not hearing rumours about buying a DM in Jan. I mean we were surprised with Wenger buying Cazorla and Santos. There were no rumours, it just happened. I guess in Cazorla’s case it was a matter of luck but Wenger was interested in him 2 years ago so he’s always been on the radar. You never know but my gut feeling is the same as yours.
