Arsenal line up £5million bid for Ligue 1 defender
According to a report this morning, Arsene Wenger is lining up a £5million bid for the talented young defender Aymen Abdennour who currently plys his his trade at Toulouse in the French Ligue 1.
The Sun says that Arsenal have been scouting the 22 year-old for the last six months and are now prepared to bring him to the Emirates this summer.
Abdennour has only broken into the Toulouse first team this season, but he has been so impressive that the French club have recently given him a substantial pay rise and a new contract extension in the hope of warding off suitors, but if Arsenal come calling they will be hard pressed to resist a quick profit for a player they signed from Étoile du Sahel for a negligible fee last summer.
Although Abdennour has only notched up 20 appearances in Ligue 1, he has also played 10 times for the Tunisian national side, so is not lacking in experience, and another reason that he has appealed to Wenger is the fact that he can play on the left-wing as well as left-back where he is needed as cover for the injury-prone Kieran Gibbs.
Dont know him…but looking at his record,
Id buy VERTONGHEN, he got much more experience at the highest level
(is the best player, and also the most scoring defender in the dutch league)

i would like to see vortonghen sign for arsenal aswell , however our 1st team players seem better to me + i like our bfg too for different qualities . so i do wonder if it would be a good signing for him . i cant give an opinion cos i havent seen this other player but thers normally a method in arsenes madness + from what i read in the article it sounds like a sound move . he will be learning from the best defending unit in the league next year if he does sign . hats off to wenger for that .

Am very sure wen Verminator,Kos nd sagna came on board they were nt d players d fans wanted an average fan wuld prefer a player in d level of J.T, Vidic,Ramos etc. Bt they made major impact in their debut seasons. Why criticise standin by d corridor pray he come out good if we eventually sign him. Gunaz 4 lyf.

Aymen Abdennour is a talented defender. He is a much better player than Scillacci and Djouro put together.

abennour is a good player he is better than gibbs and we were intrested last summer.
at arsenal starts are made not bought.
i dont think this will happen as we also have pedro bhotelho joining the first team next season

This guy really wears his heart on his sleeve, just what the Arsenal need, boy can he make a last ditch tackle.(Watch him on youtube). He could be a real gem. Everybody calling for big names, ‘how do you know they are going to be a success’? (Torres, nearly every high profil Arsenal player that left us, the list is endless. lf you’re trained to play a certain way, then you move to another club tactics, training etc are different, your role, position, movement are not the same, you may stuggle. Or you may adapt.
Any signing is a gambe, high profile or not

Arsenal should buy players inorder to keep its best players for the next season. The should put thier hand on the market to buy there or four players for the next season. One the most wonted player is VERTONGHEN. He is talented players who has much exprience, so as an arsenal fun/supporter i shouldn’t be happy to see this player to sign for other clubs. Mr.Wenger must open his eyes and do something for this player. not only this player there is a need to buy other as weel. victory to the best team Arsenal.
