Arsenal linked with £4m giant African striker!
We have a new piece of Arsenal transfer gossip this evening from the Times.
They are saying that Arsene Wenger is considering a move for the 6ft 8 inch Ivory Coast striker Lacina Traoré, who is currently playing for CFR Cluj in Romania.
Traore is only 19 years old, but his size and strength has already gained him six goals from just twenty-one games for Cluj, and he is hotly tipped as a star of the future.
Many pundits have been calling him the new “Adebayor” but with his size he is closer to a Drogba style of striker, and if he progresses at this rate he may end up replacing the Chelsea hitman in the Ivory Coast national team.
The Cluj president, Iuliu Muresan , said today: “We had a first contact with Arsenal, but have not yet received any concrete offer.
“Four million Euros is close to the amount we require to release the player.
“Traore will leave when we receive an offer close to its value”
The player himself has also admitted that he is keen to move to the Emirates if the Arsenal interest becomes a firm offer. “It would be like a dream to play in a team like Arsenal,” he said. “but I do not want to think about that because there is nothing concrete yet and I do not want to raise my hopes too much”
If Wenger can get him now for just £4m it could be the bargain of the century!

We have nothing but the two best goals he has ever scored as footage to watch of the lad. Anyone can look great when you take their two best moments. His size is great but this definitely wouldn’t be a immediate impact kind of player, he would be in our system for at least a few years to bulid up some strength and skill.
Also, your Drogba comparison is a joke. Just because he is a striker from the Ivory Coast you make that comparison, but it couldn’t be farther off the mark. Drogba has more strength in his pinky than this lad has right now, he is a tall toothpick at this point, Walcott could dominate him physically.
Where is Martin Taylor ? In what league is he playing? We have dudu and we have arshavin. 3rd on league table n game in hand. Nothing more exciting than this in January.

Not to keen on a player we will lose every two years to the African cup of Nations. And it’s not just for one month. Them players are always exhausted after that tournament and don’t start playing their best football till about April or may. Or if you look at Kolo Toure, he was playing great for us and then he went away to that and the same footballer never came back!
