Arsenal Look Set To Miss Out On Spanish Starlet

Posted on October 01, 2011 by admin

Last month we brought you the news that Arsenal were to do battle with Barcelona over Spanish striking sensation Francisco Alcacer Garcia, but Valencia are desperate to keep hold of him and are preparing to offer the 18 year-old a new contract which would tie him to the club until 2016.

Valencia hope that by offering Alcacer a new contract it will put to an end all the speculation, but earlier this year he refused their offer. Now that Arsenal and Barcelona’s interest has become public Valencia have been given the wake up call that they need and will try again with the new and improved contract.

Alcacer is one of the brightest young talents in Spain and has represented his country at all age groups scoring plenty of goals.

If Arsenal really want Alcacer surely it wouldn’t matter how long is left on his contract. It remains to be seen if the interest is taken any further, but I hope it is not a case of buy a Spanish youngster and sell him back to Spain in a few years so the likes of Barcelona can get the best out of him.

He’ll be back in Spain by the age of 24 or 25 at the latest but I still wouldn’t mind flipping him for 30-35 mil then. I really want Douglas-costa or renato augusto bc I think arsenal can ACTUALLY get either of them

i agree gooner fresh its ok getting these youngsters if we sell them for a profit like you mention. surely though we need to tighten up at the back, but it is always attacking options that are mentioned

In all my years of supporting Arsenal, and particularly since we have had two transfer Windows, I have never known the start of a season so infested with speculation as to who Arsenal will sign next.
Both the media AND Gooner sites are equally guilty of anticipating the January Window in a way I do not recall in the past.
I wonder whether the last day deals during the Summer have anything to do with it, as though the signings were merely a stopgap until the New Year.
I would welcome the views of Admin and others. Am I sensing something significant which simply isn’t there?

i wouldnt care if we miss out on another homesick spanish who’ll running back to mama after few years. its good to be think that we could sell him back to spain and make profits but it hurts our team especially and leave a massive hole like cesc did.
i wouldn’t mind renato and douglas costa but i am not sure they will win work permit. maybe renato as he’s been in germany for a while or douglas costa trying special talent visa as he’s still young. it will be painful to sign either of them only to be turned down for work permit.
