Arsenal need to start using Arshavin again

I know you all might be in shock after losing to the championship side Blackburn Rovers. I don’t want to add to your grief but please do read this article. We can’t completely blame Mr. Wenger. He was the one who brought up so many talented players to the world, whether it be Van Persie, Samir Nasri, Cesc Fabregas, Alex Song and so on. But I assure you that there are hardly a handful of names you will remember if I ask you to name some players who retired at Arsenal (as a gooner).
Why is it so? Why do players not want to stay in this beautiful club? Unfortunately players who think a hundred times before signing a contract are given more priority than people like Arshavin who really would love to play at Arsenal. This week we specially remember him as we recollect the memories of the glorious win against Barcelona at the Emirates two years ago.
But unfortunately he is hardly given a chance to play nowadays. For your information, Arshavin has played just two complete 90 minute matches this season which were the two Capital One Cup games against Coventry city and of course the epic 7-5 win against Reading. His performance was awesome and of the best quality, as quoted by Wenger. He was the ultimate reason for Walcott’s first and last goal.
I find no reason why Arshavin is not starting for Arsenal. He is in fact not even available on the bench nowadays. Now what can we expect from a player who has hardly played this season to do in 10 minutes time against a team like Chelsea. He has to be given more of a chance and the fans must support the underrated and off form hero, who no doubt has the ability to score against teams like Barca.

I’m not being funny but I think arshavin ha lost it. It not thorough any fault of his own though coz he wa constantly playe out of position by wenger.
Btw the previous article on this site was total BS. Saying that united are only winning the title coz of rvp and the FA? That’s stupid. In case u hasn’t noticed they have also lost a few top player over the years but have always challenged, the reason for that is fergie. In the interview with bbc he recently said that there was no chance united would go 5 years without a trophy wen he’s in charge. The man is competitive something wenger was but sadly now isnt

Wenger choose the one he wants not according credit, there’s no reason for diaby and ramsy to keep starting ahead of rosicky, then gervinho ahead of arshavin,again what the f**k did prince poldi do to not start or even play in 3 consecutive games?? While he’s a better finisher to giroud even at the centre, finally is chamberlain overrated or its wenger who is mis instructing him?? 1 more question when will wenger move on from the fast old days..in 8years 0 trophy 0 change

I agree, we need to give respect to the players who choose to retire at the club, or at least give them a chance, like in rosicky’s and arshavin’s cases where they barely play.

all i can say for now is that if we cant even beat blackburn what do u think bayern will do to us. At this point in time, even 2-0 loss i wouldnt mind.
P.s most of you arsenal fans on here are the most fickle hypocrites in the world. You were all naming a weaker side to start and now that we lost you are saying wenger is stupid for not starting the best team. I mean, do you guys have memory loss or something?
If i remember correctly, 24 hours ago everyone was so happy praising wenger and saying arsenal full of world class players. No more than 24 hour later you scream the opposite like a bunch of losers.

Hilarious that something I keep seeing is people complaing that Ramsey or Diaby start ahead of Rosicky. Do these people not watch the games or not know where they play. I mean sure, Rosicky is better than Ramsey and Diaby but I’m sure that Ronaldo is better than Arbeloa but you wouldn’t see him playing Right Back. Well Gervinjo is the worst Arsenal player and he is playing why should he play befre Arshavin. arshavin is by far better than him and still not playing.Arshavin scored a very difficult goal against Barca, gervinjo cant score a tap in goal against Blackburn.

To win you need your best 11. The russian sadly is not one of them. As we have seen in the blackburn game we need creativity and critical finishing. Arshavin might of been a good player, but that is just it, he was good and now we have better.(Sort of, maybe, not always,not in important games) still we kinda have better( sometimes, when we play football and not pretend to play by uselessly running around with the ball)

Arshavin isnt fit enough to play. He an santos seemed to love eating and got chubby. H would just cause more harm to the team just being out there. Arsene should have been using them more in the cup competitions and as subs in the league in games that we were comfy but he didnt and they are very unfit

The Board don’t pay him to Win Trophys anymore, they pay him to make the books look good and earn them lots of money, that’s why he can get away with saying ‘top 4 is a Trophy’, if they wanted to win anything they would of sacked him on the spot as soon as he said that.. & the Board won’t sack him because they know if they did they wouldn’t get anyone in to do the same job.. i cant see Mourinho or whoever wanting to Manage Arsenal and competing for 4th… 8 Trophyless years will soon be a decade, but the books will look good…

It is not that Arshavin is a bad player. At his best he is brilliant. The problem is he is very inconsistent. Of course this is partly because he doesn’t play much.
The main thing is that CAM is a position where we have many players! On the wing he isn’t great. Not an easy situation.

I’m gonna go ahead and sort of disagree with you there (“Office Space”)… I have watched Arshavin play for many years, and I think he just doesn’t have it anymore. It’s like he lost his interest in the game, or something. He doesn’t look to be in his best form, and seems completely uninterested at times. His best years are behind him, and we need to let him go. The money that he makes sitting on the bench (or not sitting at all), can be better off spent someplace else.

guys come on.I’m going to totally agree with this guy. You’re not getting the point, In this article Arshavin is just an example, where as players like Rosicky are also involved. His question was perfect, how many Arsenal players you could say have retired at Arsenal.Now if we fellow fans r given an opputunity to play for Arsenal will move to Manu.
