Arsenal Opinion: Should Ryo Miyaichi be given a chance this season?
What Is To Become of Ryo Miyaichi?
This is a tough subject. Ryo Miyaichi has shown some absolutely “beast-like” attributes since coming onto the premier league scene; but what is to become of him, now that he has proven to be such a killer on the flanks in the most difficult league in the world?
I’m curious to know what fellow gooners think should happen in concerns to Miyaichi. Take into consideration the fact that Walcott hasn’t signed a new contract yet. Take into consideration that Miyaichi has already been loaned twice. Take into consideration the video below, just to refresh your memories of just how dangerous and skilled the Japanese international is, even when playing against teams like Manshitty and chelsević.
In my opinion Miyaichi should be a bench player next season, or at least in rotation with either Gervinho, Chamberlain, Podolski or Walcott (if he stays); this would allow our wingers to rest / not get overworked. Let us know what you think.

I hate to say this but he’s miles better than Theo was at that age an got more potential but I want theo to stay as he’s an English boy an we don’t av many an he is getting better every year but I agree ryo should be on the bench at least. On another note we should pull out all the stops an get affelay he might persuade rvp to sign but that’s my appinion.

Why does everyone assume Podolski will play on the wings. he’s a natural centre forward and with RVP going its mlre probable he’ll play lone striker, we have more depth on the wings than we did for strikers. Besides why would Wenger leave Gervinho on the bench already after his first season as a winger.
That’s why I believe next season Miyaichi will be back-up to Gervinho but I’d only expect him to play about 20 or so games.

Ryo not ready yet he doesnt need to much pressure on the boy, 1 more loan spell, or keep him until jan so he can play carlin cup games, but then loan him out in january he defo needs a loan spell and hopefully he will be ready for 2013-14 season

Oh my, I never realized how much that kid has improved. I think he should be loaned for 6 months next season, to a club like Southampton or Wigan to get more used to physicality of BPL.

yes let him get first team experiance ! let him play as sub for 1 or 2 prem games to give him the cnfidence in an arsenal shirt then let him start in carling and fa cup matches! had enough of good players go on loan!

He is as quick if not quicker than walcott and can beat a man so much better its scary,i would personally loan him to a swansea or wigan(good footballing side) and take him back for 2nd half,if it werent for walcotts knack of scoring i would say sell him and chuck ryo in now…really excited about this kid

I’m a great Fan of Ryo. And I think he is way better than Gervinho. He should be given a chance he earned it man.
His Speed is unbelievable and so is his dribbling.
When he has the ball, defenders are scared.
His Balance and passing skills are great.
Walcott has speed but even in speed Ryo is faster.
But Ryo is Fearless has great stepovers and great passing, something walcott has not.
I have him come on as an Impact Player rotating with Gervinho.
I love him and he’s a star.
Don’t loan him out, let him run defences ragged!!!

but it is a shame, because Mr. Wenger will sell them all when they are 23 – 24 years,

Don’t overrate him. After reading the following review by an Bolton fan I think he should be loaned out one more season…the review reminds me also a little bit of Walcott.

ryo.. Treat him like fab, ox, & theo.. (cz he’s better than theo when theo was his age). being around the big boys would do him well. If he’s content with guaranteed carling & fa cup games & a few sub appearances, id keep him. he’d be frustrated with another loan spell so i hope he stays & shows walcott that we already have replacements for him if he dares plot treachury!!!!

I would rather he played 15 matches for us than 30 for someone else. thats just me being selfish. he doesnt take up a place in the 25 so no need to loan him. imagine having ryo ox gerv podolski plus theo and affellay to rotate.around giroud and 1 more striker, hoepfully still rvp but if its someone else so be it.

Nooo homie! he absolutely cannot be loaned again!if you want him to continue a healthy development there is NO substitute for the tutelage of arsene Wenger! He didn’t get much playing time at Bolton & something similar will happen if he’s loaned again. We all agree that we need impact players off the bench- look no further than Ryo!!

its not like arsenal unless we have some “youth” am i right? Fabregas/walcott/wilshere all broke into first team around this time… i wouldn’t be surprised if he does.
Also, it is true that he can get exp out on loan, but i am always a firm believer that if you can stay and PLAY in arsenal, it would be many many times better than going on loan. Simply because arsenal plays at a higher level and young players will learn more.

I think he should start on the left wing, but he wont be given the chance next year unless I am wrong. Look at who we have to play on the left wing. Gervinho, not a natural winger, he started his career, with some success as a center forward, though he is pretty adept at the position and with a year of BPL under his belt he may surprise some people, although I’m not sure playing on the left is his best position. Podolski, also not a natural winger. Anyone who watched Germany play in the Euros should be a bit scared of Arsenal playing him as a left wing player. He has good instincts as a football player and as such I think it is important for him to be on the field, but I don’t think he will ever be able to play the left wing as well as someone with more pace and skills, and positional knowledge of the position. Arshavin, he is a central player as well, but Arsene never really used him in the middle. On his day he is still one of the most creative players in the world in my opinion, but he will be sold this summer so I wish him luck elsewhere. The Ox, another right sided or central player that is fast enough and technical enough to make it work on the left. He needs game time, but I feel like it needs to be on the other side of the field or behind the striker. I think Miyaichi would be the best left sided winger in Arsenal’s employ at this time.
As a side note, how dangerous would we be on the counter with a team that looks like this (not to mention just FAST in general):

Sagna Kos Verm Gibbs
Ox Song Arteta Ryo
Walcott Podolski(or RVP or Giroud)
Think of how we could terrify teams with the speed on the field. All 4 defenders have good speed, with Gibbs quite fast himself. Ryo, Ox, and Walcott all being among the faster players in the league, and Arteta and Song are both good with long balls over the top to sprinting runners. I still question that Walcott can play as a central striker, but we’ll never know if he isn’t given a chance.
Really this is just an experimental lineup. Some form of it would be good to use, but I don’t really know that any form of a 4-4-2 is plausible any more. My first choice lineup would include the same defense with the following midfield/forwards:
Song Arteta
Rosicky/Lansbury
Walcott RVP/Podolski Ryo/Gervinho
Rosicky should be the CAM when healthy unless we sign someone else. Lansbury I think deserves to get some time there as well. If Ox can handle the position he can moonlight there as well. Wilshere can be worked into a rotation with Arteta and Song when he gets fit again. If Walcott leaves, Ox is the natural replacement if he is ready to start. Gervinho can also play there if not. And I really think Miyaichi should be given a chance soon to marshal the left wing.

As long as we nurture Ryo correctly and he stays healthy by the time he’s 23-25 this kids gonna be a world beater. City and the like will be trying to steal him away but he’s gonna be an Arsensl man for a long long time!

Certainly, it is time for Ryo to be blooded at Emirates, especially if Walcott is on his way. With Gervinho, Miyiachi, Podolski, Giroud,Ox-Chamberlain and Chamakh available up front we`re not looking too bad. If RVP and Walcott stayed it would be quite formidable but I wouldn`t put book on it.

His ability to run the flanks and fire a ball high into the box is perfect for a player like Giroud a natural goal poacher who possesses freaky aerial ability. Would be exciting to watch.

he should go to qpr cause they have good strikers who can finish his assists and qpr only plays mackie in the left wing and ryo is way better than him so he can play there
but on the rw will be ji-sung park so that spot will be taken
if he goes to qpr he will atleast be credited for his assists cause the strikers of qpr can finish his assists

Arsenal fans sometimes make me laugh.Just one youtube video they all concluded that Ryo is better than Theo even when Theo was at his age.I guess you all have not forgotten when Theo came to Arsenal.Does Ryo has those goal possessing sense like Theo.He may possess all the qualities but lets give him time.Back then in 2006 Theo and Aliadiere were beast also………………….I DONT KNOW WHEN GOONERS FANS WILL COM TO THEIR SENSE.The same way we expose theo is the same way we wanna expose Ryo.Look at Wilshere now only God knows if his gonna comeback as fully fit as before then all fans will be like bench Wishere and play Serge Gnarby

I am a bit as a cross road, I feel Ryo should be loaned to a club where he would get more playing time, become more mature and a better finished product. at the same time I feel he is good enough to be brought into the main team as back up for Theo or the OX, we know what injuries have done to out title challenges over the years, but if he is loaned or brought into the team would depended on MR Wenger and what business he still does in the transfer market!!

He was awesome on loan at Feyenoord and awesome at Bolton too.
