Arsenal Planning Another French Raid
Arsenal have always had their fair share of French Internationals over the years, and they also have done a lot of business with French clubs too. Well the latest rumour to roll off the press is that they are planning a £22million raid on Frenchman Yoann Gourcuff who plays for Lyon.
Arsene Wenger needs a signing to appease the Arsenal fans and Gourcuff could be just the man. Gourcuff himself may welcome the chance to work with Wenger, and has been linked with him before now.
Gourcuff, 25, is a player that could slip into the hole left by Cesc Fabregas and is well known by a current Arsenal player. Marounne Chamakh was at Bordeaux with Gourcuff and has said recently that he would like to see his former team-mate join him at the Emirates.
Gourcuff is currently injured and missed his sides Champions League qualifier against Rubin Kazan, which when you look at it is actually good news because if he was to sign he would be eligible to play in the group stages for Arsenal.
There have been reports over the last 24 hours suggesting that Arsene Wenger may not make any signings over the next few days, and if that happens they will be even more unhappy faces at Arsenal than there are now, but we have to remain optimistic that one, two or even three deals will be done. Gourcuff could just be one of those three deals.

Good news if were to be true.
I think Gourcuff would be a great replacement for Fabregas. I have been tracking his progress for a couple of seasons now. He has a eye for goal and also a killer final ball. He is exactly what we are missing in the squad.
We missed out on him while he was still at Bordeaux. C’mon Arsene, don’t let him get away again! It would bring hope to Gunners worldwide.

park chu young on way to arsenal for medical! great player, seen him play for monaco against lille, he was awesome and played the arsenal way. heard he was suppose to be heading to lille for a medical but then didn’t turn up, bbc say hes been seen in london heading for arsenal med. nice one arsene

It’s good news only if Gourcuff wakes up…because he had an empty 2010/2011 season. He did not played well and is considered as one of the biggest flops in French L1 history… 22M is an expensive bet.

Didn’t lyon pay 22m for gourcuff last year? Why would lyon sell him for the same price even if he was injured last season. He is way too expensive, marvin martin is almost half the price and is a quality player.

Hazard wont be coming to arsenal for the simple reason that the lille chairman said if nasri is worth 22mil with 1 year left on his contract hazard has to be worth double that and unfortunatly arsenal wont pay that and if hazard impresses in the champions league this season his value will go sky high and city madrid and barca will be the only clubs that will afford him TBH i think that is why hazard said he wants to stay at lille this season because he is waiting for the big boys to come in. Gorcuff is pure quality and would be worth every penny has been linked in the past and would be great boost for arsenal.
Lets just hope we can try to push through a couple of these transfers before the window shuts.

I’d gladly welcome Gourcuff to the Emirates! True quality and the right age and experience. I’d rather him than kaka or whoever. Martin is my second choice. Hazard it seems is off the table as is any deal in the near future with Lille, lol. My ideal would be Bastian from Bayern but that will never happen.
We get definitely seems to be making his moves at the necessary time. Anyone know anything about this new striker? Come on and sign Cahill
