Arsenal ready to bid for wantaway Argentine midfielder
Arsenal’s manager Arsene Wenger has revived his interest in Anderlecht’s defensive midfielder Lucas Biglia, after the player declared that he wants to end his time at Anderlecht and try to move on with his career.
Biglia joined Anderlecht in 2006 and he managed 155 appearances for the club since then becoming a very important part of the team. In 2011 he also debuted for Argentina’s national team squad and impressed everybody, so he got another 5 appearances afterwards. The player wants to make a change and continue his career at a better club, and he will be looking for a transfer away fom the Belgian giants.
“I think I have ended my cycle at Anderlecht and I want to do something new,” Biglia told Het Nieuwsblad.
“The board know what I want to do. I know that playing for the Argentina national side means I get plenty of exposure and opens lots of doors.
“Sometimes I feel I have to do more because I am playing in Belgium. I am aware that it would be easier if I was playing in a different league.”
Arsenal’s need of top midfielders is well known after the problems Arsene Wenger had lately with injured midfielders, and with Fabregas’ and Nasri’s departures. They are expected to buy at least two midfielders in the January transfer season, a defensive and an offensive one, so this might be Biglia’s big chance.

we have diaby, song, frimpong, and coqiulen who all can play this role, its one of the few areas we dont actually have a problem! and ive been extremely impressed with what ive seen of coqiulen so far this season.
for once please invest money where its needed ie a striker of the pedigree of benzema, a creative midfielder like gorcuff or goetze, a genuine wideman like hazard and a defender like phil jones, smalling or ramos that can cover right across the back four!
im not that sure we need to spend big as i still believe in the players we have but for the love of god if your gonna spend DO IT PROPERLY ON PROPER PLAYERS or dont bother doing it at all!

Awful decision if this happens in January, can’t understand why we would even consider spending money on a central defensive midfielder when we have an excess of players who are more than capable of playing this role eg frimpong, song, coquelin and diaby and I love the way he says “Sometimes I feel I have to do more because I am playing in Belgium. I am aware that it would be easier if I was playing in a different league.”

I seriously hope for our sake we are not taking serious interest in this delusional and clearly lazy youngster who thinks playing elsewhere in europe will be an easier step down from playing with Anderlecht in belgium get real mate ! We need to look towards spending big money in positions where we are are desperately in need of reinforcing ! Signing a big established centre forward would be a step in the right direction and definitely a centre half such as the likes of gary cahill I would also like to see us sign someone like yann m’vila to play in the middle of midfield with mikel arteta for the time being until jack wilshere is back from injury

@toby,totally agreed.we have enough of defensive midfielders.if wenger was to invest in the squad like you said,then arsenal will have a 99.99999999% chance of winning major trophies and be on par with the best in the world.but as we know,wat u said will not happen in d near future but maybe in d distant one…..

i just want people who havent seen certain things about denilson to see it.ignore the comments in the video.also please note that denilson was played as a cdm.let me know wat do u think will happen if hes given more freedom on the pitch.certainly all players cant shoot like him,and he hasnt shown disrespect like nasri…..just a thought!!

depending on the price this could be a great acquisition. Remember Diaby hardly plays a full season. It’s hard to take but I think Arsenal should get rid of these injury prone players and yes that includes Vermaelen if he doesn’t improve his fitness level.

None of Hazard, Mvila, Cahil, Bigilia, Gotze or Vertonghen is coming to Arsenal. The best we can hope for is Denilson back from Brazil and a contract extension for Rosicky. That’s all we deserve
