Clichy wanted by Madrid?
Sunday wouldn’t be Sunday unless the papers had a rumour about an Arsenal player, and they haven’t let us down today!
The News of the World reckons that Real Madrid are going to make a £16m bid for Gael Clichy next summer, and that Arsene Wenger will consider selling him to balance the books!
Clichy signed a four year contract last year and has played in just about every game since, but they think that Wenger will sell him to let Kieran Gibbs get his chance in the team.
It seems that Real are having problems with their defence as the ex-Liverpool defender Alvaro Arbeloa is injured, and they don’t think that Drenthe or Marcelo are good enough to replace him, so want to make a big-money bid for Clichy, maybe this January.
Clichy is quoted as saying when tackled about a possible move – “At the moment, I am focused on Arsenal and France.
“This season could be very important to me and I desire to be focused in my work. The summer of 2010 is still very far away.”
Does anyone think that Wenger will really sell Clichy?

I think he should be sold but not to Real Madrid. I want him sold to Arsenal and only the Arsenal that is managed by a man by the name Arsene.
