Arsenal rumours July 8th – Schwarzer, Mesut Ozil, Wright-Phillips, Asamoah and Benzema
It is great news that Wenger has finally got Laurent Koscielny on board, although it is my opinion that he was probably forced to pay more than his original valuation considering his experience.
But other than that there are still lots of Arsenal transfer rumours about, and the main one seems to be the imminent arrival of Mark Schwarzer from Fulham. The whispers are saying that the Aussie Number One failed his first medical because of a dodgy knee, but the second medical said that it wouldn’t affect his performance in goal.
Again, £4m for a 37 year-old with a knackered knee seems to be a lot higher than one would expect to pay. I am thinking that this is a desperate time for Arsene Wenger.
In an interview published yesterday in Kenya, Wenger said that we should expect a goalkeeping announcement very soon, so it looks like Schwarzer will be announced any day now. At least things are now starting to happen, and it is certain that Arsenal still need at least one defender and one defensive midfielder to continue the revolution, (and maybe more if the ‘unmentionable’ happens).
During the above interview, Wenger also said that the two players that impressed him the most in South Africa were Mesut Ozil and Giovanni Dos Santos (!). It certainly looks like Ozil will be moving this summer as he enters the last year of his contract, but if ******* leaves, I am growing certain that Werder Bremen will be given an offer they can’t refuse. The only thing that worries me is that Ozil himself said that he wanted to move to a club that wins trophies……
A strong young midfielder that is being strongly linked at the moment is the Ghanaian Kwadmo Asamoah. He is an exciting young talent, but still has three years on his contract at Udinese. He has already expressed his desire to move to the Emirates, and would be the perfect replacement for Denilson (or cover for Song). I am beginning to hope that this one is true. He is young enough to be a typical Wenger signing….
Shaun Wright-Phillips has been linked for a while now, and today the Sun reckons that Arsenal will face competition from Tottenham and Liverpool for his signature if he is allowed to leave for the reported (cut-price!) £6m. It seems certain he will be leaving Man City, but I doubt that Wenger is really in the market for a winger at the moment..
Todays most ridiculous rumour is awarded to Caughtoffside as usual. They say that Wenger will bid £22m to take the Real Madrid reject Karim Benzema to the Emirates. Considering the surfeit of strikers at Arsenal at the moment, there would need to be a few sales before I can see that happening. I always assumed he would end up at Man Utd one day, and that is the most likely scenario…

i really dont think that Wenger will buy someone as big as benzema and the VERY good midfeilder Asamoah would do amazing at the Emirates and i think if he plays regurally he could be one of the best defence midfeilders in the Premiership. And to be honest id rather see Joe Hart come to Arsenal rather than the boy hes trying to get and hart is only around 23 i think and Schwarar is 37! and i thin kthey should buy richards from Man City for around 8 million as he can play anywere in defence and he seems to be very good for his age!

hey i am kenyan n i was in the brief meeting that arsen wenger attended in kenya n i can conferm that he assured the fans about a possible fast move for a golkipper. he was also asked about kenyas “MACDONALD MARIGA” the INTERMILAN playmeker but he was nun commital about it thou he expresed his like for the kenyan
i think we should sign antony annan of ghana because he is good for the midfield vorsah for defence, prince boateng an attacking midfielder,goalkeeper Arholu all of Ghana
Asamoah is currently rated very close to michael essien of chelsea and ahead of yaya toure,muntari and mikel in africa. Just 21 this chap will be the next thing in africa as stated by george weah,abedi pele and udinese coach he will be a perfect signing of arsenal this season should it goes through.

even if it cann’t be possible winger should try to buy Asamoah and Mesut Ozil and Mensaka the Germain player for our defense if not we be in trouble when we start experiencing injuries when the playing gets tough and we should try to maintain cesc fabregas at all cost.
Goal keeping is not an issue right now i think almunia,and our young Italian mannone are good, Mannone prove to us last season that he can replace almunia when he is not there but not fabianski.a

finally four and that is what a wicked first team kit we got this year best we’ve had in years,(though would of liked red socks)and they yellow away git is deffinatley growing on me,(though why we keep getting this pink colour and told it burgundy i don’t know navy blue would been better like the 71 away kit)any can’t wait to buy thje shirts up the arsenal ,can’t wait for new season getting bored now lol

i really don’t think buying the entire ghana team would be the right move. song is good enough at defensive midfield we just need defenders so that he can actualy play there rather than having to cover in defence. also, if scezyny is so good why dont we just start playing him in goal?. ozil would be great for a couple seasons before he leaves for more money

You can always get a good wee giggle out of caught offside..It has to be Hart or Neuer. On another site it said that if Grosso doesnt leave juve Sagna will be involved in a swap deal. If so Micah Richards and Van De Weil
I think wenger would not buy hart because he already have a lot of good young goal keeper so he rather gets a goal keeper that will play and give way for his young keeper rather than eliminating the progress of his young keepers by signing 23yrs hart
EVERYONE scharzer did not fail the medical, nothing is wrong at all with his knee it was made up to make him sound oldd. hes an excellent keeper youll see when he comess!!
Ozil Santos, Swazer, and Asamoah are all possibilities but Benzema, Haba, Anyone who thinks Wenger will spend such money is Day dreaming or Hallucinating. He should rather sign Joe cole than lokking that way. Well it’s just a rumour and I’m sure it’s a very big falasy
