Arsenal scouting two Italian midfielders
According to the Bari sporting director Giorgio Perinetti, Arsenal have been sending scouts to watch their two young central defence partnership of Andrea Ranocchia and Leonardo Bonucci.
Bari have got the best defensive record in Serie A so far this season, conceding just four goals in seven games, and the two youngsters have been instrumental in gaining that record.
Perinetti said: “When we played against Milan, there were a couple of emissaries from Arsenal, who came to take a look at our central defenders, Bonucci and Ranocchia.”
“I guess they did not waste their trip, as the two boys are fine players.”
Ranocchia has made 8 appearances for the Italy U21 squad and has made 23 appearances for Bari since joining on a loan period from Genoa, while Bonucci was acquired by Genoa from Inter Milan this summer as part of the deal that saw Thiago Motta go the other way, and Genoa immediately sent him to Bari to join Ranocchia.

Central defenders. Not midfielders.
