Arsenal scouts watching Argentinian striker – called Suarez!
It is being reported this morning that the Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is looking for his very own Suarez, but not the controversial one playing for Liverpool!
The Express says that Arsenal scouts were at the Anderlecht v Lokomotiv Moscow match in the Europa League last night for a look at the 23 year-old Argentinian striker Matias Suarez who plays for the Belgian giants.
Suarez got on the scoresheet as Anderlecht won 5-3 to ensure that they ended up winners of Group L, and the hitman has gradually improved in his four years in Belgium. After scoring 10 goals last season, Suarez has already hit 12 goals in 25 games this time around and is stronger and fitter and may be ready to move on to a stronger League.
Wenger has already admitted that he will buy a new striker if an “opportunity” comes along at a good price, perhaps he may have uncovered another gem over in Belgium?

Sounds like a typical Wenger buy, but his stats for the year so far look good. Playing in the Belgium League is a big step to the EPL though. I guess Wenger knows what he’s doing. I’d prefer Wenger to buy someone in good form from another league than someone with bad form and alien to the EPL.
If we can get a quality signing like this on the cheap, than why not? Podolski is inconsistent and out of form. Most fans only want him because he’s a known name. We need someone who is on the rise and hungry not another big name that can’t cut it on the big stage.

he’s great plus he’s an Argentine so he will bring a different dimension to our beautiful style of football coz they(Argentinians)are very good on the ball. Barca has MESSI,Real-DIMARIA now ours will be SUAREZ.Hope this one goes through and will be left with GOETZE to think about in the summer.Just love these scouts they surely do a marvelous job don’t they?

didnt i say wenger will be watching some unknown player few weeks back ? Dont be surprised if he or some low profile player is signed.but the sad thing is,the media will put the player in spotlight attracting other clubs…

pls guys are you not tired of all these speculations ? Arsenal linked to several players that never come to happen, is sad we are linked to almost every player in the world still our squad is incomplete and full of averages.

Podolski would be a fantastic buy, a very reliable and hard working german with a clear hunger for goal. The idea of Benzema how ever unlikely to happen it is, coming to the emirates is an exciting prospect, no doubt him and Arsene would bond but we desperately need a fullback and Taiwo would don it.

Not surprising that Arsene is linked with suarez, he is a talented striker who had a hard time when he first arrived in Belgium but has begun to flourish of late. We must always trust our scouts and the scouting system, they must have seen the qualities that a player must have to play for us.
Judging,on his comment about shopping at lesser clubs, I was wondering if he was referring to guys like odemwingie and rodellaga. We have been linked with them in the past, don’t get me wrong I would prefer even better strikers, but if the manager thinks they are right for the club then who am I to question the discoverer and maker of Kolo, Viera, Henry,sylvinho,Edu,Sceszny,Koscielny jus to name a few.

You have to consider Podolski’s price for the amount of goals you expect him to score. Is he worth that much? At 20M, breaking Arsenal’s record…….No not really. I reckon Park has more potential pound for pound and we got him for 3-5M. Go figure

I think its great that AW is always looking for up and coming talent. not heard much about this guy but AW doesnt normally sign a player unless he is sure of the quality! So i have no problems with this potential signing just as long as it doesnt effect our transfer budget when we try to bring in one or two top class players (which we do need). although we do have quality all round the pitch we are still too reliant on RVP. we definitely need back-up and not someone who will just warm the bench! we should be looking for a quality striker who will score us goals! personally i think the players form isnt that important as AW can get the best out of most players. so i hate to say it but someone like Torres would be perfect. he’s quick, strong, good in the air and a clinical finisher. form is temporary, class is permanent!

he looked good when they played against Lokomotiv but have seen him play better in the Belgian league maybe against weaker opponents than the Russian side but i think this would be a great signing he is technically gifted on the ball (unlike chamakh) and can score goals with both feet and his head (unlike chamakh who scores mainly with his head and can’t really dribble that well)……just hope the vultures don’t swarm in to pick off another arsenal target at an inflated price……buy him and vertonghen in January and hopefully gotze in the summer and we will be well on our way!!!!!

I have just checked this guy out on youtube and he looks like he has a good right foot with plenty of skill and very comfortable on the ball as well as only being 23 looks a great prospect.

I AM ARGENTINE , SUAREZ PLAYED FOR MY TEAM , BELGRANO OF CORDOBA. HE IS REALLY A CRACK, GOOD PERSON AND GOOD PLAYER, HE HAVE A REALLY GOOD SKILL AND QUALITY SHOOT. HE REALLY COULD PLAY FOR ARGENTINA NATIONAL TEAM, BUT HE IS UNKNOWN BECAUSE HE WENT WHEN HE WAS YOUNG AND WE WAS IN SECOND DIVISION.

I am from Córdoba, Argentina, where suárez is from… I can tell you, although suárez team is not a giant (belgrano de cordoba, the one that defeated River Plate this seasson and send them to second division), I´ve never seen a crack like him in Belgrano. He was simply amazing. Hope he goes to Arsenal…
