It has been revealed tonight that Arsenal have poached yet another young Spanish international, but this time it is not from their arch-rivals Barcelona, but from Real Madrid.
The 16 year-old midfielder Jose Rodriguez impressed scouts from all over Europe at the Under-17s World Championships, but Arsenal’s Spanish scout Francis Cagigao has persuaded the youngster to join the Arsenal Academy to further his career.
The Mirror reports that discussions are advanced between the Gunners and Real Madrid over compensation for the training costs, and Rodriguez is set to sign a five year contract with Arsenal when he turns 17.
Here is a video of Rodriguez in action at the World Championships against Barcelona. Enjoy!

5 years later…
My family all support Real Madrid and I would like to play for them one day. When I was growing up, Raul was my hero. But for now, my focus is to help Arsenal win the championship.

we dnt need anymore unproven talent we have that here already. If we spent half the amount of time and effort we spend on pursuing these kids on proven talent we would be champions. Instead we just buy them it takes 3-4 years for them to mature into good players while we stilld ont win anything and they get fed up and leave because they have Barca or Real DNA. We need to win something soon or the player turnover is gnna increase. BUY A STAR NT A STARLET!!!!!!!

I guess I can start looking forward to 2015 when when arsenal will get back to winning the EPL and not focusing on producing profit for the greed-driven board. Please sign some experienced footballers in January.

I hope he will comited to Arsenal rest of his life. He is controling central midfielder but surprisingly he is fast and he is good to stick to the ball. He can defend as a real r/l back defence those kind of players we needed sense departure of Veira, Pires and Fab. Imagine mid line will be Wilhere–Song–Rodriguez these players can neutralize opponent attacks and can create contra attacks. So that Arsenal I know will be return.
