Arsenal target Barcelona defender
According to the Spanish daily Sport, Arsenal have made an approach to Pep Guardiola regarding their Ukrainian center-back Dmytro Chyhrynskyi.
The 23 year-old only made 12 appearances for the Spanish giants last season, but with Wenger desperate to sign some defenders he is hoping that Chyhrynskyi will be very keen to move to a club that will give him the promise of a regular starting spot.
The Sport is under the impression that Wenger has turned his attention to the Ukranian after failing to persuade Yaya Toure to move to the Emirates, as Kolo’s brother is angling for a move to the Double winners Chelsea.
Chyhrynskyi is a 6ft 3in Ukranian international that was bought from Shakhtar Donetsk last summer after impressing Pep Guardiola when Shakhtar played Barca in the Champions League Group stages. Shakhtar finally finished third but went on to win the EUFA Cup after switching competitions.
I have found out that Barca paid around £22m for Chyhrynskyi, so I doubt very much that Guardiola will let him go cheaply. Sport thinks it is more likely that he will allow him to go on loan for a year with a top side for him to gain some more experience rather than sell him outright.

I’m not too sure if this story has any truth to it.
Pep does like the guy but he has been quite poor.
On the bad side
He is very slow and can’t imagine him adjusting to the prem pace because he found la liga too fast and that’s miles/hr slower than the prem.
He has confidence problem and tries to show confidence by doing over elaborate things
He did a 1-2 with the goal keeper on his debut inside the 18 yard box while under pressure… no one found it funny
On the plus side
He is very good in the air; he and Vermealen would reduce the aerial threat against us.
He can pass the ball…and I mean through pass from the CB position.
He plays this too cool for skool game. Not as rugged as he looks but can get in some hard challenges.
The pace though is still a worry but if John Terry can Manage then why not Chygsy

THE ONLY CHANCE THAT THIS GUY WILL COME TO ARSENAL FOR THAT KIND OF MONEY IS IF HE IS CHUCKED IN WITH THE FABREGAS DEAL. WENGER WON’T PAY THAT MUCH FOR AN UNPROVEN, 23 YEAR OLD DEFENDER, WHEN HE CAN FIND SOMEONE EQUALLY AS UNKNOWN AND UNPROVEN FOR for 10mil.

Why Chygrinski, a 23year old unproven defender?

Because Arsene knows that he’s got to let Cesc go and that Barcelona simply don’t have enough cash to pay his value. The speculation is that Arsene is looking for a “Okay, Cesc for 30M and Player X”-style arrangement. If I understand correctly, this is what brought Ibrahimovic to Barcelona last year (money plus Eto’o).
I haven’t seen Chyhrynskiy play, but if he’s a defender worth 20M, it might be a worthwhile swap. The 30M could buy Gourcuff (if he’s available), and we’ve have three new starting XI players (including Chamakh) without touching the transfer kitty.
It’ll be a blast if he starts alongside Szczesny.
Why is this man turning to another barcelona player that is yet to be established after maybe 5years they’ll come back and start knocking at our door that he’s got barca DNA.can’t he learn from the issue of fabregas going on.

these transfers rumours had my head spining.no real singing so far.not to mention that wenger had insisted at least one or two singing before the world cup.
but its true dat arsenal needs a tall and strong central back who can create a perfect partnership alongside wid da verminator.
i think arsenal do need a tough tackeller like phillipe melo or toure’ YaYa
joe cole can also be useful in arsenal attack if cesc departures.
