Arsenal target Blackburn defender, according to Sky Sports
There is an Arsenal transfer rumour that has appeared on Sky today saying that Arsene Wenger is considering making a bid for their centre-back Scott Dann, and it says that Blackburn are willing to listen to big money offers for the ex-Birmingham defender.
A quote from Sky’s article says: Arsenal are also thought to be monitoring developments due to the injury crisis at Emirates Stadium and Arsene Wenger may decide to recruit reinforcements.
The Frenchman had doubts about Dann at the start of the season after a long lay-off but he has played regularly this season for Rovers.
Dann only joined Blackburn in the summer after being linked with Arsenal (amongst others) and his back-line partner Christopher Samba was also seriously associated with a move to the Emirates, but as Rovers had already sold Phil Jones to Man United they refused to lose Samba as well.
Even if we forget that Wenger has already categorically stated that he will NOT be buying any more centre-backs, why should he make an attempt to buy either Dann or Samba after forgoing the chance to make a bid in the summer when both of them would have been cheaper?
Normally readers respect information from Sky Sports, especially when they say they “understand” a move is in the offing, but in my opinion this is one of the most unlikely Arsenal rumours I have heard this month, only just close behind the one about Kieran Richardson!

Our defence is very good,so we don’t need defenders.Our problem is inability to kill the game;world class striker{Tevez,Huntelaar} or world class CAM{Sneijder,Kaka} will solve the problem.

Dann wouldnt improve the team .. If we bought this guy he would be 3rd choice at best .. We need a left back ! Gibbs is like a china bowl- fragile ! Cissoko I would go for and some world class quality in midfield .. Wenger has still not replaced fabregas.. Need that cutting edge in midfield .. Also please sell chamack ! Fully agree wit ya. I expect AW to sign no defender and at the beginning of Feb start talking about having a wad of money but not being able to find any players.
We is a joke. One massive joke especially when you look at the existing roster and see the likes of Djourou, Chamcrap and Squillaci all on good money for nothing!
Since the signing of Reyes 8 years ago, we have not really done any good business in January window. (Arshavin inv).

Buy Samba, sell Djourou and Squilaci. Better still offer Blackburn Djourou plus some money for Samba.
I think Wenger should purchase Samba, Gotze & Demba Ba. It we be amazing if we got those 3 players and would probably cost about 48 mill. If we sold Arshavin 8m, Squilaci 2m, Fabianski 2m,, Djourou 4m, Bendtner 6m & Chamakh 6m….. That’s 28mill so we’d only need to put in 20mill out of our existing kitty for Samba, Ba & Gotze.
