Arsenal target Spanish international midfielder to replace Cesc
It is being reported today that Arsene Wenger has pinpointed the Spanish international midfielder Santi Cazorla as backup in case Barcelona finally stump up the cash for Cesc Fabregas.
Arsenal fans are likely to be more than happy if Cazorla moves to the Emirates in place of Fabregas as he is an extremely talented and versatile performer and could be just as influential as the Gunners captain in the future.
The 26 year-old currently plays for Villarreal in La Liga and is a regular in the Spain national team and won the Euro2008 Tournament with them. He missed the World Cup win whilst recovering from a hernia operation but returned to the side in a friendly game against the USA and scored twice to signal his return to the squad.
Reports in Spain say that the newly-rich Malaga side have made a £20m offer for the midfielder, who has scored 13 goals in just 34 appearances for his country, but Wenger is hoping that the promise of Champions League Football and the chance to play in the Premiership will persuade Cazorla to choose Arsenal.

Well,some time i think it is better for to loose then eyes open.
What i mean is that Wenger should stop blocking Fab from leaving Emirates, i mean there are great players out there and i believe the excitement of having new players alone is some times the source of seriousness.
If u tried to watch all our games like i did, u find that Fab has become the player that every one looks at when he is in the pitch, i mean the players, the opponents and even some supporters. Also every player who gets the ball will want to pass it to Fab, and this has destroyed Arsenal, as most times he is over marked and hence we always lost the ball to the opponents, yet again if u gave Walcott or Nasri a free role in the Pitch without Fab, u c a great change as whoever gets the ball gives any body a chance to break through the defense, give apass, or even try a shot, whereas if Fab was available, these guys would still try to look for him to give a nice pass for the goal to be created. So i think we should all try to do what he has been doing to create more chances ahead for goals, coz in the end all we need is a win, not the smart passes from one individual, coz this means that if he is not there, then there is no win?, no we need TROPHIES THIS TIME, we are tired of being called NEXT SEASON.

Mr. Wenger should stop depending on one player all the time. I mean the moment that player gets an injury or he gets red carded, that marks the end of wining, look at last season when we lost VP to injuries, there was no flow of goals completely.

We dont need anymore midfield players. Today Wilshire and Ramsey were class with Gervinho and Walcott (with a free role) we had a lot of good movement. It faded in the second half when they were taken off. I am confident we will be ok this year without Fabregas and even Nasri who in my opinion delays the pass and holds the ball too long.
Van Persie and Gervinho want it forward quickly. The defence is just as bad.

He can play with some good movement, but his fitness can be questionable. Look at most of the lads from AFC and then look at him… It’s that obvious, his physique is no better compared to Cesc, but seemingly worser. So it’s not a direct replacement. It will take him few seasons to adapt to the EPL. Mata seems like a better choice if Fab is indeed heading out by next weekend.

Fabregas is well enough to settle the midfield,no replacement stories for him. if a must to sign a new midfielder it is good but Fabregas should remain the first choice.Salary and trophies are the problems in Arsenal club Wenger must add salaries to some players apart from Diaby, Eboue, Chamakh.

Lots reports suggesting possible replacements for Fab if he goes. Implying we would buy more artillery if Fab stays – this big mistake…
Even if Fab stays – we need to buy, it would then give us a year to train up the guy get him enrolled in the Arsenal way etc. To my mind this is a more evolved strategy, rather than simply finding short term fire-fighting solutions when a problem arises.
Any good business has a short, Mid, and long term plan – Arsenal has had a long term plan, but they need to give some attention to the short/mid term plan too – over the next 2-3 years.
So here is my shopping list-
> A central defender to complement Vermaelen incase of injury
> Taller more muscular Midfielder to complement Ramsey / Jack in midfield – short/long term replacement for Cesc
> A left back to challenge / support Gibbs – pref more attacking to give us more options
> Holding midfielder to support Song (think we really struggle when his injured)
> Striker to replace Bentner
And 1 more thing-
I know its sensible to hold out until last minute to get best deal, like a big game of bluff – but a couple of big signings even not at optimum price point – would probably go a MASSIVE way to keeping players like Nasri to stay – surely therefore it would be make massive financial sense to get these transactions now

Like I will always say, the problem with arsenal for the past three to four seasons now had being with the “DEFENCE LINE AND GOAL KEEPER”. What we just need are two new good defenders like Cahill and any other good one coming to join forces with Vermaelen and others already there and one world class Goal Keeper, then our problem will be solved this season and we must see the trophies come.
Please, Wenger just sign two good defenders and Keeper(s) for us. We must be fully prepared for all competitions this season, with healthy and fully fitted and injury free players.

Wenger should compel Nasri to extend his contract for some three to five years in order to assure him of his future in the club. But if Nasri refuse then he should be off loaded with Fabregas immediately, so to create room for new players to come in and blend with the old ones so as to start the season very well.

Even as most of us blame Arsene Wenger for Arsenal’s woe all the time, I would still want to blame all the players for not putting in their best psychologically in most games, more especially the so-called weak teams, they will always gamble and allow them score before getting serious. If we must win then this attitude to the game must stop. How can a team of the calibre of arsenal be winning a team 4-0 and in the second half allow all four goals to be cancelled? You can’t try that with the other bigger teams in the premiership.
The entire team should change their mentality. They should build that winning mentality and not just gambling with the ball on the pitch. I believe that’s the reason we always record the highest number of injuries than other teams.
