Arsenal target will not be sold say Athletico Madrid
There were reports last week that an agreement had been reached between Arsenal and the Turkish international Arda Turan for his transfer to the Emirates from Athletico Madrid. The 25-year old left winger had said some things to the Turkish media that now seem to have been a bit premature.
Chelsea and Liverpool are also keen on Turan, so even if Athletico do agree to sell him, he will not necessarily be heading to North London as a Gunner. The reports that Chelsea had activated his release clause of around €24 million also seem to be wrong, because the manager of the Spanish club, Diego Simeone, has stated that he has heard nothing.
“First, I have not heard anything and I have seen it a lot. Everyone can comment on whatever you want.
“The important thing is what he shows on the field. Arda is one of the best players. He shows heart in every one of our matches.
“He has a contract with our club, and he shows everyone what he has to offer.”
His agent has stated that Turan wants to join a top European club with champions league ambitions, but it seems that Athletico will only sell if somebody activates the clause. He is a very skilful left sided player, in the mould of Samir Nasri, but I have my doubts that Arsenal will sanction the deal, even though it would be around £5 million less than we got from Man City for the Frenchman.

Need to sell:
chamack,squillaci,djorou,santos,gerinho,park,bendtner,denilson
Get back : wellington silva (huuuugh potential, and miyachi after the season)
promote and BUY : aneke,frimpong,eisfield,gnarby, SHAW,ISCO,M’VILA, ZAHA
And Keep our best players and when our talents becomes worldclass becuase they propably will with their talent, we should not sell them like we did with (song,fabregas,nasri,hleb,vp, etc…)
And if we do this we could have our ARSENAL back next season and after 2-3 year one of the best team. I hope that the board and wenger thinks the same….

One by one the exitement of the transfer Window drifts away and fear sets in. Arsene is full of promises but never keep’s his word. Remember how he told us last summer that he will make one or two more signings after signing santi and Poldi? Any report of denial is PURE speculation!

The will be no signings unless Wenger moves other players on first, this is because we don’t have any wage allocation left from our stingy structure even thought there is transfer funds available. Let’s hope Squilaci,Djourou, Chamack and Arshavin go and early on too the we might be able to sign two or three if we are really lucky

This really pisses me off. Wenger keep holding out on offers made for deadwood, while deadwood are hanging on for dear life, because they need to collect their cheques evey month, otherwise they would lose out. And Wenger loses out for selling them cheaper. In the mean time the downward spiral continues. You see these deadwood players know that if they are sold, they will not earn the same wages. So what do they do? Hang around do nothing and still get a full salary.

Rarely come on here for an Arsenal bashing as I feel we’ve a good first team on paper but there needs to be more competition for places. We also lack real width and the ability to cross for the likes of Giroud etc. Teams are well capable of parking the bus against us and previously possession football meant tiring them out, resulting in us having the highest scoring recording in the last 10 mins. That I no-longer the case as fitness levels across Pl are so much better – Wemger is not the only one on to Lucozade and 5 a day thanks to govt Ads! Don’t feel we need drastic changes just the ability to rest Cazorla occasionally and get in to the habit of winning. We shouldn’t just be hung up on winning trophies , most people forget our last trophy was a cup game against Man U in 2005 and they murdered us for 90 mins and we fluked pens! Get behind the boys oh and buy a couple of decent back ups – love transfer zone !!

People just need to chill abit.
We are only 3 days into the transfer window for f@+*s sake!
As someone has already said, we have no wage allocation left until people leave, that’s the reason for the delay.
Its not upto wenger to nove players on, the club can agree on a fee, but if the player doesn’t wanna leave, he aint going nowhere, and arsene didn’t put those mediocre players on the high wages, the board did, wenger has repeatedly said, during press conferences and speeches, that he doesn’t have any input on contracts.
Also, all those players saying, Arshavin is great, shouldn’t be sold etc… Aren’t they the same people that were slating wenger for playing him last year, when he was dreadful!
Wish some fellow arsenal fans weren’t so fickle, and deluded by playing fifa.
I’ve been to 9 games so far this season, just bought my ticket for the city and liverpool games, and will sing and support the team as best I can, and anyone who is just gonna cry, complain and bash the team can go support another london club.
Just wish ticket prices weren’t so high

The main problem with arsenal at the moment is we do not have a player the fans and players can look to when we need it most. In the last 10 years we have had bergkamp Henry fabregas and Rvp to look to when we needed something from a game. We also have no leader on the pitch who can inspire players to perform. For that reason we must buy world class players not Adrian Lopez or huntelaar who we were previously linked with. We need players like falcao and cavani so we have someone to depend on in every game that they will make something happen for the team. Ps kroenke leave you American dog

@Rob actually your wrong, the wage structure is wengers idea and part of wengers pholosophy as he belives that there shouldnt be a big gap in individual player wages, this i why our wage bill is soo high yet we cant offer contracts over 100k because we pay youngsters(ox) and trash(squid) almost as much as we pay our stars (carzola). This is why we cant get rid of trash like chamak, denilson, squid and we cant hang onto players like nasri, rvp, clichy. I like wenger but his wage structure is just crazy.

The problem with the club is that it’s run a communist type way. Every body is paid equally regardless of effort or contribution. Then the board control everything and don’t listen to fans’ opinions or suggestions.
Now I would hate to be a club like Man City. I hate what they are doing to the game, but at the same time an investment is needed if we want to challenge. The board owe us some quality additions and now is the time to deliver them.

What about Arteta plus cash for Turan? , as the Spaniard is not an established holding midfielder( which what Arsnal need) nor he is a creative midfielder . It is said that Arteta has a high percentage of accurate passing, which is true only because he mostly passes the ball backward , with a rare through ball Fabrigas like passes. Even if it is not Turan , Arsenal need a Diaby like player but not as ( Fragile). The Gunners problems probably lies in midfield as they do not create enough chances nor they can play pressing football except may be Wilshire and Chamberlin(if played in his more natural position in the middle ) because of the ineffective Arteta and the ever advancing defenders.
