Arsenal team news for vital FA cup game vs. Swansea
Latest Team News – Arsenal VS Swansea Match Preview by AH
Arsenal will face Swansea City at the Emirates tomorrow for a FA Cup reply game after neither team managed to progress to the next round after 90 minutes at the Liberty Stadium 2 weeks ago.
Arsenal will once again find the Welsh opponents tough and this will be our 3rd meeting of the season, with Swansea beating us 2-0 in December before the 2-2 draw in this FA Cup competition 2 weeks back. I’d expect for both teams to put out strong starting lineups for this game, however Arsenal more so because realistically this is our last chance of winning a trophy this season. Wenger said we can still contend for the title this year but I think we all know we can write our chances off now, whilst the Champions League is never easy, so in reality this is our final chance of gaining a trophy this season.
Ahead of the game Wenger has given some team news;
“We have Koscielny suspended for tomorrow night and everybody else will be available. He will be replaced in the squad by Arshavin.”
“Arteta’s injury could be shorter than three weeks because it’s a minor calf strain. It’s a light grade one so it could be quicker than three weeks.”
“Rosicky is still out. He has a little calf problem. I wanted to involve him tomorrow night but it’s too short.”
And then finally the man who sems to have been missing for an eternity Lukasz Fabianski, who by the sounds of it seems to be staying with Arsenal until his contract ends in the summer.
“He’s the only one injured, along with Arteta now. He’s one more week away from full training I think”
I would like to think Wenger will put out a strong side, however due to fatigue and the Chelsea clash this weekend some key players will most likely be missing. I’d expect the starting lineup to be;
Szczesny
Jenkinson Mertesacker Vermaelen Santos
Diaby Coquelin
Ramsey
Arshavin Giroud Chamberlain
So not the strongest team going and if Swansea put out their normal starting XI then i wouldn’t expect too much but hopefully Wenger will know the importance of the game and the players will be up for it, in the end it is a chance of a trophy and surely that what they desperately want right now.
its prudent to play coquelin and rest 2-3 key players….let Gnabry Eifeld and Coquelin play

Perhaps a little Russian passion is what the doctor ordered. I think Arshavin could reignite the team with his sudden bursts of energy. Still I’m starting to get a lil frustrated by this whole Walcott thing. A bit too much emphasis is being placed on Walcott signing. At this rate Wenger certainly wouldn’t look twice at an almost certain opportunity to sign another quality player or any player for that matter. It’s because of this extreme focus on Walcott’s contract that other teams keep beating us to the punch. Not to mention they’re beating us on the field too. I tire of all this. What a challenge it is to be a Gooner. I do say that Gooners are the strongest fans out there to be standing through all of this. But our hearts are strong and I know that I’ll be a Gooner for life.

Give Coquelin a run! Either as a starter or sub for Diaby
Also if he’s gonna use Ramsey using him as a sub and in the middle. He played well linking with Wilshere against City
Arshavin should also be used to take the load off Cazorla

If we do loose Wenger would come out and say,
1. We were too tired.
2. We lacked quality.
3. We weren’t lucky enough.
4. We are still a good squad who can do wonders.
5. We will still sign Theo and then maybe see some other signings but for now we were just OUTPLAYED!!!
I have seen lots of my gunner mates here stating sooo many reasonable buys for Arsenal but Wenger seems to be blind.

As much as Id like to say we will win Tommoro bit with that squad I doubt it!
A footballer gets a wage most of us get in 1,2,3,4 or even 5yrs in just ONE week.
So the fact that the fully fit players of our starting XI can’t play 2 (180mins) games of football in 5days is ridiculous after all they train everyday working on fitness, look at barca they seem to have there starting XI every game maybe because there players are actually care and are passionate to succeed, win and drain themselves dry for there club to win any game on any day in any circumstances.
The modern day English teams lack Passion compared with the rest of Europe.
ESPECIALLY ARSENAL..
but its the fans in england that have more passion for their club not the people that’s on the Receiving end of the of such passionate and financial support.

Regardless of anything you should always want this club to win.
I’m fairly Confident we’ll sign someone soon aswell but Wengers a one of a kind. doesn’t listen to others, reminds me of a little kid the way he’ll acts. Purposely long transfers out to find someone unknown with potential just to say he discoverd n nurtured him blah blah then sell them! Haha.

Swansea are not facing Chelsea this weekend so they can be confident. On the other hand Arsenal will have to play the slowest central defender in the league and employ a Welsh defector. My money is on Swansea, Arsenal are there for the taking and Swansea know it.

I think Wenger is going to play basically the same line up from the weekend with maybe 1 or 2 changes. It’s clear that Wenger has no confidence in our roster depth whatsoever because he has been overworking all of our starters and playing them at every opportunity. It’s just frustrating that he has yet to do anything about it.
