Arsenal to make three signings this week
There is a report in this mornings Telegraph that seems to be certain that Arsenal will finalise the deal for Alex Oxlade Chamberlain from Southampton this week. The two clubs have apparently agreed on a price of £12m (£7m in cash plus £5m in add-ons) and personal terms will be discussed with the youngster this week.
They then go on to say that the Costa Rican sensation Joel Campbell will swiftly follow at the end of the U20 World Cup in Colombia. The price wll be just under £1m and again this deal will be confirmed this week after the Gunners offered Campbell improved personal terms.
So that is two more “for the future” signings sorted, but all Arsenal fans are still desperately waiting for big, experienced centre-back which has been needed for the last few years, especially after seeing Thomas Vermaelen get an injury scare again this weeekend.
The Telegraph reckons that although Jagielka is still Wenger’s preferred option, he will have no choice but to go back to talks with Gary Cahill and Christopher Samba. The need for another centre-back was also highlighted by the new injury to Kieran Gibbs, which will keep him out of Arsenal’s opening game at Newcastle.
They expect Vermaelen to be moved to left-back if Wenger doesn’t want to risk Armand Traore straight away, but judging by comments on Just Arsenal, they will be praying that Wenger gets a new centre-back very soon and never uss Sebastien Squillaci ever again!

If this is the promise of smile wenger said he gonna put on fans faces, then am not smiling. Cos what we need is not the ability to score, but the inability to withstand pressure, there conceeding goals and losing games and trophies. I expected that he sign an experience C.B, not young and inexpirence players, we have much of them already. Long live Arsenal f.c, long live Nigeria, long live Edo state.

I agree with a lot of this – chamberlain might turn out to be the next messi – but as soon as he is, we’ll sell him to real or barca!! WHY DO WE BOTHER TRAINING UP PLAYERS FOR OTHER TEAMS WHO WILL PAY THE MONEY!! It’s plain stupid. Just buy some frickin players who can help THIS YEAR! We could have had Jagielka for 17m, not a 17 year old who will make a dozen appearances this year. Stupid. Stupid. Stupid.
To all the mindless Wenger defenders – as it currently stands, we’ll win nothing this year – which will mean 7 years without a trophy!!! 7 YEARS. At what point do the AW apologists say – enough is enough, let’s get a new coach in here WHO WILL GAMBLE TO WIN, not just put in boys to do a man’s job.

We need a defender signed by this week. But we also need a striker to come in as gervinho and chanson will go to the African cup of nations. VP does not have a good injury record so we will be left with no striker. Sign mertesacker/jagielka and get either benZema or falcao. Sell the deadwood

Extra CM(In case Cesc Leaves which i highly doubt) – Mata or Cahill(i can swear he can play Centre Mid as well)
Sell Squllaci,Make Denilson’s Loan move Pernament & FOR GOD SAKE GET RID OF BENDTNER we’ve 4 Strikers already;Van Persie,Gervinho,Chamakh and Arshavin(start him regularly and boost his Confidence)

I believe the main problem with this team is the lack of mental strength. The absence of a leaders like Vieira and Campbell in midfield and defence will always cost us victory. I do not think Kolo Toure and Lauren of the invincibles were better than Vermaelen and Sagna. But the mentality was definitely stronger.

I’m loving reading the comments from the Fifa boys thinking the real world works like their computer games.
6 years, no trophies: fair enough, this totally sucks but we’re always in with a shout. Citeh, United, Chelski, Liverpool, even bloody Sunderland and the Spuds are looking to spend big but not Wenger. It’s not what he wants to do. He’s never needed to spend big to achieve success before and nothing has changed. He has earned my faith, but not yours? Madness.
Even if the worst happens, we end up outside the top 4, and go yet another year without silverware it would be devastating but I’d still be a gunner and I’ll still have faith in Wenger. He’s earned that much.

If Arsene is reading this or will be shown this, please note…
the defence is weak, u can’t wait another day for a defender, loseing clichy was not a failure or a mistake, he was clumsey and out of line, gibbs and the other left back are good prospects and can do the job well in my reckoning with the chance of first time play, however the central defence is a problem, we have two good defenders(valmalen and koselniny) however ones injured…djouroe is a sub in my book and squalacy is best left in the dark, in this case, get one young defender and one experienced defender, i like samba, his big, strong and determined he also gets upfield and is a captain for his team, his a team leader…same with cahill however i prefer samba however you will lose him in the africian nations…i would say buy both, samba is likely to cost five million less but the africain nations takes it tole, buy both, cost around 30 million- 35 million…but it will help with a chance for the title, a strong defence is a strong team, it saves goals and gets points!!!
midfield…the loss of fabregas is minimal, wilshere and ramsy are top glass, however song is a little sloppy, his work rate is low, but with wilshere and ramsey its no biggey. the wings are gettin weaker when nasri goes, and arshavin being 30 years old…the new signing chamberline is a prospest, can be on the bench with arshavin, but one winger position is left empty, needs to be resolved FAST… the list of names i can give as good players in my book, are as follows- ellia(netherlands winger), pablo piatti (almeria winger), ibraham afellay (barcelona winger), there just some of my favourites apart from poldolski but thats never gunna happen!! joey barton on a free is worth a look at, it can add a site of aggression and power in the squad, its always good to have strength and power in a side, it scares other players and helps win points.
the attack is fine, injury prown van persie is a worry but wallcott is an attacker an deserves a shot along with many other fowards the side has.
but please get Gahill and samba(maybe both, would be best will have a good powerfull side)-think about joey barton and look into elia,ibrahim afellay and pablo piatti.
AND SELL NASRI ADN FABREGAS AS THEY ARE NOT HAPPY, DO NOT HAVE UNHAPPY PLAYERS INT HE SQUAD PUTS OTHER PLAYERS OFF THERE GAME…look into what ive said if u can read this!!!

please please Mr. Wenger we are tire hearing about fabregas and nasri saga if they are not will to play for the club kindly let them leave. arsenal had played with better players then these two guys and won trophies so while keep them, probably they are the cause of arsenal not winning anything cause they walk around with some wrong mentality in their heads. All we need now is one more experience defender who will help the others on the team.PERIOD!!!!!!!!!!

probably the sale of fabregas and nasri will bring triumph to arsenal. these guys walked with some wrong mentality in their head. Robin Van Persie request for more signing must be held to for the defense is very weak and has shown no strength in depth.
