Arsenal to reinvest Fabregas cash to bring in Eden Hazard
It is being reported today that Arsene Wenger is intending to reinvest the whole sum received from Barcelona (for Cesc Fabrega)s to bring in a straight replacement for his influential captain.
There are very few candidates that Arsenal Fans would accept in place of Fabregas, but at the top of most fans lists would be the young Belgian playmaker Eden Hazard, and according to Mercato 365 Arsenal have already agreed terms with Hazard but now have to persuade Lille to let him go.
Their report reads: “As we made it clear it to you previously, Arsenal has just formulated a proposal of thirty million euros for Belgian international attacker Eden Hazard (20), whose contract expires in June 2015, but without success. A new offer of thirty-five million euros is set to be made.
“According to our information, the Lille player has already made an agreement with the Gunners over a future transfer. Concern is very much on the side of the club of president Michel Seydoux.”
If this is true it would go a long way to restoring the fans confidence in Arsene Wenger and the Arsenal board, but the fact is this report will be met with cynicism as few people believe that Wenger would really spend that amount of money on one player. But you never know……

Not holding my breath, but Hazards signature would go along way. Gervinho is upset that Nasri AND Cesc left and this would smooth things over (not to mention they would have instant chemistry). Do it, and get MVila and Cahill too! Come on you gunners!

Normally I would say excessive but he is only twenty if you can keep him on would be such a good long term investment. I would be happy but it would take himself, Willshere, Aron and Frimpong a while to settle but could potentially be such a midfield.

Dare we believe ? The thought of Hazard with his phenomenal close control and ability to use both feet equally well running through the middle with Walcott, RvP and Gervinho offering him options is an exciting prospect. Could this kid be Arsenals’ answer to Messi ? To be honest i think Arsene will eventually give up because Lille are desperate to hang on to him and the lad isn’t unhappy, he knows he’s young, will play in plenty of games and will play in the Champions League. If, by January Lille are no longer in the Champions League and aren’t doing well in the French league perhaps he’ll force a move and Arsene will get him then. Hopefully i’m wrong and we’ll see him in an Arsenal shirt next week.

Eden Hazard is in no way a replacement for Fabrigas….! To make a statement like this is absolute amateur, Eden Hazard plays on the wing and Fabrigas plays CM so how exactly is Eden Hazard a replacement for Fabrigas….??????? I have hird many people who watch football and don’t understand positions make such amateur comments and frankly it pisses me off, especially when they make comments like Arsen must replace Fabrigas…! @silver01, i was thinking the same, hazard is a winger, hes a a dribbler like nasri who is quick and takes players on, mata would have been a better replacement for nasri and fab, mata has very good passing so he could have played in the fab role if we bought him, although mata is mostly used as a left sided winger, to replace fab u need a midfield general, someone that controls the middle of the field and dictates the play, sneijder, de rossi, bastian schweinstieger, these type of players would be better to replace fabregas, i would love to see us buy schwienstieger for the fab position but its asking alot and would he really leave bayern munich for us, i dont think so, hes signed a long contract at bayern munich aswell, anyway ihope we can bring someone good in. UP GUNNERZ

This is where you are wrong. Arsene is famed for his ability to convert players to play at their best position. Surely everyone agreed that with his conversion of Henry from a wide winger into one of the world’s most feared striker. I think this season Wenger will be playing a 4-3-3 system. That is why Hazard would be a good fit. If M’vila joins he would have a line of Wilshere, Song, M’Vila, (or Frimpong, Ramsey or Diaby) with Hazard, Gervinho & Van Persie (or Arshavain, Walcott) which looks good at least in paper. For the defence doesn’t matter for me who they choose just buy one at least (Cahill, Jagielka, Dann or Mertsacker) don’t think they will be buying Samba.

I wanted to see Eden as well as Mata; but if indeed this signing does happen it would be a miracle of Biblical proportions and i think that all Arsenal fans would be happy to see the shackles of spending like a mid table club shattered. We need Cahill so dont be stingy!!!!!! and i definitely think we need a LB because there is no way that Traore should play second favorite to Sagna. Did you guys see how many crosses came in from that side???

eden hazard is an apt replacement for nasri nd we don need replacement for fabregas coz we hv ramsey nd wilsher who surely will cover dat dis seasn…rosicky is also playin well so we need hazard, a striker coz we ll be losin both chamack nd gervinho for african cup of nations nd a defender… wenger has mentiond it nd i wud be extremely happy if i see kaka, hazard nd cahill included in our red and white army by next week..

Eden is a good player but i hope Lille will allow him to go cos he is under contract till 2015, If we buy him wenger will decide which position he is going to play cos he has that foresight of switching players to their best position so wenger can extract those potentials from Eden in dat central midfield cos he switched Henry from winger to become a successful attacker.

There are several alternatives to Hazard but the problem is the same: they all belong to clubs in the Champions’ League. I would rather we invest 15/18m in someone like Dzagoev than 30m on Eden. He is not worth more than £23m IMO. If we buy at 30m, how much can we sell him later on?

true but hazard might come there is a good possibility because Lille lost 4 of there top players and why not sell the last one left. Dzagoev also would be a good replacement for fabregas and would cost around 12m roughly he has serious potential

Suddenly, I am so excited. Wenger said today that he hopes to make 3 more signings (which I am still annoyed that he left this to the last minute). If we can persuade Lille to let go of Hazard (which I am sceptical about) then I don’t think he will be a Fabregas replacement, he would be more of a Nasri replacement as he is not predominantly a central player. I know Yann M’Villa is not as good as fabregas, but he would be the replacement and hopefully Arsene can make him into something as good as fabregas. And if we get Pereira!!!!!!!!!!

Cesc is irreplaceable so don’t even bother, just find someone good enough to plug the gap. Personally have high hopes for Aaron Ramsey, brilliant so far this year, and of course the future of England, Jack Wilshere. Hazard would do well in Nasri’s old spot, probably better than Nasri. We still need a centerback, hoping for Mertesacker and would also like to see Cahill, who we probably will get.

Pls buy him. If he can’t play fab’s wing,then he can play nasri’s wing and let wilshere try that wing for once. I think wilshere will make it together with eden hazard and m’villa. Perfect combination for me. About cahill’s saga,i hope it ends today. It should to gether with eden’s. Both should be coming latest on the morrow.

IF we wanted Hazard we would have got him instead of Gervinho. Anyways is it really that hard for people to understand that Gervinho is Nasri’s replacement. And either Wilshere or Ramsey will replace Cesc. I think Wenger has learned from the mistake that is Eduardo and will get someone to replace Ramsey just in case he cannot return to form.

i think Marvis Martin is the replacement for Fabregas.He seems to be the future for France if not that good he will be better than rosicky playing in the central midfield @ 12 mill he can be the best buy for us.

Lanz, you’re right, it should be two midfielders to replace Fabregas and Nasri (preferably Hazard and M’Villa as Pereira needs time, we could get him next season where he would have matured. Then we get Cahill to solidify the defence. Glad we are not getting Jagielka, cost Everton the goal vs QPR!

Lille loosing Hazard would be like Arsenal loosing Fabregas after having lost their Nasri (Gervinho) I doubt this would happen as Lille would have very limited time to buy a replacement. Cahill, M’Vila and Sneijder, that would be ok for me but I am quite pessimistic now about new hirings now.

Aussie Jack, I have a feeling that people press those buttons according to their wishes rather than reality. Did you notice GunFrogg’s comment? Very realistic. I am waiting to see how people will rate it. If we cannot get Eden for €30m we should move on to someone else. Christian Eriksen is good. Hamsik is good. Dzagoev scores more than Eden, etc. The Lille management will be seen by their fans as unambitious to sell both Gervinho and Hazard the same window and that to a CL rival!

The players that you mentioned were all playing in origin position.
They did not convert to other position for all that matter. Bendtner has always been a striker,Eboue has always been right back (through sometimes he’s asked to play ay right wing due to injury to players) and Diaby has always been in the centre of the pitch.
But one thing I do agree with you is that they failed and should be offload to generate funds for new players

I think most people on this sight lose sight of reality, quite frankly.
We haven’t signed anybody yet and we continue to dick around trying to get player we need on “a good deal” quibbling about a £m here and £3m there.
It is plain embarrassing, but usual.
I went back and looked at the various ins and outs over the years and come this conclusion.. We’re a cheap, developmental club.
I don’t think Wenger’s ever paid £20m for a player, so do we really think he’s going to lash out E35m on Hazard? I have my doubts.
Would be good to see though. And as for the debate. I don’t give a flying fuck if he’s a replacement for Fab or not – we need 3 good players in by Wednesday to be anywhere at the races this season.
But then you read that he’s in for Caen’s new wunderkid who’s 16. Bet he’d spend big to get a kid.
At the moment all we do is develop players for Manshitty and Barca – who spend real money.

Sleepless nights, living on hope, will he won’t he. I’ll be glad when the transfer window closes. At the moment my life is listening to all the sports channels, logging into anything that says “Arsenal Transfer Rumours”, reading the sport pages back to front and why? Just to hear or read those magic words “and today Blah blah blah, has travelled to The Emirates for his medical, prior to signing for the Gunners. The truth is all I have read is Manchester City or United have signed so and so for 20 trillion pounds, paying him £2 million a week, just for getting out of bed. Please please Arsenal, sign a couple or three decent players and let me get a good nights sleep again.

I was sad 2 see juan mata 2 go chelsea but wenger had others in mind hazard is effective on the wing but is more than capable sloting alongside ramsey if wilshere’s injured and replacing theo walcott or gervinho. I’d like 2 comment on Nasri and Departure you can say bad management from Wenger but it wasn’t because the player could have signed a 90,000 per week deal city came and he left if it wasn’t motivated by money why didn’t he sign a 90,000 deal at city. And Fabregas I don’t think he left because of trophies he left 2 challenge himself get into the spain team he didn’t want 2 start every game he wants 2 play with his old time friends and improve by becoming better and earn a starting regualry and I think hed go back 2 Arsenal if things don’t work out within 3-4 yrs he just loves both clubs
