Arsenal to swoop for Tranquillo Barnetta
The Arsenal transfer rumour today concerns the Switzerland international midfielder Tranquillo Barnetta, who is currently playing in the Bundesliga with Bayer Leverkusen.
Arsenal were strongly linked with Barnetta in the summer, but the 24 year-old was persuaded to sign a new contract at the German club.
The Daily Star has quoted a “source” as saying that that does not stop Barnetta from wanting a big-time move this summer.
The source said: “It’s true Tranquillo signed a new contract but that is negotiable if a big club comes in for him.
“Premier League clubs are interested in him and that’s an exciting prospect.
“Tranquillo would love to play for a top club in England.”
The Star then ruins the possibility of believing the story, when they say that Wenger is making enquiries about Barnetta in case Cesc Fabregas goes to Barcelona in the summer, which we all know is patently untrue!
They say that Barnetta is available for around £10m, but i had practically stopped reading by then!

Not to mention that Bayer are in first place.
This is a very good player and could mean Cesc is on his way back to Barca. I think we could be a victim of our own success….what i mean is if we win silverwear this year the Cesc can leave happy knowing he brough the club their first silverwear for over 4 years! I am not too concerned if he leaves, think what Wenger can do with £45mill??? Barnetta is worldclass and a team mate of Djourou so settling in will not be a problem, plus we already have the likes of Ramsey/Song/Denilson/Diaby/Nasri/Wilshere!!! We are blessed in the department of midfielders and playmakers!!! Remeber the 20 game run without Cesc last season???? Subotic/Matthews/Barnetta/Necid to come in this summer!!!!
