Arsenal Tracking Guinea Star Diallo
Not a day goes by without some sort of transfer speculation surrounding Arsenal and today is no different. The latest player to be linked with a move to the Emirates is Abdoulaye Sadio Diallo of French League Two side Bastia.
The Sun reports this morning that Arsene Wenger sent scout Gilles Grimandi to France on Tuesday evening to watch Diallo in action as his Bastia side took on Reims in a league fixture which they lost 1-0.
Diallo, 20, plays his international football for Guinea and has already scored two goals from four games. He has an equally good record in his 37 league appearances for Bastia which has seen him score 10 times.
The report goes on to say that Diallo is rated at £2million by his club, where he is under contract until the end of 2014.
Yet another player to be linked to Arsenal then. I’ve lost count now on how many players we are supposedly signing in January, but like 99% of all the others nothing will probably come of it.

his just not good enough,we need strikers like sow,rodallega or bellamy.who are strong and with intimidating speed,we also need midfielders such as montolivo,menez,vargas,m’villa or melo cos song and frimpong will be off to nations cup,and defenders such as jagieka,cahill,mexes or steven taylor.one or two in each position will make sense.

Have we lost the plot? Why the heck are we looking at players in League 2 … IN FRANCE! … for players.
2m for a player – you get what you paid for. I of all people had high hopes for Park. I thought 3m …. AW must know what he’s doing. Park must be a hidden talent. I was optimistic. Then I saw him play for the first time in the Carlin Cup last Tuesday at the Emirates against a League 2 side. Not impressed. If he were the player and all that, he should have destroyed the defence, but the only star of that night was Oxlaide-Chamberlin, and possibly Frimpong (both those boys have heart and workrate to match)
So please stop buying second rate players from lower clubs. We need quality. Otherwise we will fall into obscurity, instead of remaining a leader of English and European football.

arsenal wont buy any player unless he’s better than what we already have. maybe eden hazard in january, m’vila seems unlikely the way coquelin is progressing.
the best young player we are linked with is mateo kovacic i hope we sign him. not this dialo, he’s craP and wont get work permit anyway. he only has few caps.

I think some of the comments are forgetting what Arsenal is about. Arsenal is a club that has build its success from nothing. We bring players up through the academy because Arsenal is a family. Where not transfer cheats like city and Chelsea. Our best players have come from acadamy or started out at Arsenal as a nobody. Wilshere, WS13, Rambo, Gibss, Song, Theo, Frimpong, coqulin, Ryo, Ox. There here to grow as a team and become the new invisibles in about 3 years.
Small note this is the philosophy used in fifa 12. You have a youth acadamy!

Tommy, you conveniently forget AFC poached a player that was in the middle of his medical and bought another by showing interest in him, the player then handing in a transfer request with less than an hour to deadline and then the selling clubs hand being forced.
You also forget that the success rate of Wengers policy is showing in his current league position.

These wernt typical Wenger buys though. His philosophy has kept us top 4 for 14 years. Arteta and santos were short term plug ins to help the youth along a couple years. The current position in the table (I believe) is very similar to the post the admin posted a couple days back. That the board are trying to scrape money from everyone. And the whole move to the Emirates hasn’t clicked yet.
Also if you look at profits from transfers since the start of the premier league. (Sales against buys) we are -20 millionish…Chelsea are -500million. And city -300million. He has kept us top four whilst only in essence spending 18million. He’s a genius.

We need to look and consider all players of talent, whoever they play for. Superstars and relative unknowns. Should Manchester Utd not have been looking at Hernandez? Should we have not been looking at Clichy/Ljungberg/Eboue/Toure? Should Blackburn not have been looking at Hertha Berlin’s reserves for Christopher Samba? Yes we need to invest a lot more in transfers, but we are always going to be scouting for unknown players at low profile clubs who can also make it.

How have you not been brainwashed if your assessment of a football manager is based on his player trading, profit generation and not his tactics, prep and training.
I never said get rid of him. Don’t know where you got that from. But as a coach his recent performance his terrible. He has allowed that same issues to continue for 3+ seasons. He never addressed any of the flaws of the team. He never altered his tactics appropriately for teams even though the likes of Man Utd did use to alter tactics to play AFC.
His ventures into the transfer market have also produced many failure. In case you didn’t notice, the majority of his cheapy young foreigners either flopped or moved on.

Hahaha thank you for confirming the brainwashing. Those dates you mention were a long time ago. In the meantime this is a manager that fails season after to address the issue of set pieces. Year after year the most attacking team fails to scores the most goals. The annual collapse happens around the same time. A good manager would deal with this.
Stop talking crap about Chelsea. In 50 years time? Look right now who is more likely to be relegated. Is this because of overspending? No, it is because any player can be sold for a profit. Chlesea have an identity because they have players that ARE Chelsea. Mr Arsenal now plays for Barcelona.
