Arsenal Transfer Exclusive by Phil Space!
I have woken up this morning all ready to give you a thorough breakdown of all the latest Arsenal transfer rumours, but the first one I looked at was so laughable that I just had to write an article on it!
In an “Exclusive” in the Daily Mirror, a “reporter” by the name of James Nursey “The Mirror’s Man in the Midlands!” reports that Arsenal are interestd in signing the Sunderland midfielder Kevin Richardson. This man normally writes about Aston Villa, Wolves, etc so how he found out that Richardson is a “shock target” is beyond me, but this is what he claims…..
He is certainly a very versatile player (or at 27 doesn’t yet know what his best position is!) but he is generally a midfielder/left winger. Now I don’t know if Mr Pursey actually reads any Arsenal transfer news, but Wenger recently scotched the rumours regarding Yoann Gourcuff by saying that there was no room in the Arsenal midfield as it was already “too crowded”.
If Arsenal haven’t got room for Gourcuff, why on Earth would they make room for a 27 year-old Man United reject? That’s why i said this “Exclusive” came from Phil Space, because that is all it does!

Well Arsenal doesn’t really need anymore midfielders though if we did buy one then I would love it to be Gourcuff. We need strikers and maybe another cover defender. Sell Squilacci and bring in someone and buy Podolski, then we have 2 great strikers to rotate then.

Defence, defence, defence….. and a striker. Need attacking mid-Gotze/Hazard, solid no bull defender- Samba/Cahill, as for striker-Podolski good option. Come on AW we look like laughing stock again, although rumours are only rumours. Maybe AW is throwing a smokescreen, because as soon as we are linked with a player, Man Twitty,AC and Real are also interested, as are Chelskea.

I have been an Arsenal fan all my life tell me one manager that would still have a job in any major leaque in Europe.who are in the top 4 or 5 clubs and have won nothing for 6-7 years.Wenger blames the refs all the time.His problem is he will not buy proven players and we have at least 6 or 7 players who are just not good enough.everyone knows who they are.We will win nothing again this year.Wenger seems to think qualifying for GL is good enough.

To fix up this team sell: Walcott squilacci almunia djorou Gibbs denilson bendtner chamakh vela. Rosicky and arshavin(although lazy and a headsache can win a game as he has a cool head(Barcelona) can still change a game. Then buy world class players who will finish off chances kill off teams. We need hazard/neymar, gotze/neymar, podolski/benzema/higuain/pato, Vertongen/taiwo and possibly mvilla. Promote miqual, miyaichi, ox, Bartley, frimpong and coq all as subs as they are all hungry and have real talent. This will allow us to bring talent off the bench and have cover for each position. It will also allow us to rotate.we need our players to play together for a long time like Barcelona as it brings in great success. Is unlikely but this will allow is to dominate Europe once they have played together.

if we look back to the last winter transfer window, samba was really close to joining us, but didn’t & our resulting defensive brittleness caused another barren season.
i hope wenger learns from his past mistakes, acts quickly & makes the required additions AS EARLY AS POSSIBLE.

Keiran Richardson is a typical Wenger player these days, looks good on the ball, no end product and doesnt score, but he’ll be cheap so i wouldnt be suprised if Wenger did buy him! Getting bored of him as a manager now, all he talks about is spirit, desire, passion, its the same old rubbish, this season will end the same as the last 5 seasons (apart from we wont be in Champs League next year), still needing a striker, attacking midfielder, centre back and holding midfielder but we play pretty football!! Truth is Arsenal are a PLC and as long as Wenger is making money by selling the better players they are all getting rich so nothing will change! Van Persie is a god send to the board this year, bang in form a probably go for around £25-£30m in the summer, perfect timing!

Because richardson is an excellent left back and most importantly he.is homegrown. i would offer.sunderland bendtner permanently in direct swap.for larsson and richardson both are excellent full backs quality midfielders can operate.centrally or or on the flanks and are qulaity free kick specialists. both are hkmegrown so wont take up any foreign places in the squad which by the way we are already on quote and henry will take us one over.

I saw Aresenal Play one half of football yesterday and was good to behold. I saw the second half and immediately know why Spuds will finish above us this season. If Wenger does not get the obvious players this window, we will not play Champions League next season… I am already pissed. We need a creative forward immediately…No one in the team presently cuts it, due respect to Jack wilshere but even he is no Fabregas. We run out of ideas in the final third and waste too many chances to compete where we are trying to. I will drop Walcott and Gelvinho after yesterday’s perfomance and bring in hungrier players. Robin is tired and needs a rest. Common sense would have told Wenger to play him as the creative MF yesterday and push in park or Chamak further upfield. We need more quality simple!!!!

what a load of tosh if anyone belives this they are stupid. also im so sick of people banging on about hazard/gotz, as much as i would love to see them at arsenal they are just much out our price braket and there is bigger clubs looking to snap them up that we cant compete with.
however i do belive padolski is a very real option and would make a great signing and he can play anywhere across the front line.personally i would look into buying a solid left back like baines, and push santos into left mid as he spends most of the time there anyway, also he would be good for left back cover along with gibbs.

Dont get me wrong, Arteta & Ramsey are good players BUT they’re not creative enough to break stubborn defense minded oponents as NaAsri and Fab would… Arteta & Ramsey are juz not good enough for a team who have ambition to win the League. I though Arteta was a temporary replacement for Fab or Nasri until Arsenal get their real mastermind anyway. Gotze maybe??

Why won’t he link Richradson to Arsenal? Wenger have not stopped buying average players,take a look at the entire players, beside RVP,Wilshere,Vameleen and probably Gervinho and Theo Walcot,may be Koscienly,who else is a quality player in Arsenal? our bench is zero.Here is a club that once had the likes of Tony Adams,Ray Parlor,Denis Berkamp,Pat Viera,Henry Thiery,Wintherbon,Kanu Nwankwo and several quality international players of repute.Today who do we boast of….Denilson,Arshavin,Diaby,Djouru,Squilaci,Rosciky,Bendtner,Chamak and several other below average players.Where is our destination with this kind of players? Is anybody suprise that we are struggling for top four position? Personally,i am not.

Ramsey,Arteta even Walcot should start on the bench for a club with Arsenal standard. Likes of Arshavin,chamk,Benyoun and so on shouldn’t be in the team. This may give u the idea what/who to be added to the team.

we must sign a striker and a midfielder, we have to get past Ac milan and we will have to play madrid or barcelona at the latter stages, eventhough wilshere and sagna are coming back, we still lack support, unfortunately none of the three of benayoun, rosicky and arshavin are consistent, and neither arteta or ramsey are the greatest to be relied on. Use rosicky to bring reus or gourcuff, gotze doesn’t want to paly at Arsenal and I’m tired of players coming for Arsenal and then crying for other teams.
Chamack, squillaci and diaby are worthless waste of salaries and always waste of points, if they play we for sure draw or lose that match.

why are we giving diaby stick? he is the one cm that can actually dribble through opponents when they get behind the ball, that’s what hey l offer especially now that fabs isnt a fixture in that role.

Never mind Richardson.(although might not hurt to have him as a makeshift leftback and and a fringe player for the wings) My main concern is us not winning anything. A.w needs to sort this out. I dont want to loose him as manager he’s excellent at what he does with the little he’s got, but fans wont take it much longer to loose 2 of our best players in the last 12months and not really brought much quality in to replace them is suicide. He was sailing close to getting the boot as it was. Another year without a trophy is just not good enough. The main point is though if he goes who do we end up with? and can they win a trophy in their first season there? I think not.

P.s JJ, stop talking asuming what you see in Football manager is anything like real life. Diaby is a total waste of space. the ONLY reason we still have him is cause no one wants to buy him. same as Denielson. We have alot of deadwood to cut, Almunia, Denielson, Diaby, (sadly) rosisky, Chamakh, Squiallchi, Park (waste of time bothering with him was) and even arsharvin needs to go. Thats 8 players that are dragging us down we’re paying their wages for them to hardly play and when they do they under perform. Then the board complain we cannot afford big players wages. We could loose walcott over a 25k pay rise. when rooney wanted more money he almost doubled his wage!! ffs sort it out.

Correct me if I’m wrong but when the summer transfer window opened AW said he had a good transfer budget and then we sold nasri & cesc. AW then implied that the entire fee would be reinvested in players. We hardly spent 35m on players. We were then told that we could not get the players we wanted. So I expected that we were going to complete the plan and spend at least part of the 50m+ that we should still have in the transfer kitty.
The queation is: Is that still the plan or were we simply conned again. Do we really have to go through 8-2s before any action is taken. Is our ambition merely 4th. If we cannot find the ‘quality’ players then at least reinvest the spare money in the supporters – drop ticket prices by 15-20%. Then we’re paying about the right amount for a europa league level team with a splatter of domestic cup action now and then.

Joel I hear you there. I too worked out our spending against our income. I was under the impression we would have upto £54mill we could possibly spend, but has been quoted we only have £30mill thats £20million we’ve been sold short.(Again).
No one is asking for miracles. Just stop wasting time and money on deadwood and invest in some real quality.
I was thinking last night about where and why things are so bad. With the return of Henry I’ve been reflecting on the seasons leading upto his departure, we were still a serious force at home and in europe. Yet now we seem to be feeder club and prospects for the europa.
For me it all boils down to AMBITION. We have none. Simple.
A.W has none, the team have none and especially the board have none. What we really need is someone like David Dein. Someone thats wants to push us forward. Our board do not care as long as they get paid what do they care.

Chisel, spot on – no ambition. Lets keep in mind the last few seasons where supporters calls for defensive reinforcements were simply ignored. I am quite certain that we could have taken at least one (if not 5) trophy in the previous three years by simply buying 1 or 2 quality defenders and probably for no more than 15m in total. But heads remained in the sand – and there they still seem to stay.
We are often told that we cant financially compete with City & Chelsea, but we’ve also not been able to compete with Liverpool and United in previous seasons. This season we cant even compete with Spurs, Stoke or Sunderland.

Hi there from South Africa. Been an Arsenal fan for 40 years and has never been so disappointed. To put all in perspective our troubles started when we moved from Highbury to our new stadium with all it’s fancy add-ons. It seems as if Wenger thinks that he can now buy any sub-par player and the environment this player finds himself in will magically transform this guy into a world class person. Secondly, by letting the Americans acquire a majority stake in our club we have lost the plot. Has no one ever noticed that Americans will never ever invest in any business except to plunder it of all income and money and then afterwards sell their share to whoever is stupid enough to buy it. Thirdly by blaming the amount of games we played Wenger tends to forget that all PL teams had the same schedule as we did.
Fourthly, the players – Szezny is the best keeper we had since Seaman retired, Vermaelen and Koscielny are the only defenders I will rate, in midfield we only have Wilshere (injured)and RvP is the only player in the whole team that I will buy if I was the manager of another side. Although Henry was my all time favourite Wenger is clutching at straws if he hopes that Henry will be his knight in shining armour. He is mediocre at best in the American league, which is at best a very mediocre league!! After the first 5 minutes of the Fulham game I knew that we did not stand a chance as Fulham’s defence was organised and the whole team had a greater hunger to win than our team had. It seems as if we are back in the Soones’s era where a draw seems to be just as good as a victory. I’ve been watching this last minute attempt at assembling a team by Wenger since the start of the season and eventually players real value and class are determined on the pitch no matter how high whoever (Wenger et al) rates a player, and to state it bluntly, 90% of our current crop of players suck!!! Since the start of Wenger’s tenure it’s been all about player development, I’m all for that, but for once just stop and smell the roses. You cannot win any trophies by only developing youngsters, you must also have a competitive senior team. Every year Wenger invests in the future of the club but never in the immediate future. All speaks so highly of Wenger’s business ability, but tell me does it make sense to keep on paying a players salary and never use him. Sell all of these players, even at a huge loss, and within one year you would have recuperated your losses by the savings on not paying the redundant player’s salary. It’s the same as me bickering about not being able to by a new laptop but every month I go out and by a very expensive pen although I never use the pen. As for RvP, he’s lost to the club, and I wont blame him when he leaves as he certainly has more ambition than to finish maybe fourth in the PL.
My prediction: The meltdown we saw last season between Jan. and May will be small in comparison to this year. Our best hope is to finish in the top ten. In the CL we will be humiliated. The FA Cup, a faraway dream. As of next season, if the current leaders (Wenger, Kroenke, Gazidis et al) stays put we will be just another team like Everton/Aston villa that fights bravely for a mid-table spot or to avoid relegation. I for one am sick and tired of the propaganda drivel that is spewed at us from Arsenal HQ to keep us in submission and to give us a glimmer of a hope in something that will never be. Either buy some quality and give us quality on the pitch, or acknowledge that something major is wrong and prove to us what you (management) are doing to rectify it.
